I think the same will happen to a company called Lightwave Logic (LWLG). One of the most shorted companies in the US right now… They are in the semiconductor industry. Their very respected CEO has two doctorates and it is his life goal to make their polymers ubiquitous. They just received an important price for Most innovative product and they are about to announce multiple deals in the next months. I think the next shorsqueeze film will be about this company. Right now I’m adding to MVIS and LWLG. MVIS is on the cusp of dominating the LiDAR industry, 14mm aperture window that will sit in the metal strip between your windscreen and your roof, 30 fps, immune to sunlight and other LiDAR, works to 80mph, software validated already by multiple OEMs, signed up Jaguar Land Rover this month for software, and they can offer a one box solution to include dynamic range LiDAR plus a short range LiDAR, something that no other company can offer. They also have MSFT over a barrel as their contract ends in December and MSFT either need to renew it with more favourable terms or buy the Augmented Reality vertical from MVIS, as MSFT cannot honour the US army IVAS contract that is worth $22 billion without a licence to use MVIS tech (it is MVIS tech in the Hololens 2). The executive bonus scheme rewards them for the sharing price sitting at $36 for 20 trading days, and I don’t think that is the ceiling. It’s around $2.20 at the moment. LWLG have created a polymer that enables much faster internet processing and other things and uses 10 x less power to do so. They have their polymer in 5 silicon foundries and 2 more are being added soon. The CEO basically said if things are meh, it would go to $100, if it becomes ubiquitous like he believes then it could reach $1000. I’ve no idea what the reality will be but I’m buying as it’s under $5 recently. Both stocks have groups on Reddit with lots of DD on them.

Nice! For anyone curious, there’s a mega DD thread over at r/LWLG that has everything you need to wrap your head around the company and technology. The company has one on one meetings lined up later this month at the Jefferies Semiconductor conference in Chicago. In September the company is presenting at two of Europe’s leading Photonics conferences. EPIC on September 8th and ECOC on September 19th. The presentations focus on integrating their propreitary polymer technology into high volume silicon foundries. LWLG recently provided guidance at their May shareholders meeting that at least two foundries are formally moving forward adopting their technology by the end of 2022. HUGE potential here and any major deal announcement will send the stock running.

Try your own research and investment thesis. Mine is (broadly) watching for pumps on ridiculous shit, then shorting it when it seems safe to do so (after 30 or 40% pumps). Gravity always takes hold with these things - like RDBX, IRNT, LWLG, etc.

Fantastic explanation of the tech PG! **1/3 of the power consumption in every blade of Data Centers worldwide where electronic signals are transformed to photonics ones**!! Tha's going to make a difference in Data Centers Billions $ OPEX. They won't pass on that one! Your contributions explain in details the "why" this is sometimes compared to investing in INTC in the 1970s: LWLG can become the equivalent of INTC for hybrid silicon/photonics platform, and full photonics systems in the future: remember that on the last presentation, **LWLG can fit 120 polymer modulators** where the most advanced competing platform (Thin Film Lithium Niobate) fits 8: **that's a 15x advantage in size, notwithstanding the MOAT of IP protecting the ease of manufacturing** in scaled up silicon foundries like Global Foundry Malta facility

