BBC is trash. If they say that, peace deal tonight
BBC just announced that the Iran ceasefire talk yesterday was baseless.
BBC is reporting him saying this a few hours ago. > "we'll leave whether we have a deal or not. It's irrelevant now, it's possible that we'll have a deal because they want to make a deal" Market seems to be happy paying Iranian tolls on tankers so long as they're not getting blown up.
Heard it this morning on BBC WORLD SERVICE radio
I’ll just drop a quote instead? “Published 20 March 2026 Much of the damage was caused in initial retaliatory strikes by Iran in the week after the US and Israel launched the war, according to a report by the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) and an analysis by the BBC. The full extent of the damage caused by Iranian strikes on US assets in the region is not clear. But the estimated damage to US military **infrastructure** - a figure that's higher than has been previously reported - offers a picture of the steep costs to the US as the conflict drags on. "The damage to US bases in the region has been underreported," said Mark Cancian, a CSIS senior adviser and co-author of the think tank study. "Although that appears to be extensive, the full amount won't be known until more information is available."

What worries me more than the Brent Crude paper price for oil is the actual price paid for oil in Dubai. That has risen much more sharply. The BBC reported today that in east asian economies they are already at a 4 day week to ration their oil for longer and their reserves cover just 20 more days. If this continues the poorer economies in east asia will be heavily hit. Don't forget that all our imports go through Bangladesh, Indonesia or Vietnam for manufacturing. These bottlenecks in cheap production will be felt mid-summer in Europe an NA.

It is impressively silly that 80-85% of Republicans think the Iran war is a good idea, according to BBC. I don't know how only 15% of half the voters have the sense to know a bad plan when they see one. On the other hand it does explain a lot about the valuations that the DJT stock got up to when the NAV was $10 and even that was overvalued.
Plus another $10B from the BBC for defamation.

So, Theocratic Iran good, Democratic US/UK bad? What about New Zealand, Canada, France, Australia, Germany? I suppose all of them are lying, and Iran is the truth teller? Or is it supposed to be the unnamed journalists I’m supposed to go searching for? Not all news organisation are biased. There are plenty of organizations with a strict adherence to the Editorial code of conduct, that do solid, impartial journalism. I can name my sources. The Associated Press (US), BBC(UK), DW (Germany) and The Globe and Mail (Canada). These will give you evidence based factual reporting. I can guarantee you their standards are higher than whoever it is that you refuse to name, obviously because you do not think they are a credible sources yourself. Otherwise you would not have kept them. The Iranian theocratic state will lie more than any democratic country, any given day (the present us admin is trying to come close though). PS, the democracies haven’t killed as many people as the non democratic countries. Nazi German and Communist China killed far more people than any other, maybe imperialist Britain come close - but none of these were really democracies.
Are we on day 25 or 26 here, BBC reporting day 26 but she’s pretty convinced it’s Day 25

What’s kinda funny in a morbid way is that according to the BBC, which published 5 points out of 15 from the US, Trump seems to want a lot of the same things that had already been negotiated by Obama, such as monitoring by the International Atomic Energy Agency… To me it seems there has been a whole lot of delays, betrayals and bombings, attacks and threats by Trump and his cronies to effectively get back in the same position everyone was in back in 2016…
THEM: > we still do not know what the 15-point plan from big boss includes. YOU: >> It is mentioned in media what those 15 points are THEM: > In what media are they mentioned? Holy feck that’s a lotta money: Omani journalist and international affairs analyst Salem al-Juhouri stated during a BBC Arabic broadcast that “leaks” suggest the U.S. is demanding massive financial contributions from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations. According to his remarks, the figures being discussed are staggering: approximately $5 trillion if Gulf states want the war to continue, and $2.5 trillion if they want it to stop.

