Selling at the toppish (the actual top is too difficult to ascertain) is the hardest part of investing in stocks. I feel your pain and have been trying to adjust my thinking, lens, filter so as not to be depressed about losses. I appreciate you sharing this and hope you reach some of us out here. My problem is that I refuse to sell at a loss and am holding a few bags, waiting for them to come back. CBRL and MNTN in particular are pissing me off rn. This investing environment could be well characterized by the statement: too much money chasing too few good deals. I say fundamentals have little to do with the pricing of most stocks these days I like a stock that has been beaten down and is red in the 5 year chart. At that point you can start to believe that optimism isn’t driving the price and that, maybe, there is an overly pessimistic view of the future driving the price. For me, companies like CMG and CBRL are attractive (with cautious position sizing of course)

IDK, I was right about LULU and CBRL. Been on a bit of a streak.
The idea that you buy a stock when people are pessimistic about it (and more likely to undervalue it) seems like a good starting point to me. I like a stock that is red on the 5 year chart. CE, CBRL, LULU, and ENPH are ones that I have high hopes for. You always need to be cautious though since there is no guarantee a company will not drop further (or even be around long term)

**TODAY:** Closed CBRL puts for small profit too soon... it was going over VWAP... oh well, should have stuck to the "pre--market knows all" and held or something. Closed BLSH calls for a nice profit this morning, near high of day. Opened SCHL calls, but then just closed them for a profit today, instead of waiting for tomorrow. Opened OTM calls on FDX and LEN. For FDX, it's at demand zone, so downside is mostly priced in—any upside surprise should be a nice pop. Similar for LEN. Or they stay near zone and IV crushes and they expire worthless LOL. Surprises help reduce IV crush. And surprises are fun *Gambol*!
