this seems overly complicated. I'd narrow it down to maybe 3-56ETFs for the bulk of the portfolio. if the goal is to generate income, maybe one or two ETFs each for US stocks, international stocks, and muni bonds. maybe a bit in master limited partnerships or other alternatives. maybe even half or mostly in munis, with $2 million you could generate a lot of tax-free income and use the other half to generate growth. Not sure why you took my comment as combative. I apologize if it came off that way. I appreciate your comments and I’ll do my best to continue the constructive conversation. I genuinely assumed you hadn’t read any of my main bulleted points. If the writing is unclear I will try to do better to clarify what I think I know. The argument for revenues that I made was based on simple logic. Toray has treated over 300 000+ patients to date with the PMX cartridges. I assume they didn’t supply the materials for their treatments for free. Yes, it is a razor blade model. I believe $7000 per column with 2.5 columns needed for a single treatment. I did not go into detail on how much they’ve made but assumed it must have been substantial given the pricing model. I admit I haven’t looked into whether those sales are increasing but can note that 100 000 additional patients have been treated since 2016 so it would appear that adoption on that side of the word is increasing. There are 0 alternatives in the US right now. If you read my reply to your first post again you will notice that the “marketing” of the product is de risked. Baxter has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Spectral that includes a mimimim purchase agreement. I found this to be important for 2 reasons. #1 baxter has marketing and sales experience that the company would take many years to acquire. #2 A multinational like Baxter would never partner or put their name behind a product that they thought was a waste of time.

First if you are going to post a DD you have to have thicker skin as NOTHING I said was inflammatory. Next, Toray which makes money does most of its revenue outside of life sciences subdivision. A quick look on their website shows the whole life science division makes up 53 billion of the 1,883 billion YEN from their whole life science division. So do you know how much of that 53 billion YEN they make from this one device (PMX) per year? Any idea if those sales have been increasing over those last 10 years? Both would be an indirect idea of potential revenue and how useful it is in real world application. Maybe commenting on how folks make money off it. Is it a razor blade model? One time purchase of machine and then recurring charges for the disposable parts per pt? The other aspect is there is NO derisking yet. As you clearly know ANY medical product or drug is not derisked until they get FDA approval. Considering the device has failed already once in phase 3 it is an indication there is no guarantee (far from it at this point). The only "derisking" is IF it is approved thus the risk in the approval. It is full risk just like every biotech play until approval or not.
