If you think crude oil prices will go higher for longer, I would be buying $DBA, $WEAT, or $CORN, not $USO. The higher for longer crude oil prices will be passed onto our food prices since diesel is such a huge input cost for agriculture grains and wheat & corn have not fully priced in $90-$100 crude oil yet. If you don't like commodities, then just buy $DE.

You are right, CORN can have long-term growth potential. However, if you invest in commodities, you speculate, it's called CFD. You don't own the good, you speculate on its price. And it costs you daily to hold your position. CFDs are made for day trading, otherwise the potential growth is eaten by fees. Do you believe the corn is going to grow tomorrow or in two days?

Alright so here’s the plan guys, I’ve been saying it for about a month now: We buy Physical Corn (Corn, the crop), dehydrate it, and store it. Buying paper corn, like CORN, is bullshit.We accumulate a vast quantity of dehydrated Physical Corn, let’s say $3m worth. We then create an ETF backed 1:1 by the value of our physical corn holdings. Let some other asshole buy *our* paper corn, which we printed out of our **Physical Corn**. We continue to buy, dehydrate, and store, Physical Corn. In the short term, Physical Corn prices are likely to spike by the mid-summer as harvest numbers can be extrapolated more accurately. With the massive increase in fertilizer costs prior to the spring planting season, crops this year will have higher costs baked in. If the Iran crisis persists, this issue will only worsen. If you’re interested in the long term thesis, let me know, and I’ll address it in a comment below. Or if you just wanna throw down on starting up my Physical Corn backed ETF
