You’re confusing a compelling story with a compelling investment. “AMD did it” isn’t a valuation model, and a hypothetical 1% market share doesn’t magically translate into $10B in revenue or justify today’s price. OpenAI using CBRS does NOT prove CBRS can scale profitably or defend its position against Nvidia! And telling people they’re wrong because you got AMD right years ago? 😭😭 That’s ego, not analysis. Show the numbers, not the victory lap. SORRY!
This is the sort of thinking that sent AMD from 200 to 550 in 2 months. Or rather the thinking that kept it at $200, just for everyone to realize they were missing the train. What's hilarious to me is there are maybe 5 companies making ai chips and only 2 for resale (nvda, amd). AVGO and MRVL are making custom ai chips on commission, and are trillion-dollar companies. OpenAI isnt using them for sol ultrafast, publicly, yet. Mostly cause why bother if the largest edge is more likely to be inhouse and self-recursive use. Why let a regard ask yet again how to get rich with an app when it can be used to iterate faster than anthropic? Even if its not automated self-improvement, all frontier models are trained using inference of past models. Why WOULDNT you do that with the fastest chips? If theyre limited why use them just to have users hit their rate limits faster for no increased revenue? And finally, OP said 10 years. They may not hockey stick in the next quarter, but their market cap is $35b. Find me a smaller company with as much to speculate about. You think space mining has a faster, larger rate of return? Competing with Spacex? You think spacex is going to double to 4T faster than CBRS can double to 70B? CBRS investors did not hoard its growth in private. You know the stories of people who forgot about PLTR stock 9 years ago? CBRS will make many of those stories.
CBRS. it's a chip company, making inference chips (not wimpy desktop or car cpus) with a $35b market cap. AMD took a long ass time to hit $1t, but 1t is 28x 35b. The opportunities are definitely there. This is a pretty sweet one.
