AVXL up almost 10 percent yesterday. Has decision before euro medicines agency. Maybe this is the time for heavily shorted biotech stock to squeeze?
BDTX ANNX AVXL CGTX some interesting bio pennies I found
AVXL. At work so can't provide a detailed DD. They are developing an Alzheimer's treatment in phase 3 with compassionate use in the real world. They are flushed with cashed, $103MM as of 9/30/25. 25% of outstanding shares are being shorted. Not even looking for a short squeeze here, just organic growth because the company is doing good things.
Sorry for the late reply That sucks that now you have to worry about the FDA when you could trust their word before , makes everything even harder than it already is in the sector lol He is super smart , he just likes to front run it before hand as well, what do you think of his AVXL short thesis? You agree with it? Thanks for the write up :) I appreciate you letting me pick your brain. I’ll keep those on my list and do some DD into them over the weeks
How confident are you that the upcoming P3 data will hit primary PUL (and key secondary LVEF) stat sig? I rolled most of my VRNA winnings into AVXL options and got burned badly upon CHMP negative opinion. I have a sizeable position in CAPR but now I am thinking if I should exit. If PUL does not hit, CAPR is most likely over. No way Vinay Prasad shows flexibility that Linda hopes the FDA shows as communicated in her last conference call.
I bought puts in a biotech shitco ($AVXL) I felt pretty confident would get a negative ruling on an important regulatory milestones. The put is now deep ITM and the IV is astronomical at 390%. Would it make more sense to sell before the ruling while the IV is so high, or wait until after the ruling which may crush the IV but also may result in a massive crash in stock price?
AVXL. Got hammered today for no good reason and company about to get an oral medication approved for Alzheimer's Disease.
I hope this is real, I hate people who short period. It's going to be so fun when the shorts get burned with AVXL.
AVXL - EU approval decision for oral treatment of Alzheimer’s is nov 14 with US probably right behind it. Currently 32% short for some additional rocket fuel
#TLDR --- **Ticker:** AVXL **Direction:** Up **Prognosis:** Buy shares/calls. Their precision Alzheimer's drug, Blarcamesine, shows game-changing results in 70% of patients. A positive EU advisory opinion in November could send this sub-$1B company to a $10B+ valuation overnight. **Catalyst:** CHMP opinion in mid-November. **Author's Position:** 17,500 shares deep.
A clock stop (even if it happened) is not a positive, it is a negative. It shows that they weren't satisfied by the data AVXL sent and they need more. Sure, it could be worse (instant denial), but you shouldn't spin it as a great thing. The same thing happened (although by FDA, not EMA) with CGTX-es BTD: they asked for more data, then in the end they denied their BTD for DLB.
A few points: AVXL has passed clock stop 1 @ EMA. The odds of approval are superb, about 90%. And there is no safer med than theirs now to treat ALZ. They work best with mild cases and showed a near 50% reduction in decline for "wild type" ALZ which is some 70% of population. At least a third of CURRENT ALZ European population, so 2.5-3 million, will qualify for blarcamesine based on progression but remember...new cases come along every day! They will be like Tesla...first oral med approved and will be hard to supplant. The stock has a good chance to hit $50 or more downt the road and to me a 5X is plenty good. I trust them more than Cog. Ther. regarding extensive data, OLE proof of 3-4 years, etc. The FDA will not be far behind, watch. BTW, the FDA required TWO end points to be met and is changing now to ONE which is more realistic. Spread your bets wisely.
Thank you for the suggestion, I answered in an other comment. Long story short, everything about AVXL looks way too fishy to me, seems a lot like what was with SAVA. If you look at the EMA deadline they are already way past due even that, and they were afraid to go for FDA approval for like one and a half year now. I think that CGTX offers much better risk-reward. I might be wrong of course!
AVXL.....EMA approval nearing, first oral ALZ drug. Period.
u/anygal I would spread your bets to Anavex. AVXL. A very, very high chance of EMA approval by end of year and SP is short beaten down now. As for CGTX their credibility went down with the burying of the FDA decline for BTD status. I think the sample was too low. Anyhow, the stock is well worth a bet if for ALZ alone given two 6 month trials. I inquired....when one fills up they will start the second so will be overlap, not simultaneous. I believe the stock will, from current SP, have potential for a large gain if ALZ appl gets approved....but figure 2 years or bit more. I did very well recent run up and tossed half of gain back into shares at $1.60 yesterday.
