You like MELI? I’m waiting on YPF to skyrocket
I am new to stocks and I have bought YPF Loma Negra and Pampa Energia, which other ones do you recommend?
Argentinian here. With Milei winning the midterm elections we now have lot of tailwinds. I'm up 100% since last week. It's a little late now to buy. But if you plan to hold it for a few years it's a great opportunity. Specially in banks like GGAL and the energy sector VIST, YPF and PAM.
Damn I was right on YPF just a month too early
Most of my holdings are in long-range slow growth; gold, silver, industrial equipment, farm equipment. In my efforts to pick money-makers, I have worked off the assumption that when government is selling something that people don't need, or shorting something that they do need, I am not fast enough to capitalize off of the artificial bubble. So my strategy is to do the opposite of what government claims will be the winners and wants to be the winners. I've avoided playing with the big bad pharmeceutical companies or big tech, in part from lack of confidence in my ability to ride bubbles, and in part from the simple ethical quaesion of what is right to invest in -- and for me, that means those things that regular folks use to live thier lives as they are right now, or might realistically make those lives better in the near future. I've been betting on FRO (Frontline; oil tankers) since Early lockdown days (Nov 2020) when valued about $7 -- the harder the US government has worked to keep the US government has worked to keep people from producing oil, the more certain I was that in order to survive winters and get to work people would need to ship in oil. It's gone during that time from $7.50 to $23, with a high of $27. I still have money in Frontline, but not as much since other stocks have caught my eye. In August 23 I started betting on YPF - The Argentine state-run oil company, immediately after Millei's election. And it's done quite well for a while but hasn't yet been privatised; it's moved from about $11 to $25 over the course of a year, has gone as $45 but is back to \~$25. I'm still holding some, but I moved a lot out, as the possibility of full privatisation began to look like itwould only happen further in the future. I moved a lot into IONQ (quantum computing) in April and so far it's moved from \~$25 to \~$75.
YPF to the moon on October 27th or to the hell!
What you think about YPF? Could that see gains with current events
GSK and YPF Bullish for policy reasons
Bullish: IBM, GSK, YPF, TLRY, PSKY, HTZ, anything with drones, AMPX Hold: SoFI AAPL Google GLD GDXJ uranium quantum Might sell: some fake overvalued companies that have AI in their description
Brazil is apart of Brics and they jailed Bolsonaro Venezuela is on our shit list We are best buds with Argentina I guess Bought some YPF and put some popcorn in the microwave
I mostly look for swing trades. Strictly chartwise, YPF would be okay if it drops below 24 again, but it's on a long-term decline, so be careful. GSK is better for long-term and has some good volatility.
Any chart wizards who can shed light on some growth for YPF or GSK
Big on PSKY and SOFI Anything with the word Quantum or Uranium YPF for Argentina stuff GSK for Wellcovoroin (ivermectin for autism) TLRY for the 420 vibes, also for weed reclassification Drones cause of war (RCAT/ONDS) GDXJ seems to be my stable golden child What I’m not big on are fake companies like Costco who provide no real services like data centers or generative AI sex robots
We appear to be starting some shit with Brazil, and Venezuela and Argentina looks like a friend so I bought a lil YPF - I dk
Calls on Argentina, bought some YPF
What do you think of GSK, wellcovorin company aka the Ivermectin of Austism Or YPF, Argentinian ADR that might benefit most from US stimulus
Hola en esto de inversiones, quisiera algunos consejos para empezar. Soy de Argentina y uso IOL. I'm starting with 30k ar$, it's a lot but now it's what it is. I would like to start investing in something safe or to generate a small cushion to be able to go for more risky investments in the future. I tried to search on YouTube for some guide or something to know where to start but there is a very small problem, how do I know that they don't want to see my stupid face? So I turn here to see if they can give me a hand. But from what I was able to investigate, apart from the sp500, other options would be YPF or Visa, but before doing anything I would like a little help and some guidance. Total thanks
According to Grok YPF is short 6,710%
$YPF dropping 5% anyone knows why ?
Vist and YPF are growing like crazy, huge opportunity.