LWLG's polymers provide a significantly lower modulator voltage for biasing device (Vpi). Low Vpi operation is a critically important parameter as there is a direct correlation to the amount of power required to operate the devices. Traditional LiNbO3 modulators have Vpi's up to 10V. The IP LWLG has recently been granted enable Vpi's as low as 0.5V. The lower Vpi allows the modulator to be driven directly from CMOS circuits and does not require amplification to boost the signal levels to higher voltages. The elimination of the amplifier reduces power, increases signal integrity and - consequently - provides increased optical bandwidth and faster data rates as well as price reductions. Here is a good App Note from ixBlue that describes what a Modulator Driver is in fairly good detail. http://photonics.ixblue.com/sites/default/files/2018-07/Introduction\_To\_Photline\_RF\_Drivers\_0.pdf The modulator Driver does two things, (1) it amplifies the incoming RF signal (the datastream) to the level that is optimized for the modulator (dependent upon the Vpi of the modulator). (2) it tracks the optimum DC bias point of the modulator (modulation dependent) and maintains the bias by tracking the output in a feedback loop to address operating point drift w.r.t. temperature, signal levels, electrode capacitance, etc. So the driver needs to have a very linear high bandwidth RF amplifier, DACs/ADCs, op-amps and a processor to do all these fine functions. The most power-hungry component in the Driver will be the RF Amp, typically using GaAs transistors. Linear amplifiers are notoriously inefficient (Class A). And - to be linear - need to be 'backed off' from their 1dB compression point (P1dB) by several dB. It is difficult (read expensive) to build a wideband RF amplifier that has linear characteristics, a flat passband and low noise. The difficulty in building a high-performance RF Amplifier is compounded as the bandwidth is increased. With LWLG's modulators approaching 100 GHz, this becomes an extremely challenging (expensive) endeavor. If the Vpi of the modulator is low enough, the incoming signal does not require amplification, which obviates the need for this expensive, power-hungry Driver component. Most Modulator Drivers require 12V to operate and consume prodigious amounts of power. Removing the need for the driver saves a LOT of power and expense. This is true regardless of whether the modulator is intensity or phase modulated (amplitude or phase modulation). Consequently, Direct Drive (Driverless) Modulators such as LWLG is marketing are a really, really big deal to the industry.

Buy and then HODL, winter is coming but before it knocks at the door LWLG will be way beyond 35$ PPS. Can't believe that some still think it's a good idea to short LWLG. Greed will lead to their downfall soon I'm sure!

Thanks for posting this. Another very nice summary of LightWave and where the company currently stands and why the Shorts might soon be in for a world of hurt with this one. As X often says, this is very much a sunrise company and the potential is beyond imagination. I'm thankful everyday to have discovered LWLG when I did (pre revenue) as I truly believe it is a once in a lifetime investment opportunity for me. I'm continually amazed and grateful for the very knowledgeable investors on Reddit and iHub who provide the best ongoing DD that I've ever come across for any publicly traded company. Also worth noting that a huge chunk of the O/S shares appear to be tightly held by a large group of local and international investors and add in all the new institutional ownership in the last year and it makes the actual shares available most likely a very small fraction of the less than 112 million shares currently outstanding. Very exciting times ahead! Thanks again :)

As TheRoc mentioned in his excellent post, Big Datacenters NEED to reduce their power bill. Cooling is inextricably linked to power dissipation. As such, any reduction in power dissipation at the plant will reduce cooling demand, along with the additional power needed to provide cooling. Please keep in mind, the actual power used by the modulator itself is negligible. Photonics modulators only draw nano-amps (10e-9) of current at low voltages. Since power is the product of volts x amps, the modulator will draw less than micro-watts (10e-6) of power. However, the supporting circuitry, namely the modulator driver, does require/dissipate a significant amount of power. Since LWLG modulators can be “Driverless”, that means this power-hungry driver device (one required for each modulator) can be eliminated, which may significantly reduce overall power consumption at the facility.

From theRoc on the LWLG sub: A couple well versed option-trading friends of mine also posted this recently about r/LWLG: "... the reason excitement has increased a lot over the last week is because the shorts can no longer sell 250,000 per day short. There are no shares available and the CTB has skyrocketed to 60+. What investors need to focus upon is the tremendous progress the company has made and the new timeline guidance given at the ASM. In addition, we have seen excellent results from initial production coming out of two foundries rather than our Denver lab. A few refinements and we are across the goal line! This is why shorting 9 million shares at a pace of 250,000 per day every day since the ASM ONLY dropped the stock from $8 to $6. The shorts were thinking they could knock it down to $1.50. They tried, but failed. That is the cause for increased excitement. The shorts failed to meet their goal and have begun unwinding their positions. The stock has bottomed FOREVER! In my opinion, we will stair-step our way to new highs by year end and there will be one or two days where the stock rises by $5 on 10 million shares." To which another answered: "Um 26 Million shares at $8.75 is $227,500,000 annual interest 78%, divide that by 365 days $632,289 per day. But only the retail short guys just learning the game are getting scalped."

