GH and NTRA have had several approvals/reimbursement wins this year. Not all that close to NEO or VCYT but it seems like their core businesses are humming. TWST and ILMN are derivative plays on the industry so makes sense they'd be up too, though ILMN is more of a complicated product cycle/China story. MRVI is borderline special sits. You're 100% right on the rates argument. But also if you're an institution its much easier to be long Dx vs core tools (typically grouped together) given valuations there and the constant head fake rebounds. Also assume people are starting to shift some money within HC out of biopharma after the YTD run, and Dx gives you some similar factor exposure. Haven't seen much spec dx discussion on reddit since covid, good shit

r/smallstreetbetsSee Comment

Research the M&A that happened in the last year, you’ll see real money is flowing back and the valuations are rising. To name a few tickers I personally mentioned here this year: OBIO (at 2.40), ATAI (at 2.05), CMPS (~3), MRVI (2.20), all had even higher highs. The only one of those I’m still holding is OBIO, but the stock I’m really high and long on is DRTS

r/pennystocksSee Comment

Of course nobody has only wins, but u/pristine_hurry_4693 has given me BBAI at 2.71, OBIO that moved a bit, MRVI that is down this week but he’s been onto it since about 2$, SRFM, said CMPS will bounce back after it recently got cut in half, ATAI which is the same category, he got me onto Quantum, he’s been preaching Bitcoin since 34K (at least that’s when I heard it from him), I got the CYN run and MLGO (even though that one I miss timed), you get the point… of course I use my own discretion and lately he’s harping on DRTS only, but he’s good

r/stocksSee Comment

USAR **shh don’t tell anyone** there’s so many, but the five off top of my head: APLD, SEI, MRVI, INOD, AMBA(right now). So many more. Biggest wins have been GOGO, INZY were on there until the skyrocketed and we got out. Those were insane.

MRVI - Solid across the board. Their numbers are misleading if you don't dig into their reports & earnings calls. Criminally undervalued rn. RCAT - Valuation wise there should be about 10-20% juice left to squeee before becoming overvalued (note that bull races are volatile tho and can overshoot or short term collapse). I'm on the fence of getting in, if short term consolidates within few days and technicals are good I might.

Totally agree with your take on $MRVI—this is definitely one of those underappreciated gems. The drop in stock price post-COVID is understandable given the decreased demand for mRNA vaccines, but the market seems to be overlooking the long-term potential of CleanCap and the broader applications of their technology. Before the pandemic, their innovative capping technology was a key differentiator in the biotech space, and that hasn’t changed. As the world shifts focus back to other vaccine development and biopharma applications, $MRVI could be poised for a rebound. Definitely a strong pick if you’re willing to take a long-term view on the stock. Interested to see when the market catches up!

I'll be keeping a close eye on several biotech companies, especially MRVI after their possible acquisition news on Friday. It has a lot of room to run this week if the terms of the offer are announced soon. I believe it's unlikely to be accepted as they've turned down offers in the past but the run up could be quite eventful. It's been a rather volatile stock lately, strong support near $8 and strong resistance at $10. I don't see it passing $10 until terms are known, especially since it didn't pass it after 700% increase in volume. Position: 10000s of shares Stop loss: ~$9.10 Exit plan: pending offer details, but expecting to close 25% of my position at $11, 50% at $12-13, and 25% hold

Not that anyone cares, but I’ve been getting really lucky with timing the last month or so. Sold DOCN before earnings. Sold off ZS after earnings and rolled it in to PATH which has had a nice earnings bump. Took a small ALUR position and sold 60% up. Pretty much killed off warrantfolio with minimal losses and moved a big chunk to SKIN last week/yesterday. Biggest mistake was selling THRN on initial deal rumor which left 60% on the table, and buying MRVI before their earnings (~20% tax harvest). Did also lose ~20% on ORGN too, but only had 100 shares to keep an eye on so not much $. What moves are you all making/watching?

I did some more research. I've found that Biotechne said this in their latest earnings webcast: "M&A remains a top priority for capital allocation." Biotechne recently acquired Lunaphore. They need to borrow \~$2B if they want to acquire MRVI, assuming they are allowed to draw from their revolving credit facility and the addition $400M and allowed to use the capital for the acquisition. Maravai has alot of cash which is nice for Biotechne. It seems logical for Biotechne to aquire Maravai, as they are in the same space(?) (from last maravai conference call) "However, even with our revenue base being the lowest we've seen in almost three years, our margin is still very strong when compared to most companies in our space, including much larger and mature companies. In fact, when we look at the selection of six companies that have reported here already in Q1 2023 and had adjusted EBITDA, including, in alphabetical order: Avantor, Bio-Techne, Danaher, Repligen, Sartorius and Thermo Fisher" (Sartorius offered $42/sh for Maravai in 2022). I think it seems logical for Biotechne to acquire Maravai. The question is whether Maravai will accept or reject the proposal. I believe they will probably reject it, given theyve rejected all other offers (Sartorius, Thomas H. Lee) This is all speculation. probably the next earnings report will provide more information.

