I still think SMR is a good bet because the coin is so illiquid. If you take the chance now you will do really well, you just have to be patient.
I bought some SMR before the EVM launch expecting a pump and have been disappointed so far. I haven't used the network yet but I am looking forward to trying it out. With a few prominent CEX listings we might see some nice gains here.

Figure out how to use iotabee-metamask and firefly for Shimmer EVM soon and smr. You can then swap or add liquidity between anything that is listed on shimmer EVM which includes a working bridge from sETH to ETH and a swap between sETH and any token on ShimmerSea which you can also provide liquidity for in any combination you want. They just make it hard to find the custom token addition for liquidity pools .

ATL is too high. Hathor does tokenization fee free. Iota does tokenization fee free. SMR does tokenization refundable storage deposit aka fee free. There is no excuse for ethereum to have fees at all when much of the returns are from inflating their token supply anyway.

Probably most will never return to its ATH, mainly because most of them are money grabs or they have high token inflation, which also makes them, basically, a money grabber. On the other hand, there are cryptos which try to solve problems and provide value which we should care. Link or IOTA/SMR are few.
Keep an eye on Shimmer network and the SMR token. Their EVM is likely to be released next month. This could reignite the IOTA flame, because they would finally have the ability to build an ecosystem with everything DeFi and NFT degens need to have fun. Lots of dapps are already lined up for launch. Good opportunity to make a quick buck.
I agree with you - price action was mostly disappointing so far, but at the same time I think there are good reasons to think that it won't stay like that forever: 1. Shimmer is just now starting to participate in the DeFi space and already attracted a lot of builders (Soonaverse, ShimmerSea, TangleSwap, IotaBee, Deepr, Lendexe - to name just a few). This means more activity on the main net and new use cases for IOTA & SMR coins (improving tokenomics). 2. UX is great - transactions are very fast and feeless and the fees for smart contract execution are pretty much guaranteed to remain very low due to the multi-chain L2 system (horizontal scalability). 3. Full decentralization is no longer far away (vast majority of work required is already done and proven), I wrote a bit more about that in my reply to u/yester_philippines 4. IOTA Foundation now also has a for-profit Swiss entity, which means that for the first time ever they are allowed to do marketing.

Given you could do an EFT funds transfer for more than that without any problems I can't see that this is an actual problem. Every time I opened a bank account in the past the documentation I was given always stated that if I wanted to do a large cash withdrawal then I needed to give the bank prior notification before I did so. I'm guessing they are just making sure you're not being scammed and they probably didn't have that amount of cash at that point in time. The tokenomics for SMR are really good. Most of the supply was airdropped to IOTA stakers, and almost all of them immediately sold it. It is in a great bottoming formation right now and has been for a while. If you want to front run the launch you can only buy it on a handful of exchanges right now, but it is a great bet for the next bull run. I am hoping to 10x at least.
Thanks not heard of this one will check out the olde whitepaper, the low marketcap at first glance is nice easy 20x if the use case pops off ++ next bullrun. I didn’t mention any specific coin as don’t want to be a “shill”, but other notable projects that could benefit from digital id era are: IOTA + SMR (okok I know a lot of folks hate on this but I would implore you to look up the ZEBRA-IOTA SDK and see how supply chain giants and the EU are seriously considering using digital id on DAGs for digital kyc passports and digital product passports, even if not iota but creating their own, they tested use cases using iota. MATIC (built a digital id layer) ICP (web2->web3 id layer) CCD (forced KYC digital id to even interact with the chain ie take coins off exchange to gui wallet) Interestingly CCD was working with Greenland government on a blockchain voting system but think it might have been a white labelled solution with transactions not happening on CCD chain itself. You should expect all popular chains to add digital identity as a use case though as things go in the crypto world of copypasta.

I really like IOTA and it's "tangle" chain with no fees. But they are so fricking slow. I know they released SMR and are planning to do more stuff but it's feels so slow and I don't think it will ever come back. But yeah I'm down a bit and still HODL but I don't think it will return to ATH

If you’re in IOTA still friend then get some SMR and SOON if you haven’t already. I got some heavy bags on all things iota ecosystem as believe DAG is future for real world use cases, feeless asset transfers. SOON marketcap is very low and it’s a gamble but if everything works out with iota it will blow for sure. 83% of supply is already staked and locked in for a year.
They've been making a lot of development progress but unfortunately have sunk to 71st place in market cap. I swapped IOTA for other projects for the time being but am intending on coming back to the project. Still holding the SMR & ASMB staking rewards.