Thank you, I was invested into them a couple of years ago, but when they were afraid to go for FDA approval even a year after their phase 2/3 trial I pulled out, because it seemed fishy. If you look up the EMA deadline you can see that they are way above it, so either they also think that something is fishy or they already denied it and AVXL simply didn't tell their investors (though hopefully the first). Also, as far as I know nowadays they are only representing the data of people with early Alzheimer's, which is a 1-200 thousand market on the US instead of the 7 million they aimed for and less than tenth of the people CGTX got Phase 3 approval with Zervimesine, all the while AVXL has a market cap of like 4-5 times compared to CGTX. Long story short, I like CGTX much better, even if their BTD for DLB got denied.
AVXL is the next good biotech short following ATYR
AVXL is the next good biotech short.
ATYR now, AVXL next. Trust
Id much rather talk about CGTX , ELDN, SANA, ELTP, AVXL, or IXHL
My comment will likely get removed bc I don't post here enough, some BS like that, but here goes... CGTX is the only other bio stock I own other than AVXL (large position) and this is based on the SCIENCE. There is plenty of reason to believe that Z is a real contender when is comes to precision medicine based on biomarkers for CNS diseases. It is early yet, but this is the only other stock that has truly interested me in this space since AVXl came along well over a decade ago.
GSAT. But what is your point? Are you trying to say it doesn't exist? Are you trying to say it's hard? Are you saying it's rare? I don't get what having the exact name means? AVXL still uplisted and relatively stable, but not a breakout.
AVXL calls are insanely undervalued
AVXL about to break out
SAVA were valued way over $2 billion after they announced their phase 3 greenlight and they shot up as much as $5 billion dollars even though their phase 2 results were nowhere as good as the CGTX results (40-50% slowing of cognitive decline vs 95% for CGTX-es low p-tau target group [roughly 30% of overall Alzheimer'spopulation]). Obviously later they failed phase 3 but they were trading at 20x-25x of CGTX-es current market cap for years after their phase 2. Just three months ago Sanofi acquired Vigil Neuroscience for $470 million after their phase one (not even phase two). AVXL currently trades at $900 million dollars, even though their drug has a less than 50% cognition decline reduction and they didn't even go for FDA approval for over a year now, they only shoot for Europe
21k at .90, and tons of AVXL too.
AVXL Anavex Life Sciences. Jan or so decision, 90%+ odds of approval, for Alzheimers oral drug that works well. Do your own research, but this has 5X+ potential.

You basically have to be lucky. I doubled mine with $AVXL running from $3.60/ share to $14.80 in 2015. Double again in 2018 off another $AVXL run. Third time in 2020/2021 with a split between some $GME, $AMD and $NVIDIA as well as a fertilizer company I can't recall during the start of the Ukraine invasion by Russia. A potash play. I've since traded pretty flat/even with S&P 500 through fairly bullish markets. Made some extra by selling a big portion of my ETF holdings before the tariff announcements and then buying back in nearest the bottom. Only up about 40% since 2021 but it's gotten to be where the number is big enough I don't do a lot of high risk trades anymore.
Yall missed the $AVXL boat too. It's the circle of stock loss.... always late to the party but early to the downfall.
AVXL the drug works 🚀🚀🚀
SEE HERE! AVXL still has over 25M shares short, unbelievably high at 30% of the float. I do not know the days to cover! AVXL a small Biotech company popped 20% just today.
AVXL up 20% today on no news, took the opportunity to get out but curious whats up
Get in AVXL now, it’s IOVA before the massive pump
I was trying to warn people that this was a s*** option. Congrats to those who made some money on it but this company deserves no love. They are rotten to the core and their business model is to rip off sellers and buyers alike. I also want to say I was trying to get people to buy into avxl. My posts keep getting taken off because I don't do one thing or another required for this group. All the same I think I posted about it when it was like five and it's 11 and change now and will be 200 if EMA approves. I would love it if somebody who knows the protocol here did a post. It's an excellent YOLO option AVXL
My capital is small right now so I use smaller PT just in case I get assigned. I use SMCI, CRSP, AVXL, ALAB, ACHR, OKLO, QBTS, CRWV, sometimes CRCL.
They also moon when they get an approval and good trial results. To the Moon, AVXL!
Just stumbled into this thread. What is your take on AVXL?
As if it's as simple as filing out a form. Avanex c-suite has discussed this on numerous conference calls. The problem with the FDA route is the cost of the full phase 3 for ALZ, which for AVXL would require partnership with a major pharma and loss of control. The EMA is the slower, inexpensive route that allows them to stay independent. Would you really sell a drug with this potential to Lilly for a few hundred million plus some juice down the line? After EMA approval, FDA will follow quickly. If they decide to partner after that, buyout is billions not millions.
I think you'd be better off speculating in AVXL
$AVXL 30% short interest pending EMA approval for Alzheimer’s. Short squeeze is imminent.