Sold NVTS, may regret it, but hard for me to argue that it’s worth half what it’s skyrocketed up to right now. Put some in to a ORGN, maybe with some actual revenue the market will take a liking. The rest to MRVI which I feel should be finding a bottom with decent financials off the post covid boom and new CEO starting next month. Just think too much takeover interest to not get some market support, and a decent way to play the mRNA pipeline across all.

I’ve been watching MRVI for a while, but concerned they pulled forward too much growth. They’re only looking for 10-12% yoy next year, what’re your views on their go forward?

Mentions:#MRVI
r/stocksSee Comment

MRVI- They make biochemistry products, mostly in amino acid chemistry. Their subsidiary Glen Research is excellent: low lead-times, consistently good quality product, good customer support, aggressive invoicing strategy. They get paid, and their YoY growth shows it. They've taken on a lot of debt, but they have the cash on hand to cover it. They're in an aggressive growth phase since their IPO about a year ago, and while their SEC filings have been excellent (consistently beating expectations) their stock price has struggled to stay much above $35 recently due to a secondary offering.

I bought $MRVI when the went IPO last November for $26.50. It's not $45. It was higher but they did a second offering in September, which pissed me off because it was at $66. Still if you want one to hold long term, this is a good one. They are involved with mRNA tech, so all the people taking the fauci sauce are paying this company in some way, and their tech is used in gene therapy cancer treatment. Before they went IPO, they were posting losses, but the losses were "decreasing", and they weren't too terribly over leveraged. They've made money every quarter and beat earnings. So yeah, I expect them to do very well long term.

When it comes to exits, my losses are set at the time i ENTER the position. What does this look like? I buy a stock, and then IMMEIDATELY place a stop market to sell when it falls into an area i never expect the stock to be. Since i only buy stocks near highs, this becomes easy. When the stock falls below the range that I was buying it for, i am out. Another way to put it, when the stock is doing something I didnt plan for, im out. Some recent examples (and i get a lot of stops hit, because i enter a lot of positions) MRVI out at 55.01, MLNK 24.51, CFLT out at 62.01 (this ones going to burn me and go thru highs, i can tell, and thats ok!) As for CRSR, Im actaully in this stock, but i only hold 1 unit, when at one point i had 8 units. Of course, my entry is from 19s and 25. I mostly sold everything in the mid 30s when the stock went parabolic. Commonly when a stock has a BIG move in a short period of time, im going to sell a lot of it. But because the market is what it is, i always hold a bit, no matter where it goes. This is probably why I own over 40 stocks right now. (Yes, all have stops and are self managed) Back for more later.

YOLO stock of the year is 4XSM. Stock down from $51.00 two weeks ago on FDA letter. However, August 22 PDUFA date did not result in AXS-05 denial or Complete Response Letter. FDA is still reviewing this multi focused treatment for depression, smoking and Alzheimer agitation. If drug is approved analysts have targets as high as $165. The downside is, if FDA does eventually reject AXS-05 the stock could take a five to ten dollar hit. And that's big. But the risk / reward of over five to one makes this a worthwhile Super Bet. Plus, the biggest benefit to holding this stock is, AXS-05 application is only for the depression. The other two are still in trials with positive results. There are also two more high quality drugs in the pipeline. I am long at $28.00, $27.10 and $23.35. We could see a four times return as soon as this week. But yes, there is risk. And yes, I am the same trader that told you to buy MRVI at $36.00. Now $60.00.

Hi all, if you took that MRVI trade I called at $35 to $39, now would be a good time to trim about half the position ahead of earnings tonight. Near term $50.00 plus price targets have been hit. The co. could have another great report tonight, but there could be a sell the news reaction. Advice is, hold half for the possibility of a run to a run to $60.00. Then add back on any weakness. OF course, pay attention to the language of guidance. I would not be selling all of this as we still have a significantly higher target. Happy trading. New Pick: AXSM - But this is a longer hold as stock has to reset their AXS-05 NDA position with FDA. Short term volatility in this one. It could go anywhere from here, either to $40-$50 or $20. I would, and have been buying in small parts. Co. has PDUFA date this August 22, but is not expected to advance until certain questions are clarified. But all indications from trial data point to minimal adjustments before the great reset and return to the runway to commercialization.
