For users: OEC is a high performance Chain, gas fee is very low and transaction is very fast. Only takes 3.78 seconds and 0.000088 OKT( 1 OKT = 36.29 USD) to complete a transaction. For developers: OEC is 100% EVM compatible and its ecosystem is growing very fast. So far over 150 projects, almost 1/3 of them are Metaverse related like GameFi.
The OEC blockchain uses Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) mechanism. The weight of each validator is determined by the amount of tokens staked (OKT) and bonded as collateral. These OKTs can be self-delegated directly by the validator or delegated to them by other OKT holders. Any user in the system can declare their intention to become a validator by sending a create-validator transaction. From there, they can become validator candidates. The weight (i.e. voting power) of a validator determines whether or not they are active validators. Initially, only the top 21 validators with the largest voting power will be active validators.