There will be fewer miners. We already have magnitudes more hashrate than necessary to secure the money. Satoshis will be very valuable. Sense the money is scarce, the cost of everything else trends slightly downward over time. By 2043, it will still be worth it to mine in order to get even a small amount of Sats. Perhaps only the methane and gas flare miners will be the only ones still running because of the external benefits to society from such miners. By 2043, the energy picture will be wildly different than it is now. We'll likely have many nuclear fusion plants, and thousands of SMR's around the world. And finally, this will happen slow enough that it can be addressed in time. People in 2120 will have a FAR better picture about the consequences of no block reward than we can. Those people can always decide to approve a hard-fork to address the issue. It's actually an incredibly simple problem to solve, and you're acting like it's a big deal-breaker for Bitcoin???

OK so you guys probably missed some crazy action this week. Someone was buying $soon for 2x the price on [iotabee.com](https://iotabee.com) . This caused a green candle price spike to the moon on bitforex. IOTA is rising for god knows what reason. SMR is pumping after almost crossing 0.07. Back to 0.07 vs hateful 0.08. Might as well call it a stable coin. Meanwhile A massive 2-5% of DGPR supply was sold on DEX iotabee for pennies... The ecosystem with over 500 newly minted coins on an instant fee free network and two DEX is exploding and I think the community should keep up with it.

I think we lost focus. The ideal dream. Bankless, instant, scalable, fee free, payments with limited supply to fight inflation along with a network so decentralized that miner centralization is not a thing. That was/is/should be the goal. Give the money back to the people. If you invest in Ethereum altcoins, it may be pointless as many are just Ethereum clones with a new name. However, let us look at real progress here. Bitcoin LN means more centralization but smaller fees. Then Hathor does the same as bitcoin but has zero fees and does tokenization like Ethereum and is instant. IOTA founders then said we can fix miner centralization but failed to solve its own centralization. Then iota foundation released a coordicide network before iota 2.0 called shimmer (SMR) that is fee free, fast, does tokenization, but most importantly scales without miners aka infinitely scalable without the miner centralization. So here we are now. We have fee free instant transaction tokens. One of them Hathor is faster, fee free, and scales but might have bitcoin's miner centralization issues. However, Shimmer (SMR) is a bit slower, but is also fee free, has limited supply, and scales infinitely with zero miner centralization. The last leg of our crypto journey will likely be iota 2.0 which will have to compete in speed with Hathor (HTR). If you want more than scam coins and market cap spamming. This is where the limit of the tech is and this is meaningful because now we can send money around the world without fees. We can tokenize homes and stocks and commodities without fees or a broker. This is what makes the world a better place. And it will only get better if we can see beyond the tribalism and advance the tech. We are getting there!
Shimmer still acting like a stablecoin. Meanwhile the fee free SMR is minting coins faster than Ethereum to create a parallel fee free ecosystem.

I have never seen bears lose so much so fast in an effort to try and keep SMR price down and fail. 0.07 vs hateful 0.08. Am I reporting shimmer as a stable coin now? Do we even need to tokenize fiat on it!
We have a lot of fee free crypto technology that should have been more mainstream by now. Nano/Hathor/Iota/Fleta/Shimmer (SMR) By far shimmer and iota are the most advanced and user friendly. Hathor still remains cheaper for token creation. I hope that is an unbiased look at the fee free cryptoverse. I have no idea which one will become that standard but likely one of them will.

IOTA/Hathor/SMR/Nano all are fee free instant payment networks that will stamp out any competition with coins charging you to send money which after over 10 years it is insane they even charge you a cent to use bitcoin and ethereum. We have fee free instant options that do defi and dapps.

I love clickbait like this. SMR is not a zombie. Shimmer (SMR) has a better DEX then uniswap and is releasing new content every month. Ethereum is a zombie. But it was a first mover so it is expected it would be more experimental than professional.

Iota = centralied SMR is a fork = decentralized 1a Bitcoin = miner centralization and satoshi 5% bagholder 1b SMR = every sender including DEX traders are validators for fee free transactions 2a Bitcoin miners lose money the more they use semi centralized lightning network. 2b SMR is faster than bitcoin lightning and still decentralized with zero miner centralization. Understand now kiddo? SMR is a bitcoin Killer. IOTA 2.0 is still a promise but SMR is the real deal.

Why don't you guys promote transaction free coins as much as bitcoin even though they are often better for the environment and more efficient? Coins like iota, hathor, nano, SMR often get no press by anyone yet the function so much better. It makes no sense. why don't you guys push them more to the public?

Just SMR it is fee free and better than paypal... also robinhood accepts crypto so you can flip it into any coin to cash out. Ideally they would accept the fee free coins for transactions daily and use bitcoin as storage
