I often forget Cronos exists, but I remember their AMA back in the day and management basically carpooling to work together. I'm not sure how much they've fundamentally changed, but the way I imagine them in my head is they're still on a pile of cigarette investment dollars from a big player and basically make more revenue on that interest alone compared to actual MJ companies who sell product and are hemorrhaging money. Basically they don't do much, but are well capitalized and are just sitting and waiting. How accurate is that? Honest question.

I am long RZLV. AMA. Bottom line: The company is in the right place (agentic ecommerce) at the right time with the right technology. And yet… That still doesn’t mean it’s a winner. I’m long so I’m bullish but allow me to share with you that the short vultures are all over this. The management team is so bullish, possibly for good reason, that they speak in hyperbole and fail to embrace transparency. Muse from Meta should be a boost but could be a threat. The company has assembled an array of AI M&A acquisitions and their most likely outcome is that they too get acquired. I won’t make this a major bet and I’m down to date but it was worth a risk for me because agentic ecommerce appears to be a rising wave for AI.

Don’t mention it! Yeah, I get what you’re coming from and you’re exactly right in saying that it’s being used more as a marketing tactic than to inform investors. And it sucks because the informed investor usually picks up on this nonsense like you said anyway. So it’s usually targeted at the common folk who just see a company make a lot of good sounding noise through “official” channels and equate it to a sign of their overall success. Anyway, my comment wasn’t meant to sway anyone one way or another. Just another red flag that I had picked up from my own experiences. For what it’s worth, I’m still holding my TLRY bags since Hexo and would love nothing more than seeing them succeed. It just makes for a tough argument to average down or to even take them seriously when you add up all these little signs along the way and wonder if you’re being gaslit by the company. But yeah you’re right, the illusion of Tilray’s shareholder advocacy really went out the door with the Merton AMA.

Appreciate the kind words. I agree the financing is more material for investors. Half of the beverage business is just advertising though, so the PR releases are more about marketing brands than informing investors, imo. An investor who actually makes decisions based on debt-to-equity transactions is already so much more deeply involved than 99% of retail investors. I mean yea I could be totally wrong. Maybe some companies would PR every single transaction. I just think if we expect companies to actually PR everything including "bad" things, then we are setting unrealistic expectations. Would be nice of course. Totally valid criticisms of how much all of this has added up for shareholders. I definitely think that Irwin Simon does not care about retail shareholders at all. I do care about having an accurate discussion about companies though, so I do often try to get people to correct/clarify Tilray information, because its the company with by far the most inaccurate discussions happening. But yea, absolutely get the complaints about the recent deals. Carl Merton is not coming back for an AMA anytime soon lol