All in on YPF One of the biggest oil sources in a country that's extremely far away from conflict? Yes please
YPF post earnings before my penis shrinks any further
Over the past couple of months I've come to the same conclusion as you. If we look at comparable historic events (economic liberalization of Mexico in 1990s, Brazil in 2000s and post-soviet Russia in 1990s) the real rally hasn't even started yet. And Mieli ***hasn't*** opened up the Argentina economy yet. The cepo is still in place and Milei said he will not lift it until after midterm elections in October 2025. No institutionals are gonna commit investing in Argentina if the cepo prevents them from getting their money out. This means most of the stock market rally of 100% 2024 has been speculative and local. Just look at the low volume and high spreads of Argentinian ADRs traded at the NYSE (event the large Argentinian companies, like YPF and GGAL). If you look at the historical examples stated above, those countries stock markets rallied 300% to 1000% in the span of 3 to 8 years. And when Macri lifted currency controls in his first week in office, Argie stocks rallied 300% during 3 years. Much like Yelzins Russian rally in the 90s, Macris rally was funded by short-term debt which exploded in their faces and the stock market tanked once the music stopped playing. Both of them didn't cut the state deficit and instead banked on investors buying bonds financing the deficit. This is the key difference between Mileis administration that I see, they (successfully) tackled the deficit first and focused on slashing inflation and stabilizing macroeconomic conditions. and only **AFTER** that is done, they will remove the capital controls and open the Argentina economy to the world, and (hopefully) attract long term direct investments. If my bull thesis will play out, the Argentine rocket ship hasn't even left orbit yet. Short of a few of articles of a couple venture capitals who successfully bet on Argentina in 2024 everybody seems to be sleeping on this, especially retail investors. Institutions are on the sidelines, but their conservative risk profile prevents them from getting in too early. And that fact makes me even more bullish. When the cepo is removed, the merval could go straight to the moon, and the argentine economy could be on the path of a multi-decade growth phase, similar to Poland post eastern block.
You are young, take some so called risks. Many stocks out perform the SP500 most years. Also look at what's coming on strong, especially with a new President. Might I recommend Argentina stocks SUPV, EDN, BBAR, GGAL, YPF, and more. President Milei has three more years. You said you want to make money. Do it.
Tkr GGAL. Also YPF been printing
Keep in mind that ARGT is 20% MELI, which while operating in Argentina, is not based there and more of an all LATAM company. You can simply look at the ADRs in NYSE or equivalent and buy most of them yourself probably, assuming Europe doesn't also give you shit about that. As for the investment itself, I feel like you're a bit late, things like YPF already went from $3 to $44, but best of luck.
If you want to bet in Argentina, GGAL and YPF are the plays
Best country to invest in for the next three, plus years is Argentina! I'm long SUPV, BBAR, EDN, YPF, TGS since Milei was elected last year.
My opinion? Argentina by a mile over any other country. My Argentina group of stocks are BBAR SUPV TGS YPF and EDN Ever since the new president was elected a year ago, they have been killing it. He has three more years and him and Trump have a serious Bromance going on.
YPF earnings soon, invest now and thank me later
YPF posting earnings today and its future plans will make it go up up up

All of Argentina. Still. Especially if Milei keeps it rolling past 25’. GGAL, BMA, YPF, PAM, etc
You can buy $YPF lol, I see all haters downvoting one of the best market long term investment options. Argentina is 20years behind real price and government is liberating companies from regulations.
Its a squeeze play, if you want to invest buy $YPF, $MSTR $PAM. Also you could cover before margin calls catch you 🙈
The only ADR I would buy before 2025 senator camera elections in Argentina is $YPF. I have lost too much with fucking ADRs in the past. I give my risk warning.
YPF - Getting made efficient, will soon start exporting some of the greatest known reserves of shale and natural gas in the world
YPF GGAL thank me later
keep loading up and up on GGAL and YPF.
YPF GGAL thank me later!
YPF GGAL thank me later
I held YPF since around 2017 until earlier this year. Bought for $12 back when Argentina voted out the Kirchners. It went down and even bottomed at $2 for some time but I saw no point in selling at that price. I sold for $23 a few months ago after Milei took office. So I doubled my money in 6-ish years but took some serious commitment. I'd even describe my experience as "apathy"... When I was down 600%, I just felt like "fuck it, don't touch it, Argentina needs fuels, so it should go up one day". Please don't ask me why I didn't double down when it was $2. I ask myself this very same thing quite often while fantasizing about pouring $50k on it.
YPF is still nationalized. Congress would not let Milei sell off the company. However a ton of subsidies are gone. Progress is slowly being made.
You have ADRs on nasdaq, GGAL BMA PAM YPF SUPV
Biggest, SWLD - MSCI World. Why? Because the index always wins in the end. Biggest active, BUR - Burford Capital. Why? https://investors.burfordcapital.com/news/news-details/2023/BURFORD-CAPITAL-STATEMENT-ON-YPF-DAMAGES-RULING/default.aspx
These are individual stocks. But yes, the market apparently re-evaluated the geopolitical risks in some of these stocks since Milei took presidency. In the case of YPF much of the price appreciation is a direct effect of the announcement that Milei wants to sell the governments position in the company, as well as a slight appreciation in oil price. Both stocks and commodities are up alot globally since last year. Now look at Mercadolibre, arguably a much larger company with HQ in Argentina. It is not up more than the S&P 500 in the same time period. I don’t understand what you find wrong with my original post? Everything I stated there is still true. And as for the 883 peso per dollar. This is the official rate. I am aware you don’t get these prices when actually exchanging the currency.
https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1787654457339342932?s=46&t=EVBAZwlIel3qTYH0Waz-6Q COME ON BOYSSSSS ROLL INTO GGAL YPF AND PAM
Argentinian Stocks and Bonds $YPF $GGAL $VIST
They've been releasing some nice return bonds if you trust our government to pay back in time, other than that YPF and MELI are the only safe bets (banks are doing well too). Last year most of our stocks grew a lot but there's a shitload of instability right now so I'd be careful here
YPF It's already seen huge gains since Milie won, but he's going to push massive deregulation packages, and once this is privatized it's really going to take off.
