BND / HYDB at about a 2:1 ratio.
corporate bond etfs going BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR HYDB is my top pick
Also great options indeed š The only reason I suggest SPY and QQQ is that although they might be pricier, they do give out higher returns. In the last 5 years (since 01/01/2018) with 100 shares: SPY: about 40% QQQ: about 50% VOO: about 7% QQQM: about 2% I don't know too much in the ETF world, but what I do know is that SPY and QQQ have seemed to be the top performers in the long run when put next to other ETFs. iShares ETFs are the only other ETFs that I have found to come close to SPY and QQQ returns with HYDB giving a return of about 40% over the last 5 years (since 01/01/2018). These % returns are based on the 5 year period previously mentioned by getting 100 shares of the most expensive price of that month and simply never touching a single thing. I hope this helps! :)
Yes Iād put some in high yield savings making 4.75-5% and the rest in bond ETFs that pay anywhere from 3-7% yield Things like JEPI FALN FLOT HYDB SHYG BINC
There are bond ETFs with higher yields than HYSAs. EMHY, USHY, HYDB stuff like that
Sound advice IMHO. Now how do I tell the guy that I am putting on the brakes. Ug. He sent me a link to make some time on his calendar. Now I dread the talk. I do have access to him via my family who all have their $ with him. The only thing I would not have access to his private equity pool of REITs that are freakishly inflation-proof and with consistent high yields (I think it was 7%) Also the thing I struggle with is the stock I invested in that have been way under-water for the past few years (MO, OXLC, HYDB, WTRE, ADBE, YYY, AMZN). Some are down as much as -40%. My thinking is to just wait it out since I have at least another 10 years before I retire.
