Very quickly after, I only drop in to the modqueue and avoid this sub. I feel like there used to be a nugget every month or so, but not so much any more. And I'm in the business of stocks and later bonds since 1985 at 14 y/o and really made high seven digits for my clients and am a self-mullionaire myself. My advice would be to grill those by far mostly pretenders and ask extremely complicated questions only top experts can answer! Also e.g. trying to engage in excessive discussions to filter those ultra many who happen to be only in (your!) money in order to identify other finance geeks, ideally intrinsically motivated and rich enough not to bother! You guessed it and those exotic one's really seem ultra rare. Intrinsic motivation seems key. Lack of and them in need for (your!) money results in what? You supposedly considering or already trading options, what's your practical and theoretical experience and knowledge and how come you assume making money while extremely many happen to lose, often destroying their accounts? And why do you (implicitly) think options would be most suitable or best for you?

Idk bro I bought about 100 shares when it was $20 in 2021. I haven’t averaged down because the company has failed to impress me with earnings over the past 2 years or so. I’m just going to let it ride but I’m don’t plan on adding to it. I’ve yet to see any IRL, the parking structures near me have Eaton brand chargers. Looked into it and bought some Eaton last year lol, it’s performed way better than CHPT and pays a dividend.

Because delta calculated by your broker uses implied volatility, so if implied volatility isn’t the same as realized volatility your Greeks and probabilities is wrong. Not to mention that delta is a function of N(d1) and the Black Scholes probability is N(d2). The Black Scholes also assumes a ton of stuff (lognormal distribution, stock returns = risk free rate, etc) that just aren’t realistic IRL

Half-Life: Alyx is definitely a good one to see how a proper single player campaign can be done with VR. Pistol Whip is one that most people end up loving when I bring my Quest 2 somewhere. Markiplier's reaction seemed overdramatic, but people act that way about it IRL. It's more comparable to an on rails shooter than a rhythm game, despite how it's presented. Also a damn good workout. There are some events that *cannot* be priced in. i.e., if the Fed says that interest rates are going up 25 basis points tomorrow, that change cannot be already priced in for short-term bonds. Long-term bonds can price in those changes, but the Fed Funds rate is effectively equal to the rate on short-term bonds. You can theoretically make money on that price movement despite being a small investor - though margin rates will probably kick your butt IRL. Another time when things cannot be priced in is during a market crash. The big players typically overestimate the effect of recessions on the stock market, not because they want to, but because they have to - everyone is trying to pull their money out of funds and banks, so they have no choice but to sell their holdings, even below their own price targets. You can also take advantage of this as a small investor - timing the market is hard, but you can do DCA instead to ensure that you're buying during these times. Furthermore, if you have any kind of industry knowledge, that can also help you outperform the market. It doesn't matter how fancy the hedge fund algorithms are, if you know something that they don't, you can trade on that information while they can't. All that said, you will probably be better off sticking to index funds instead of picking individual stocks. Personally, I am into investing as a hobby - I just think it's interesting to think about stocks and guess what their true values should be; doesn't really matter if I make money with it or not.

Don’t be too hard on yourself; you’ll see a lot of bad things in options trading here an IRL. Much better to treat it as a business than a casino. Start doing the more conservative things suggested, it’ll take you a couple of years to even get to my mediocre level of competency. But you will.