And none of you have checked a $YPF chart?
My port jumps up 3k then dumps 6 k then gets close to even. All the time. I feel immune to the volatility of shitcos. I mean I get a little bummed about it, but there’s no point as it tends to rebound and I am long the worst shit. I was looking at trying for some decent stable stuff when I throw the max into my tax free in January. Roche is looking good to me. I have enough in the Shitco scene right now. 😅😂 Elsewhere, Madame LaGarde seems to think she has it under control. I didn’t expect that a year ago. Decent upside if you can pick a few tickers. I think China is such a house of cards, but I also think that they conveniently pretend that Hong Kong is different and that they will let that run. Some of my SEA stuff is domiciled in HK. I’m bullish and I’m thinking it is a strange IPO and surrogate offshore loophole that will perform differently. Singapore has total tailwinds. Deservedly. That one dude had that great LATAM play. YPF was ballsy, but smart. Interesting. I’m going to switch up some of my strategies. Thinking. Listened to a Podcast on AI from the summer. It was super interesting and got into the nitty gritty of GOOG AI strategy at 30:30. I also read the transcript and think it is a good way to stay grounded and see the true financial side of AI and the utility, as OpenAI drama sorta cheapens it. This one was rigorous. Informative and accessible. Also folks might be underestimating the UK in the deep research mix. $YPF - thank me later
COMMUNICATION OF THE PRESS Buenos Aires City, November 24, 2023 - The Office of the President-Elect of the Argentine Republic announces that the only official information about the future government, led by Javier Milei, is the one published through this medium. In this regard, the economist Osvaldo Giordano will be the head of ANSES and the engineer Horacio Marín will be at the forefront of YPF starting December 10. Regarding the agenda of the President-elect, this afternoon he will maintain a telephone conversation with the President of South Korea, Yoon Suk-yeol. On the other hand, facing the false rumors that have been spread, we wish to clarify that the closure of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) is not a negotiable issue.
Big week ahead for data releases. I don’t think it will be obvious and easy to trade. I think folks like prismabody who don’t hold overnight and are nimbly jumping in and out have the advantage this week with a morass of data releases. It’s a good time to remember to preserve capital. Take profits. Very cool YPF position from our colleague, and it’s interesting plays like that in sectors with which I am less familiar that make me grateful for the sub. Cool beans. GLTA.

Added YPF in the port last week (PBR and EC I have been holding for ~a year). This is the riskiest politically, and that’s saying something..
completely forgot market was open today. My YPF and ARGT flyin'
Get YPF....Easy money BBAR too. You're welcome.
can't believe I missed out on YPF. oil stock trading at 50% discount to XOM, CVX etc. just because it's from latinamerica. the train is gone I'll be poor forever.
40% in dollars. YPF rose about 450% in dollars in about 480 days. And this is not a stock meme.
Considering moving ARGT completely to YPF
YPF is going to perform very well 👍
Long ARGT and YPF still
I put in $50k across YPF and ARGT
Amd and argentinian YPF bonds
Thank you, I mean to say that Argentina was experiencing inflation with the government on the left, the company YPF was in free fall now with the new government on the American stock exchange YPF and its value is skyrocketing
Well he said he will sell Argentinas stake on YPF so... What did you think would happen?
YPF up 40% or $4b market cap in one day 🫡🫡
look at YPF today!! Great call. Man there are stupid people on here criticizing the OP for basically giving people a heads up to free money.
YPF had a decent day. Adding this to my watch list.
so just to keep it simple. I'm not moving goalposts; after your comment about government owning companies makes them socialist all I have said is : no, simply being owned by a government does not make companies socialist. I provided a bunch of other factors that make a company socialist. I didnt even arrogantly suggest u read a book, I said I hate being told to read a book too. you're getting caught up on semantics. All I have been trying to say is that even being government owned does not make you socialist, because when referring to government ownership of a company you directly said "thats socialism, genius". If YPF is socialist why did I buy calls on it this morning? Shouldnt the value of the stock be with the workers, not on public markets? I didnt mean to arrogantly suggest you read a book, I even said I hate it when people tell me to read a book. because you thought that "government owning company makes it socialist" I don't think you know what socialism is, and fine you dont want to get into a broader discussion of what socialism is. Just know that socialism is not what you think it is.
LMAO, investing in a country that has defaulted 9 times, is going through 140% inflation, has defaulted its last loan to the IMF, and that has seized private foreign companies Repsol YPF. And now it is ruled by an actual madman that talks with his dead dog through a medium for counselling. LMAO, c'mon, lets bet and lose even your underwear.
Milei effect: YPF +40% should've seen it coming on Friday, phuck
I'm from Argentina I did. It was luck I guess. Buy YPF in the NYSE.