This will be my AVXL options soon
Maintain a 20-25% max loss on the LEAPS as the tide will have turned against you. Capital preservation is essential. That said, if your stock is trending upward I agree and in fact PRACTICE what you state for enhanced leverage. Currently holding deep in $$ Calls on AVXL. Look em up.
Many many years ago I did some super basic "I like the stonk" level DD and bought $AVXL at $0.16/share (equivalent to about 64 cents a share now after a 4:1 reverse split). It was a decently sized bet for what was a penny stock then. I made a lot on it back then and have bought and sold the rises and falls of it since then. There have been some misses but overall its made me quite good returns.
Your comment makes no sense. AVXL already released positive results and a peer reviewed article backed by 58 AD specialists. How does this compare to SAVA which failed completely? Did you do any research before making this comment?
AVXL. About to be approved by the EMA sometime this summer 2025 or later in the year, about to go parabolic....do your own DD, but just a shout out to whoever has a family or personal need to for an alzheimers drug that actually WORKS.
I was invested in AVXL for a long time in the past, but I got tired of waiting after they haven't even submitted for approval with the FDA half a year after their phase 2/3 trial was already done. If you are waiting for over half a year then there could be something fishy there. As far as I know, they still haven't submitted for FDA approval, a whole year after their trial ended. On the other hand ACOG is an already approved drug out in the market right now, today. Still, it is not disease-modifying like AVXL claims to be. Still, I honestly hope that AVXL succeeds, even though I am not in it anymore.
There’s also AVXL with a similar drug, trials done, waiting for fda and ema approvals. I’m invested in AVXL since the beginning of the year.
I just did a quick read and the two (ANVS & AVXL) are different in target molecules and mode of action. ANVS is effectively an mRNA inhibitor. go to wiki to learn about Blacarmesine. My own view is the mitochondria play a substantial role in PD. Hopefully we will one day see a pinch of Blacarmesine added to Buntanetap in a trial.
AVXL broke my rugpull virginity with a -40% premarket drop like 10 years ago and I haven't seen the ticker since. Good luck OP, be my vengeance
AVXL & SUNE are my plays. Good luck
He was long AVXL? That is surprising
Almost bought meta at its low of $18/share. During the covid crash I debated buying deep OTM tesla calls in bulk but hadn't turned on options on the account I wanted to Yolo that with. There have been a lot of "almost pulled the trigger" and a decent number of did pull and.... those don't go so well. Then again my overall investing is beating the s&p 500 over 10 years but mostly held up by buying AVXL at $0.16 / share selling it near top and then buying the bottom again several times.

If funds clear. AMD,KULR,AVXL,ACHR. And add to my already existing positions.
AVXL is about to be the short squeeze of a lifetime. They have submitted for EU approval for Alzheimer’s. A patent was published on Thursday that shows they have developed a diagnostic kit for early Alzheimer’s and have the drug to treat it.
While I do love the big picture potential, it is more important that $AVXL succeed in ONE IND before we really dream big. They are on the right track. Reasonably well financed, successful late stage placebo controlled Alzheimer’s results, application submitted for approval in Europe, peer review backing their late stage results coming next month. Positive 3-4 year data coming next month. Exciting times for $AVXL
AVXL is becoming the TSLA of neurodegenerative disease treatment. [Their tech literally measures your genetic response to the drug and adjusts treatment accordingly](https://beyondspx.com/article/anavex-life-sciences-avxl-pioneering-precision-medicine-for-neurodegenerative-disorders). Gonna be wild when insurance companies realize preventing brain rot is cheaper than dealing with it later. 🚀🧠
Three weeks from now, I will be harvesting my crops. Imagine where you will be, and it will be so. Hold the line! Stay with me! If you find yourself riding alone in green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled, for you are in Elysium, and you’re already dead AVXL-OKLO
Im not sure what SAVA’s fraud has to do with AVXL. They aren’t even the same mechanisms of action.
AVXL market cap is $770 million
AVXL: Anavex Life Sciences (Alzheimer’s pharmaceutical and pipeline is applicable to other Central Nervous System disease indications). Currently trading at $9.03, and just submitted topline data to the European Medicines Agency (EMA). I’ve been watching and buying this security for over ten years now, and the inflection point is almost here. My bets are long placed and I would encourage you to perform your own due diligence. I believe 2025 will be a momentous year for Anavex, and their drug compound(s) will greatly benefit humanity. Best of luck either way.
I never bought puts on SAVA, but that was pretty obvious considering they were under investigation for fraud and fired their CEO. I would not advise shorting AVXL - I have been following this for years. I started building my position last year and went all in when they dropped from the Rett syndrome drop.