From Scope on iHub LWLG board: This was posted the other day...based on X's numbers and 25% of shorted shares covering. 25% covering would raise the pps approx. $11.63 for a total pps of approx. $21.52 (based on 21,500,000 x 25% / 152,500 x $0.33) Based on numbers X provided, I'd imagine there would be a critical percentage of covering, where it would increase exponentially and start self-perpetuating. So based on those prior numbers, 100% covering would be 21,500,000 / 152,500 x $0.33 = $46.52 + current PPS $10 = $56.42 However, as I said, I believe there is a critical percentage of covering that would lead to a feeding frenzy and cause an exponential increase to the share price, especially considering the fact that they would only cover 100% due to an appropriate announcement or press release. I think a price target of $56 is a minimum, however I'm not qualified in short squeeze calculations so this is only a guess, based on numbers X was good enough to provide daily. I would add, my guess is 100% covering coupled with a PR would easily double or triple this number.

LWLG as info both Thursday and Friday the shorts borrowed 550k shares. On Thursday they only returned 375k shares so the net was an extra 175k shares that were shorted, stock closed down 33 cents to $9.65. On Friday they borrowed the same exact amount 550k shares but they returned 680k shares, an increase of 130k shares from the day before. Closed up 34 cents to 9.89. So they basically are in the hole a little deeper after Thursday and Fridays trading because the share price is about the same. It helps if we understand the direct correlation of the price to shares shorted daily as it is obvious from the above that the longs are not selling. The shorts are basically just playing with themselves. The beauty of this is that there are 21.5 million shares and we are at 10 frigging bucks a share. Ya baby. They have to make decisions daily, "do I cover, do I add money to my account or do I short more and get deeper in the hole" For the life of me I don't know what they were thinking. They shorted a company with a solution to today's slow silicon photonics materials, that is made in lab by a few lab cats, and will be mass produced in foundries that are already in place. Lightwave has 5 foundries working with it, numerous engineers, 2 more foundries waiting to begin production. And to mitigate risk it is in 2 different countries. Furthermore it reduces energy demand in the data centers, is so sensitive that it does not require a component in the data centers called a driver that boosts the signal, the green, green, green crowd will love it. And the US is about to throw money to foundries. Folks investments like this come along once in a lifetime. The shorts are standing next the bonfire with a leaking can of gasoline wondering what is going to happen. X

Do you have any idea how hard it is to even be tested by a foundry as a potential partner?!? 2 months ago, the company posted pictures of the components, produced by foundries, they are helping the foundries work on for mass commercialization to begin 2H22: and you say no revenue to come?!? Laughable! 3x the speed and 1/3 the power used by current tech in DCs!!! And you have lost 14 on other days. I am up HANDSOMELY on LWLG. My six figure realized gains on this company and six figures in unrealized gains think you are a pussy. But, by all means, enjoy hanging on on wallstreetbets and MAYBE coming out even. Loser.

You think a short seller doesn't do due diligence? Short selling is profitable, but highly dangerous. Do you know who HC Wainwright is? Maybe I am an idiot, sure. But I will be the idiot taking your money IF this thing pumps more (which it probably will, because there is a capital raise which will happen on the back of it), when the fundamentals take hold again. BTW this is why they call retail dumb. LWLG has been doing this for YEARS, and every year, a new set of bagholders hoves into view.

I made 14 grand yesterday, check my comment history. Today, only 3. I don't HAVE to short LWLG, but I will when the time is right. Then I will make more money off this shit company. I don't have to rely on hopium or a short squeeze or some other market mechanics, I just rely on fundamentals. This company has NEVER made money and it never will. On the pump, it will dilute (again) because it has no income apart from shareholders; THAT, my friend, is why there is a pump in the first place.

