Of course $SBS/$CIG bounced after I sold them 🤣 I just made a fundamental switch in my portfolio where I only want income-generating/low-volatility/tax-efficient holdings, for whatever market volatility comes our way. Call me Michael Burry, but I don't think we're in the clear here & I'm \~33% cash for now.
Now in penny stock territory, [$SBS shares available to short just increased by 50K](https://fintel.io/ss/us/sbs); I understand that's nothing compared to the billions that're OS, but **it also can't just drop forever**. The chart looks nasty\* but zooming out I think it's an incredible buying opportunity; I'm buying it all the way down. [This news](https://finance.yahoo.com/technology/articles/sabesp-partners-vivo-idemia-secure-132900898.html) is being slept on, I swear; even if it takes some time to materialize, I believe loading over time could far incredibly well. **"The World's Largest IoT Initiative for...Secure and More Sustainable Water Management"** is no laughing matter. After a certain holding period, dividends are qualified as well, something incredibly valuable for international/emerging market stocks. Combining $SBS/$CIG is, IMO, a solid dividend-growth, Brazilian/infrastructure bet. Call me crazy if you want*;* it won't change a thing... 🤙 \*It's worth noting also that $SBS recently underwent a 5 for 1 split so shares are likely getting shaken out.
Not a peny stock, but keeping with my bet on Brazil with **$SBS** & **$CIG** (that apparently billionaire Stanley Drukenmiller is also betting on), look at how [the cost to borrow for VALE jumped from .35% to over 20%, settling at 11.78%](https://fintel.io/ss/us/vale)... I'm going to start a DCA on that one tomorrow.
Looks like both of my Brazilian stocks, **$SBS** & **$CIG** experienced higher revenue & lower net income. I think these are solid buying zones as they invest in their businesses & will keep building my positions out over time 🤙

Meanwhile those yellow lines were showing you what's been on its mind the entire time.
It's wild how much you can start to ascertain just by looking at historical movements. I need to start looking farther back. It bounced hard off of the $5.01 right when my order was filled, but like you said, it's approaching it again. Zooming out, I think $2 is pretty solid support for $CIG too so I'm loading the boat with that one today too. That's why no one wants to touch $CAPS, even though they recently pivoted the business in March 2025 so everything before that is relatively irrelevant. Thanks for being here to bounce ideas off of, even if you're not invested in the stock!
Thanks for the shoutout! It's definitely looking locked up but I'll be watching if someone slaps it down, have more cash on the sidelines foe this one... I had to separate the 2 comments so that the $SBS/$CIG one didn't get downvoted into oblivion 🤣 I probably could've trimmed a bit more of $CAPs above $.30 but I'm just chilling for now. (Full disclosure I fully expect them to sell shares on the ER pop as there're filings for it but it's clear that the shares get locked up quickly because then the stock becomes volatile to the downside after ERs. The ER volume has been WAY above average if you look back, so the dilution, likely to fund acquisitions, as they're not at risk of bankruptcy, is really insignificant, IMO. At some point the thesis should/could stick & this stock will re-rate higher IMO; there're a lot shittier stocks trading a lot higher, cough cough $CTM)

Seriously thanks so much for following up! I love to get your perspective on things. I thought I might spiral this weekend being so exposed to both $SBS & $CIG right before earnings but right now I actually feel pretty good, thinking of the combo as a Brazilian/emerging market clean energy/infrastructure dividend growth play. I see people who were early investors in this or that & want to get one of those for my portfolio, something (or 2 somethings) that I just nurse for a while, while collecting solid dividends. It's like a $SCHD/$SCHY holding, but the individual stock. My only other 2 satellites in this portfolio right now are $KEP (stupid low valuation IMO) & $OMAB (another one that's gone straight up for a long time). What was the really, really bad trade?
There’re so many other energy stocks that pay a dividend & are way less inflated. Check out $KEP for severely undervalued & $CIG for solid yield.
**$CIG** is a Brazilian electric utility/infrastructure-style income play yielding \~11%, with a healthy options chain, pretty tight trading range, solid valuation, etc. It's quickly becoming one of my favorites, & for now at least, I'm having trouble catching dips. Knowing my luck it'll dip today when I'm at work 🤣🥲
$CIG is also pretty high yield & sitting pretty, looking pretty locked up. I'm for sure not selling this one anytime soon 🤙
Thanks for following up! I'm glad I'm not alone in not wanting to part with the position I worked hard to build. Who knows where the bottom is, but if retail ends up thinking that something like $WU is undervalued & starts to re-rate it, the deep-value yield can be gone for good. I've yet to get assigned on a CSP & run the full options wheel, but I recently started a position with $CIG (\~11% yield). I then instantly sold CCs on the \[position, & even though they're far-ish OTM, they also won't expire til December. Not wanting to be left without shares, I went ahead & doubled down. If it dips, I'll keep adding to this one; I think selling CCs on 50% of the position is the limit for me, which is also hard/a bit prohibitive since options are contracts for 100 shares. I'll get a strategy that works for me figured out soon enough; thanks for your feedback!
Some other interesting value penny stocks I've found are **$CIG**, **$TKC** & **$SBS** (almost penny stocks, defensive, dividend payers). **$BBAI** gets more interesting the lower it goes. **$BBD** & **$BHC** are 2 other defensive dividend payers. **$GDRX** & **$GRAB**, 2 other household names. **$XRX** seems to hold up strong... **$BMBL** is still the wild card 🤙

