That and there isn't enough liquidity to handle that big an order all at once without crashing the price, they're doing the equivalent of using a dark pool in the stock market, passing a major order outside of regular exchanges so the price doesn't fluctuate too much and the parties involved don't have to deal with the volatility. Is it OK to do it this way? Some will say yes in order to prevent a crash, some will say no because that's part of the risk of investing in an unregulated and decentralised financial system... All I know is some people who don't watch crypto news would have bough some $ROPE if they had seen the price go to zero all of the sudden.

APY is theoretically how much you'd make if you staked for a year and the price stayed the same for a year. The price doesn't stay the same for a year. Neither the thing you're staking, nor the thing you're getting. So that's the risk that comes with the high APY. I can't find ROPE20-ETH on Harvest Finance so I'm not sure what that is. /u/brocko33 says it's a liquidity pool. If it's a liquidity pool then you have extra risk because the pool has two kinds of tokens in it - ROPE20 and ETH - and the percentage of each token changes when people use the pool to make trades. So if someone wants to buy some ROPE20, they put some ETH in the pool and take some ROPE20 out. Now the pool has a higher percentage of ETH and a lower percentage of ROPE20. In the worst case if people decide ROPE20 is totally worthless, they may use the pool to swap all of their ROPE20 back to ETH, and leave the pool with a very low percentage of ETH and a very high percentage of worthless ROPE20. When you took your money back out you would be getting mostly worthless ROPE20.
