What are your thoughts on small cap commercial biotech? Quite a few look very attractive but the market doesn't think so. From my side, you're not relying on data catalysts as such and its really just a case of commercialisation going well. Off the top of my head things like HROW, ETON, Delcath, LQDA, ABEO, SLNO.

I held SLNO for a few years at a couple bucks after a reverse split and then one day it shot up to $45 due to an obesity drug. only had 200 shares of that but praying for something similar with ATOS.

2005 shares at $1.01, nothing better than making money and f#cking cancer at the same time. I held SLNO for a few lean years and a 7:1 reverse split leaving me 200 shares at around $4 but checked in it one day ro fine one of their drugs was found to stop the appetite of obese people and the stock was trading at $25, not being used to such gains and the rest of my holdings crapping the bed i paperhanded the 200 shares at $23. only to see it get up to over $50 a few days later and its settled into the high 40s. ATOS is eventually going to beat its all time high of around $117 and when it does I am still going to be holding 2000+ shares I have some 10/18 $2 calls that I definitely plan on exercising to gain shares. Have faith and keep buying!
$SLNO, bought $0.80-2. sold $22 $GNUS, bought $0.80-$1.20, sold $6-10 More but I forgot the tickers Biggest penny stock loss $8k on $OCGN. $1 averaged down to about $0.40, sold around $0.22. 1month later it went to $18+
I had SLNO through a reverse split and held it at like $2 for a couple years. a few months ago I check my account and pow! it was up to $24 where after I had been beaten down so long I paperhanded it at $23 and change only for it to go up to $52 and settle in the $49 area. I learned my lesson with fingers crossed fir the same with over 2000 shares of ATOS at a buck each.
I've been holding this for a couple years, primed for either a buyout or big jump like I recently had with SLNO. I won't sell covered calls on my ATOS either.
I had a .50 call that I bought a couple weeks ago rather than keep it on option. I had been holding SLNO for a long time and even through a reverse split and I went to over $20 a shate and I paperhanded it at $24 and its been uo to $52 since (thank gawd they didn't have options on it) so I'm taking that lesson and holding on the my 100 Ocugen and hope for the best. props to the company though. eyesight is so important and hopefully they are on a path to cure blindness.

SLNO is up 1500% for the past 12 months. Why don’t you just invest in that since your strategy is to just buy good performers and Amazon underperforms that?
Of course, exit price minus entry price is profit or loss. But I do not understand how that helps inform a profitable strategy over the long run. I aim for minimum 1:3 RR on all my trades, but that would not be terribly successful in the long run if I didn't have some trades do *much* better than expected. For instance, SLNO is a recent swing for me and so far the RR on this trade is about 1:15 and still going. If I can get at least five of these a year, and ensure that I manage risk religiously on my losing trades, it is a highly profitable system despite a win rate of less than 50%.
Just do it the right way and use scanners and a news feed... not hard to find the stocks that have gapped up vs previous close, and any news out on them... I found this stock when it was like 55 cents in the premarket and traded it til the open, then cashed in multiple times throughout the day and even as it went to over $11!!! It's worth the cost of scanners. And whoever said this happens like 5 times a year, lmao, totally wrong. It's happened like 4 times since June! SLNO just did basically the same thing like 3 weeks ago, and there was another right after like 2 days later... Want better results, get better information right???

Interesting list. Some of some could form some interesting breakout setups again. Most just broke out on friday and definitely need to calm down first and SLNO just closed below the 10d MA, a classic selling point. The full list however has some much more interesting candidates, including some funny ones like USEA. The company was founded almost exactly one year ago and listed in July. They announced a $3M buyback at a price of $1 and then a $1 dividend at a price of $3 :D But all are only for very tiny accounts. The dollar volume is obviously very low, so definitely use limit orders if you are crazy enough to play any of them :)
I have a bunch. Mostly penny biotechs. I usually try to wait until there is some positive news and sell into the rally. A recent example is SLNO. I sold the rally but still down big.

Penny stocks are flying showing much resilience in a falling market. A 99.58% rise for SLNO followed by 39.67% rise in OLB with CHEK, the last among the 10 stocks on the screen, up by 13.87% just shows the killing these stocks made.

Last year (my first year in trading) I did pretty good on my purchases and sales. However, by December I was faced with your dilemma. Three penny stocks were underwater: AITX, SLNO, RLLCF to the amount of about $10k. I sold at a loss and took the tax deductions. Since only $3000 is allowed to be deducted each year, I still have 2 years I can deduct on that. I reentered the market in March and started selling in May. I learned a lot since then and I never buy on hype ( which I did with $AITX). I use simplywallstreet.com, and several different resources to get deeper insights on a company, and I do as much DD as I can. This year, in approx. 2 months (May to mid-June) I have made over $13k so far as I am making better decisions. My advice would be to sell and claim the loss...and never buy on hype. Do due diligence. I don’t know a thing about SLNO but zooming out on their chart it looks like the definition of a money pit. Sinking ever closer to zero for years. A few scenarios could occur: - they go bankrupt or get delisted - they announce something positive and you can exit on a spike. Act fast or set a limit. - they get bought at a share price that may or may not be above your cost basis Generally my strategy has been: if I don’t have a deep understanding of what the company does, where their profit comes from, what their edge is over the competition, etc, I won’t buy it. Not even for short swings. I’ve been caught too many times trying to gamble and time stuff. The losses sting hard and the wins are never enough.
Couldn't agree more. So would you isolate several stocks you fundamentally believe in that offer significant growth and are undervalued while dropping the rest? OR would you just keep a steady eye on the future and maintain course? I was interested in SLNO, and cant figure out if thats an investment opportunity or a money pit

I’ve learned not to rely too much on “analyst” ratings, in addition to having a promising product coming I also try to look at their financials. When I’m looking, the biggest thing I look at is how much cash they have on hand and how much they are burning through per quarter. That can tell me if they will need to be raising capital in the near future or not, generally by selling more shares and bringing the stock price down. Not advice, just some DD that has worked for me since I started using it. Of the ones you listed, I still am in ADMA and sell CC’s while I wait for something to happen, and AZRX had a reverse split I believe which killed their stock price (I sold at a loss around that time. I have some cheap $1 calls on SLNO.

My account has been bleeding every day except for when A) GME went to 300 the second time and B) when SLNO went to 1.5 I sold at the peaks of both and those gave my account green for the year, but then it was just death by a million paper cuts outside of that Sold all my stocks to help finance a move to NYC next month. I fully expect all my positions I had to go up 5% a day since selling.
I'm sorry, but there is no way I would recommend taking advice from me. The last guy mentioned SLNO, so I asked him why he was interested, which he said it was based on the research the company was doing. So it was just a quick debate on whether the medical research was promising or not...nothing about financial analysis of the company. Even on the grounds of medical research, I am not qualified, but the research results done by people who ARE qualified, had mediocre results. Add in the fact that the medicine targets a very small percentage of the population, and I just get the impression that even if it were more effective, it still does not have much of a market. And market potential is what drives the profits.

Sold SLNO when it was up 50% so quite happy about that. Overall only up like 2% on the $150 I put in but glad I got it back.