No. GDP = C + I + G + (X-IM). With doge in effect and consumers holding back spending, CIG is likely to be lower. With high tariffs, X-IM will be higher if not for the fact that everyone and their grandma imposed retaliatory tariffs. Assume NX is unchanged. GDP will be lower.
CIG's fundamentals are super strong right now. They just posted their highest EBITDA ever at 5 billion BRL and got upgraded to AAA rating. Their [transmission tariff revision brought in 1.5 billion BRL](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/cia-energetica-minas-gerais-cemig-010324167.html) which is huge for their cash flow. The energy demand in their region is up 4.5% too. Only real downside is some issues with energy trading partners not delivering, but they've already worked out deals to minimize the impact. Setting a specific exit price isn't the best move though. This company is executing well and has room to run. Better to watch their execution and market conditions rather than picking an arbitrary number.

I have been a shareholder in VALE, BDORY & CIG in the past. Only VALE was any good. Now I own shares in NU & CBD. Of course I’m hoping for the best with them. CBD is particularly interesting as they are spinning off their Extra chain of stores in Colombia with a 4 for 1 split in the next few months.

Looking at the option, the mid price is currently is below the breakeven of what the stock is trading at. So I’m theory you could purchase the option and immediately exercise and sell the stock for a few dollars profit. The issue I see is in the bid/ask spread. As well as the last purchase price of $.80 which would move your breakeven to $3.30. I don’t know anything about $CIG, but looking at a 1 month chart it appears to have had quite the run-up here recently. The question becomes do you think it will keep going up from here, or look to consolidate a bit before going either up or down. That’s for you to decide.

If you have limited trades don't chase meme stocks. I recommend FUBO + DKNG + PUBM + EXPI + SLQT+ CIG Take a look at FINVIZ.COM . You can see on their homepage all kinds of info. On their screener I use mostly current ratio over 1.5 + quick ratio over 1.2 + low float under 100M for small caps and high M low B for larger. P/FCF gives you an idea how expensive the company is relative to others . I prefer insider ownership over 10%. I look for mostly small or mid-cap. Healthcare stocks are extremely volatile and unpredictable. They fly up but then often crash . I owned HIMX from $11.05 in Feb until a month ago sold at $13.74. Made 24% . The company looks solid if you want to invest . However marketbeat predicts it goes to $12. I recommend you look at CIG + EXPI + IDCC

Three C's Commodity: Steel, every steel company is making money right now especially vertically integrated ones, steel pricing is ridiculous at this point Currency: As of about a month ago the Brazilian Real is one of the most quickly appreciating currencies across the globe due to stabilizing COVID cases and fiscal/monetary policy - they raised rates already this year and are doing it again in June. They dealt with inflation in the 90s so they were quick to jump on this. Also their natural resources: they have a ton of them, China is buying a lot which means tons of foreign investment. As the summer goes on and the US Dollar tanks due to inflation the Brazilian Real will only get stronger Company: My pick is Siderurgica Companhia Nacional, they are the largest vertically integrated steel company in Brazil. They mine their own iron ore which means they aren't exposed to skyrocketing prices of scrap metal. They made a billion dollars in net income last quarter, not bad for a company with a market cap of only $14 billion - Stock is up 30% on the month Other Brazilian cyclicals I like are $CBD $VALE $GGB $BAK $CIG $GGB $JBSAY $SUZ $LND
I’d also recommend you check out CIG or ABEV - these Brazilian companies have great leadership and fundamentals and are EXTREMELY undervalued at their price. Also great because their industries should grow exponentially in the coming years as brazil’s population booms and water becomes more scarce

Long calls on CIG managed to play well. Tyty
If thats how you sleep better at night you can keep telling yourself that. On April 5th they bought 454,000 shares of PLUG the scam company. Meanwhile they decreased their positions in CIG and NOVA two of the few profitable clean energy companies they hold in the ETF. This ETF is a complete scam.
Wow they really increased their position in PLUG lol. I company that has no major products, horrible financials, is dealing with lawsuits from different firms, and messed up their balance sheets. Literally that company is no different from NKLA. Also they decreased CIG and NOVA. If anything screams don’t buy this ETF its this.
someone posted a full list of that ETF's holdings here: https://old.reddit.com/r/stocks/comments/mmqn1m/changes_to_icln_holdings_as_of_april_5th/ the top holding is PLUG, a company which hasn't earned a profit in 23 years, is overvalued, and had to re-state 2 years of earnings they sold 55 million shares of CIG: an undervalued, profitable company (118% return on capital!) that pays a 9% dividend yield I'm confused why anyone would invest with ICLN based on those strategies, but that's just me...
Most of the companies in the FT article are OTC. CIG has options with zero volume/OI. I'll probably add NEE shares anyway they've been my watchlist for awhile. Nothing pops out right away other than PLUG puts until we figure out what midcap with decent option spreads and a couple whale calls are out there.
I believe it is $CIG not $CEG based on their holdings on Ishares site for ICLN.