I dare you? What are you, 12? Oh and you actually understand the science, what a legend. You and your fellow idiots relying on 'short squeeze' hurr durr always lose money. I on the other hand, only have to get involved on the way down. And it works every single time. IRNT, RDBX, SKYH, etc etc. I have a list of 90 shit companies, and I only have to short the one which shoots to the top. Sometimes its LWLG, sometimes it isn't. But it works every time.

Good question. Honestly I’m not sure how this short battle will play out over the next few weeks. Shorts are facing a lot of pressure to cover so barring another major general market pullback, I’d expect continued upward trends. But of course there will be down days…it can’t always be up up up. We’re already experiencing this mild, slow short-exit (not calling it a real squeeze yet) a month after a major short attack. It’s wild. It just goes to show the accumulation is strong. Big news from the company is expected relatively soon…within a few months. Big money is entering the photonics industry and that won’t stop any time soon no matter what the overall market does. LWLG holds a critical piece to the next few decades of photonic technology progress. A polymer that can be added to existing optical modulation technology to triple the speed and cut power consumption in half. The IP protection is extremely robust. Look at the ticker OLED if you want to see the business model LWLG will have - licensing materials and transferring technology to device manufacturing partners. In LWLG’s case, a company like GlobalFoundries is an ideal partner. With that said…POET…another photonics company that has a novel packaging solution that makes it easier and cheaper to combine electronics and photonics at “wafer scale”, which basically means on a single chip in mass production facilities. I own shares there, too.

Oh fuck off. I've done all the DD I have to do because I have been shorting LWLG for months now. No open position ATM, but I am watching. My broker has 350k shares available to short. In my own words, this company makes money from its shareholders, and it's shareholders alone. It's trash. Pure and utter trash. But pump it up, when you do, I'll short it on the way down, as I always do. Love taking dollars from retards.

These shorts are clearly NOT looking at T/A … as LWLG chart looks VERY bullish now ! Triple bottom pattern in the making with a target of approx. $50 … let’s rock ![img](emote|t5_2qaj0q|6806)![img](emote|t5_2qaj0q|6806)![img](emote|t5_2qaj0q|6806)

Shorts are definitely under pressure. I posted about short interest in LWLG on this sub a few weeks ago. Buy volume is spiking up. I feel so baaad for the shorters on this one...NOT! LWLG is a great company with tremendous news soon to be released that will permanently launch the company in less than a few months.

A couple well versed option-trading friends of mine also posted this recently about r/LWLG: "... the reason excitement has increased a lot over the last week is because the shorts can no longer sell 250,000 per day short.

