michael saylor seems to have thrown in the towel. crypto is depressed. Is saylor buying more? Nope. Is saylor selling? Yup. The last two months strategy has not bought a single coin, yet, strategy is selling to pays its preferred dividends. Right now, I think strategy has four preferred stocks that are all based on the exact same assets, seems like some financing voodoo is going on in my opinion. He raised capital with those four preferreds but he is now using the cash to pay the preferreds. strategy has $4,600,000,000 in cash. Strategy has enough cash to pay its dividends, currently. 380,000,000 shares of STRC will be paid $380,000,000 in August 4,600,000,000 - 380,000,000 = $4,220,000,000 On September 1 STRK 14,000,000 shares pays $2.00 dividend every quarter March, June, September, December STRF 13,000,000 shares pays $2.50 dividend every quarter March, June, September, December STRD 12,000,000 shares pays $2.50 dividend every quarter March, June, September, December In september, $62,500,000 paid for STRD and STRF, $28,000,000 paid for STRK, and $380,000,000 paid for STRC for a total of $470,500,000 On October 1 3,369,500,000 cash on hand On November 1 2,989,500,000 cash on hand On December 1 2,609,500,000 cash on hand On Jan 1 2,139,000,000 cash on hand In five months, MSTR is going to payout over 50% of its cash on hand. Is that sustainable? By the end of 2027, MSTR will be out of cash. Either saylor issues more preferreds so he can pay off the existings,(does this sound like a ponzi scheme) or does he sell more bitcoin? Or does he sell all the bitcoin and just invest in the S&P 500? Going to be an interesting time for strategy and saylor. He really needs the momo investors to come back to crypto, but they are chasing AI now.
