Historically you are correct. But on the off chance it works out, could be money. Bought into $APRN, then RS caught me off guard. But recently sold for 13. A share, more than doubled my $$ I'm happy 😊$$! But it's a product someone actually wants.

Oj for sure it's screwed up a bunch of things for brokers. Not saying that at all. My option contracts are practically useless right now due to the RS. Companies typically don't RS unless they are trying to keep compliance with the market they are listed in. BA is under NYSE which requires companies listed to maintain a price over $1. BA was under $1 for a while and ended up RS'ing to retain compliance. The RS was 12:1 and for simplicity caused the .50/share price to be $6. The price fell under $5 the next day. The price went down due to the RS. It definitely messed with brokers as the CUSPID changed and some brokers listed APRN as close only during the transition. Furthering dampening the buy pressure. As a person that has been invested in APRN for a while and has monitored it closely, the RS caused negative price action to occur. They even tried slipping in that notice same day and right before a fireside chat with the CEO of BA and the CEO of FreshRealm to hopefully dull the news some. But to your point, the RS has messed with household investors to trade APRN in all capacities.

I just got a call for m Ogape Partners (or something like that. They wanted to enquire about my vote and tried to get me to vote with the board. I listened and then he got to the part about a reverse split. I then said, NO on everything the board wants. He then stammered out something about how the split will attract new investors. I said, "You guys have been bleeding new investors for the last 6 years. Now you want my vote to do it some more. As soon as it reverse splits it will get shorted back below 1$ and you will be delisted anyway." I'd write this over at the APRN sub but they banned me. Zoom out six years and you will see a 150$ stock steadily fall to .60 cents. It's going bankrupt. Good riddance. If the reverse split goes through I'll buy some puts and make some of my money back.
The shares available to borrow is the amount available for people to short. If there are a lot available, then that gives people shorting it more ammunition to push the price down because they can borrow the shares and sell them, flooding the market. The CTB is the cost to borrow, which is the percentage it costs to rent the shares until you cover/pay them back. For aprn right now the CTB is low, which means there is no pressure for shorts to cover because it is cheap for them to keep holding onto them. I pointed out the available shares because the price still went up despite the market being flooded with borrowed shares. Also, the CTB might not make them want to cover, but when the price rockets on thursday when good news comes out, they will have to cover at a higher cost than what they borrowed at. The longer they wait if the price keeps running(which I think it will) they will have to cover at an even higher cost. The goal of this sub is to find companies that hedge funds are betting are going to go bankrupt, but we know will recover. Watching out for dilutions, if you can catch a company right before it recovers, you can make insane gains. it is a gamble though, because hedge funds aren't dumb. In the case of APRN, I have been following it for almost a year, and finally it is about to make it's recovery. Not financial advice though.

I have calls in APRN but I can’t figure out what pattern you’re seeing. It’s like a “feel good graph”, because I would feel good if APRN actually did this.
The only thing interesting about APRN is that it isn’t bankrupt yet and that the stock still worth 2 quarters.

DD: Since Feb dilution we have had more partnerships (Amazon/Walmart/Verizon/WeightWatchers), more mealkit innovations, better/best reviews, more efficient advertising and overall more sales/revenue. Actively hiring. Actually paying off debts (7 mill a month total near 30 million) Half a billion dollars in sales, #1 competitor to HF with 20% of the marketshare Constantly ranked #1 mealkit quality in foods and env friendly/green 1 in repeat and retaining customers by +10% when compared to other companies including HF. EZCater/WeightWatchers/Hello Fresh all contenders in a potential buyout. CEO and temp CFO who's known from mergers and acquisitions (RedBox) are talking of turnaround and paying debts now until June. 7 million each month. They'll be debt free this summer and able to make moves. Talks of profitability coming soon. Company is pulling out all the tools. Reverse SS , ATM , whatever they need to secure the guaranteed funding promised of ~55 million from the investor that already bought millions of shares at 5.65 Stock is heavily shorted. Last few fins they've been talking about making proftability, paying off debts, more efficiencies, EBITRA positivity and been on the way. Same office locations as HF and similar hiring positions. HF CEO said they are looking for more acquisitions from different mealkit providers that bring unique menu options which is what APRN specializes in and is touted on in reviews. Stock needs to hit 1$ by June as NYSE accepted their plan not to delist. Vanguard, Blackrock and a multitude of other big investment companies bought in at much higher dollar amounts. The issue with these mealkit companies is that they have efficiencies and a lot of investments required before hitting profits such as where HF is now. The company has recently sold their food processing for 50 million dollars which will allow management to focus on profitability. The kicker is that both companies are invested in the success of Blue Apron. Another 50+ million outstanding in money owed to them from Joseph Sandberg. More to come... I'm expecting partial buyback and/or cancellation of remaining ATM.