Thanks u/photonics_Guy ! For those who trade, in addition to those who invest, this will be a heck of a trade indeed! It's a long time coming, but the **first commercial agreements** are now within sight, as the first guidance ever was provided by Dr. M. Lebby, the CEO at Lightwave Logic (LWLG) , at the Annual Shareholder Meeting on May 26: Out of the seven (7) foundries the company has been working with since 2020 - per CEO-, two (2) are expected to go commercial between now and the end of this year (2022); three (3) more are expected by 1H2023. The May 26 presentation listed on u/KCCO7913 mega DD post -found [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/LWLG/comments/vljcbp/lightwave_logic_mega_due_diligence_thread/) \- includes **pictures of sub-components**, parts of complete transceiver architectures or other Photonic ICs (PICs), that were **manufactured by the said foundries**, not in $LWLG lab! They are close. Per description of Tom Caufield, CEO at Global Foundries, of the way he builds capacity in his fabs, it is not difficult to understand that there is a close certainty that the foundry samples shown, come from partnerships between the foundries and their customers (Tier 1 DC operators the likes of the FANGs - Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Google- or Communication giants DCs from Verizon, ATT...) after having evaluated the **benefits** of scaling up their network speeds from 25G to 50G per lane, as is the case in most DCs today, to the **100G to 150G** **per lane** offered by Lightwave Logic - ie **3x the speed** \- while using **1/3 the power** of legacy components!!! So in addition to the components being ready, the customers have already had a chance to try and qualify the newcoming generation of components to use them as soon as they come out of the manufacturing lines in the coming months: **the ramp-up will be lightning fast** as LWLG will not have the burden to build fabs to crank their offering out by the millions! And check out the size advantage of designing those new PICs with LWLG Electro-Optic modulators - again in the May 26 presentation- : **120 LWLG modulators** fit in the space currently required by 8 of the most advanced Thin Film Lithium Niobate competing modulators from Arista: a **15X size advantage**, that Dr. Lebby, CEO at LWLG says **will soon double again**!?! Go back to that Mega DD post and check out **the IP moat that the company built** from **the polymer material, the devices designs - modulators, transceivers, grating couplers...-, without forgetting how to simplify the fabrication processes at the foundries, including poling and packaging**, which had historically been achieved by using actual Gold boxes: no wonder Dr. Lebby, feels comfortable declaring that the field advantage newly exposed by the use of polymers will allow him **to seize the lead and keep it for decades** coming!!! Maybe such a plan will sound familiar to those of you old enough to remember how the first computers were built: in 1971, Intel launched the first integrated micro-processor, replacing the traditional discrete transistors. Today, with their polymers, LWLG is allowing the scaling up in foundries of a new type of ICs, merging the power of CMOS electronics with the benefits of photonics. **LWLG is about to become the Intel of the 21st century**! How does it begin: Targeted Verticals and TAMs: Existing markets for immediate targeting: 5G systems/back haul/RF \~$4-10B Existing per presentation Fiber comms \~$40-60B Existing per presentation HPC/computational/AI \~$10-20B Existing per presentation DCI/datacenter \~$20-30B Existing per presentation Additional future markets are: Display/project \~$5-20B Yes Automotive (LIDAR) \~$20-50B Yes Optical sensing/3D \~$2-5B Yes Bio-photonic sensing \~$2-5B Yes Using the existing markets only, totaling to a **TAM opportunity of between $74B and $120B**, it is not difficult to estimate that a quick uptake of a technology that was vetted enough for several fabs to dedicate time and $$$ to produce samples, could within a matter of years achieve 5% to 10% **market share \~ $3.5B to $12B**. It doesn't seem unrealistic that they could reach $1B within the next couple years... Assuming **30% net margin**, remember this starts mostly as a fabless endeavor, \~$300M EPS \~ $2.7 with the **current share count at 110M shares** PE , **50x PE** doesn't sound extravagant for such a groundbreaking tech, ie \~ **$130/Sh within a couple years**!!! A heck of a squeeze trade indeed...

You got it. I just posted a due diligence mega thread over on r/LWLG. Been invested for a very long time. The next 12 months should be even more exciting than the past 12.

Here’s my take on last years stock run up. Posted a few months ago in the LWLG subreddit. “I’ll tell you exactly why. At their annual shareholder’s meeting in May of this year, they finally revealed their commercialization plan which is to be integrated into foundry PDK’s which is basically like a “menu” of options chipmakers can choose various “ingredients”/designs from. The thinking is that when given the choice, chipmakers will naturally choose the fastest and most efficient modulator available for their PICs (LWLG’s). Then about two weeks after the shareholders meeting, EPIC posted a video on Youtube between LWLG and GlobalFoundries discussing bringing photonics to foundries. That startled many long time shareholders, in a very good way. Prior to the shareholders meeting during the first half of 2021, the stock crept up in price to around $2 per share. I’d attribute that to various investor presentations, receiving key patents allowing “mass commercialization”, and LWLG being included in high level industry roadmap planning. Despite what others say, LWLG has spent the last several years working with specific partners designing the platform based on the end-user needs. Again, the thinking is that once the PDK with LWLG’s technology is available, it’s game time and we go from “silent mode” to full on mass production. LWLG doesn’t publicly disclose alphas/betas, or even call it that. This year the tone of the company has become wildly confident and they’ve repeatedly described that the technology will become “ubiquitous”.”