BBC says 'maybe Mango is just ''testing the waters'' for what a peace deal could feel like' 🍆✋️️↕️
> Just as he paused those reciprocal tariffs. And just as China was denying the talks were even happening. I don't think that's what happened this time. My read is that Trump lied, and then the administration scrambled to send Iran some demands, which Iran now says they're "reviewing". And based on Trump's public demands I'm guessing the list includes some massive nonstarters for Iran, especially now that we've attacked them twice in less than a year. Here's the timeline: > 8:08cst 3/23 BBC's live blog reported: > Iran's foreign ministry has issued a statement, saying: "We deny what US President Donald Trump said regarding negotiations taking place between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran." Then 12 hours later after a bunch of Trump news conferences where he claimed Iran came to him begging for a deal, etc. they said this: > 20:11cst 3/23: > a senior Iranian foreign ministry official told the BBC's US partner CBS News: “We received points from the US through mediators and they are being reviewed." > > CBS clarifies that this step was taken "as a potential precursor to talks", and that talks are not confirmed or under way. > > The comments come after President Trump said the US and Iran held talks on ending the war, but Iran's parliament speaker denied it. Unless Trump just unilaterally pulls the assault force from the region I doubt we'll see an end any time soon.
Seems like the Iran strategy is to pretend we want to negotiate while Israel bombs them incessantly, and hope the markets don't notice the "change" with no difference. I did love this quote though: >"These are sensitive diplomatic discussions and the US will not negotiate through the press," Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, tells the BBC in a statement. ...as if Trump isn't out there posting "peace through strength!" and other threats and ultimatums on his social media page that *instantly* jerks the markets around.
I thought you were more of a BBC guy
BBC already saying Iran says he’s lying. Our media is cooked.
I am 💯 % with you here. Trump is stalling for ground invasion, but he is sensitive to the markets so he had some BS headline published. He negotiated in bad faith with them less than a month ago to plan the attack with Isreal. Why would they trust him? The american news stories themselves (in small print) give the Iranians perspective: "Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf posts that no negotiations with have taken place with the US. It adds that "fake news" has been used to "manipulate" the oil markets, and that the Iranian people "demand complete and remorseful punishment of the aggressors"." Source: BBC News https://share.google/SF9mnLc2dlkaI9pL5
I just want to know who Trump's talking to, because BBC has him ranting about how Iran called him begging for a deal and they're in agreement on a key element of the deal, and when asked who he's negotiating with he just said *"they have representatives"* and *"a top person"*. It's all so unspecific and pumpy, talking about how oil prices will drop like a rock once a deal is complete, that I suspect his plan is just to drag out the bragging about how well negotiations are going for five days and then bomb the hell out of their power plants next Friday after market close.
BBC News is reporting that Iran did not negotiate. Iran threatened to hit power plants in the region in retribution if the US/israel hit theirs. It would cripple the entire Middle East. Someone whispered in Trump’s ear that this strategy would be stupid. And he needed to save face.
https://preview.redd.it/ilvbgczvosqg1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e2cb1abd9a8a45ffe8727b35ce1e0e1dd2576a06 Not sure wtf is up with the link but it's on BBC's website. There have been no talks between Iran and Trump.
Yep BBC is quoting that Iran's Fars News Agency are saying a source from Iran government has stated no direct or indirect communications has happened. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/ce35wke27ynt?post=asset%3Aa19495c2-b263-49b8-b04b-a8879eb9ab57#post
I did see BBC just added the same info to their live reporting, but they're citing the same IRGC affiliated news groups statement, so no new info.
5th bullet point on the BBC link, not that it's actually a good surce >An Iranian news agency quotes an unnamed source saying there have been no talks between Tehran and Trump
Trump 'backed down' - Iranian IRGC-affiliated news agency published at 22:57 22:57 Ghoncheh Habibiazad Senior reporter, BBC Persian Iran's Fars News Agency, which is affiliated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has quoted an unnamed Iranian source as saying there is "no direct or indirect contact with Trump". The source says after "hearing that our targets would include all power stations in West Asia, he backed down".
BBC just reported that the IDF are still conducting strikes in Iran
BBC now reporting Iran refuting Trump's statement
PER NEWS AGENCY “BBC” Iran's Fars News Agency, which is affiliated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has quoted an unnamed Iranian source as saying there is "no direct or indirect contact with Trump". The source says after "hearing that our targets would include all power stations in West Asia, he backed down".

Stop watching CNN, ABC, NBC, BBC, CBS etc when a Republican is a president. Things are not bad at all. They will say good things about shitty democratic administration when the inflation is through the roof, failing foreign policy, wars all over the world and invasion of country by foreign spies and Islamic terrorists.

I suggest you watch some non Western media outlets to get a balanced perspective. I watch both, and they aren’t telling the same stories. Not saying who is more accurate, but your statements read like they’re straight out of the likes of CNN and BBC only.