Right on! I learned a lot from his DD on SAVA. And full disclose, I did buy SAVa PUTS & made bank. I watched his entire thesis on SAVA play out to be exactly true. So yeah, I have no idea about AVXL but I’m nervous to fade his picks. That’s all I’m saying. Best of luck dawg.
Ironic. AVXL is Martin Skhreli new short thesis. He was talking about it during the live stream yesterday. I have no dog in the fight but just be careful. These Alzheimer's drugs are extremely complex & hard to get right. And you really need to know about pharmacology & chemistry to front run these volatile bio-pharma stocks.
$SAVA didn't show any efficacy and so they killed their program before they even applied for approval. $AVXL did show tremendous efficacy and just submitted their first application for approval (MAA to EMA.) Big difference.
Bad bot, AVXL currently has a 766mm market cap
Bad bot, AVXL currently has a 766mm market cap.

It's absolutely not a problem at all bud, thank you so much for the kind words! > Anavex Life Sciences (AVXL) is currently trading at $9.05, showing a strong upward momentum supported by promising clinical data for its Alzheimer's drug, Blarcamesine. The stock has recently broken above key moving averages, with the 10-day SMA at $8.48 and the 20-day EMA at $8.04, indicating bullish sentiment. The RSI values are nearing overbought levels, suggesting potential for short-term consolidation. However, the MACD histogram remains positive, reinforcing the bullish trend. Given the mixed market sentiment and broader market strength in tech and AI sectors, AVXL could see further gains. I recommend a LONG position with an entry around $9.00, targeting $9.50 as the first price target and $10.00 as the second, with a stop loss at $8.70. Confidence in reaching the first target is moderate due to current momentum, while the second target carries lower confidence given potential volatility in biotech stocks.
AVXL Thank you man seriously.
Martin Shkreli trashing another Alzheimer's pharma stock AVXL on his stream Meats back in the menu boys
$AVXL is about to 🚀 >20% of the float is short and they are about to submit an Blarcamesine (Alzheimer’s Disease) for approval. At their last conference they confirmed it will be submitted this quarter. The drug stops loss of brain matter due to AD, confirmed by MRI in their trial. I’m long over 20k shares. It is estimated that an approval in the US alone would be worth ~$43 billion, which would equate to $500+ per share. patient testimonial: https://vimeo.com/1023753471?share=copy https://ipwatchdog.com/2021/10/26/assessing-much-alzheimers-drug-worth/id=139154/ https://www.anavex.com/_files/ugd/79bcf7_e5426a3b0863470aacd26f27e5fc4ae3.pdf
AVXL will 10x or go down 75% in the next year
SAVA doesn't have any placebo-controlled data that says their drug works. If you like the risk/reward of SAVA, check out the various other biotechs with better data and lower market caps (e.g., ANVS, AVXL...).
I am a physician, so I make the classic mistake by investing in something I think I know something about. That said, I'm holding VYGR, IONS, ATHE and AVXL, just because I like the look of their candidates. A lot of the bugs have been worked out of biotech in the last 15 years or so. Unwanted binding sites, liver and kidney issues and target specificity are now worked out very early in a drug candidate's life, often \*in silico\*. We understand so much more about the pathways we're trying to modify. And CROs make sure that if the drug is any good, the study is designed and run properly so it'll show the benefit. I don't think it's "buy 10, expect 9 to fail and 1 to run 100x" any more; I think a lot of companies show promise.
AVXL totally worthy of huge success, it’s just going to take a longer amount of time to break the code. I’ll be long gone before they do.
PHAT continues to have average looking volume and yet goes up just like AVXL did.
AVXL. Only based on current cost basis though as I've bought and sold it many times and also sold covered calls against it. Likely actually up overall on the stock but I haven't kept up with my spreadsheet on it.
Absolutely. I've been bagging AVXL for years now. Think I'm actually up on it overall but I've bought and sold it so many times it's hard to say.
Isn't a penny anymore but AVXL I think it's a bargain if it's primary candidate gets approval within next two years. 🤷♂️
I’m still in my AVXL spiral. Worth considering cough. Cough
AVXL it's going to pop on July 31... price guidance of $43
Thanks for posting about ACOGF too. Someone earlier mentioned AVXL. VCNX, Vaccinex, will be reporting top line data at the Alzheimer’s conference on July 31,2024 if you’re interested in another Alzheimer’s stock.
Might move my 4.86 AVXL to PHAT
AVXL keeps going up 5% a day but the momentum and score keeps slow decline. Good swing nonetheless
