My mom's killing it off FMCC. One of her friends are convinced her that since Ackerman has Trump's ear, and he's heavily invested in FMCC, Trump's gonna make them public and it's gonna go to the moon. I told her it seems like's more a random gamble than an investment, and its not like she's trading off some inside knowledge that isn't already priced into the market. But hey it's gone up 40% since, and it makes her happy, all without risking too much money she can't afford to lose. So I guess it's all good.

its weird because everyone told me it was going to be earnings that was the doom of the market and earnings season just ended and all the major companies crushed it. so what's the next doom? wait for Q2 earnings? the 90-day pause to end? its so funny because I swear reddit told me (back in April) there was a chance the market could do to $0. we were in a recession and it would take years to recover. some even said 20 years lol. the main thing I read was how: tHiS tImE iS dIfFeReNt lmao. im sure you guys all seen and probably some of you were the one's doing the fear mongering. Last week I topped my ATHs thanks to $FNMA & $FMCC and YTD is 6% without the twins. SP500 is 1% green YTD all while we had generational buying opportunities NVDA $85, META $500, COIN $150, TSLA $220, freaking AMZ $160!! so on and so forth. I use Charles Swab to buy FNMA and FMCC. My bet was that ultimately, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac would be released from conservatorship and Trump definitely supports that.
I’m in it for the long haul. We’ll see what Trump does, hopefully he doesn’t fk this up. I plan to sell a few thousand shares at $50 and keep the rest for the dividends. I didn’t get my FMCC position in the screenshot but it’s not nearly as good as FNMA but still in the +green$

absolutely beating the market. its been great. buying that 20% correction last month was absolute gold and I know many on this sub is right there with me. I had a chunk of cash I didn't know what to do with since we were at ATHs in February but that dip was perfect for me to dive in on NVDA @ $85, META @ $500, COIN at $150. But my big winner this year is easily FNMA and FMCC. Those shares are absolutely crushing it. But if you take out the twins, my best stock this year is easily FUBO. Excited to see how the rest of 2025 plays out.
In simple terms, it’s a public (as in government not stock) company that used to be privatized (as in non governmental), and it was seized in 2008 by an act of Congress under conservatorship. There’s two major stock companies that have been on watch ever since, FMCC (Freddie Mac) and FNMA (Fannie Mae). They buy loans from banks and operate in the secondary mortgage market, but the catch with them is conservatives have wanted to release them from public hold. Basically the function of these companies are to purchase mortgage loans from lenders to increase available credit, which then they put these loans into into mortgage securities for investors, where they earn principal and interest. The fear of privatizing them is it could destroy the market with really high mortgage rates, making investors scared to touch the market, however, the benefit lies in the stock, where they will then move towards making profits instead of benefiting the market, potentially making them billions.

Because of the 2008 housing crisis, the government put Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae on a conservatorship. Just like Britney Spears dad. He may or may not directly benefit. What will more likely happen is, big money whales will be able to sell off FNMA/FMCC for inflated prices once it hits the market. Those guys are promoting this now to get the ball rolling, and are probably already making a deposit via trumpcoin, then afterwards they will probably share a percentage of windfall by purchasing more coin which directly benefits the trump family.

Little over $6500 invested in two stocks back in Oct 2023. The were trading at 49 and 69 cents. Slowly day traded and added to my position did this for about 6 to.7 months The day before election it was up to $32,000 2 days Day after election. I'm sitting on $60,000. Jan 3rd I'm sitting on over $80,000.. As of today day $190,200.41. . I have only $28,000 invested.. I'm sitting on +34000 shares split between FNMA and FMCC... Monday when Tressury Sec Bessant give his plan on the Sovereign wealth fund.. consensus is that the Gov will use ther sare of Fannie and Freddie to seed the SWF.. and the stock should be $30+ dollars a share.. They currently are $5.20 and $6.30 . FNMA and FMCC are going to.moon.

To add to u/SomewhereHot4527's comment, there is precidence of this happening in 2008/2009 with FannyMae (FNMA) and FreddyMac (FMCC). Both were GSE's (Government sponsored entities ... essentially publicly traded government owned entities) that hit the wall in 2008/2009. They were both bailed out, restructured and have returned something like 2.5x to the Fed. I'm not a big fan of bailouts, but all things considered this is once example of where the results have been very positive.

While you all are here, do some DD on FNMA and FMCC. All signs point to them being re-listed on the NYSE and released from conservatorship soon, at which point they have the potential for asymmetric upside.

FMCC and FNMA were my biggest pennygambles until they graduated from pennystock status. I estimate the shares at around $6-7 right now becomes $35 a share if the conservatorship gets released. My current biggest long term penny stock gamble is ELTP. Its got more revenue on the way, a very promising portfolio of drugs, and it's stock price is stable enough that I don't have to worry about large sudden drops. Hoping it hits at least $3 a share before years end either through a buyout or through increased sales.

Fannie Mae (FNMA) and Freddie Mac (FMCC) are sorta mortgage insurers for mortgage backed securities. They are sorta the reason America has the 30 year mortgage Boring time background: prior to the Great Depression, home ownership was rare and when it did it required 40-50% downpayment and mortgages worked like commercial mortgages being 5 years in term with a balloon payment (big lump sum due at the end that could be deferred by taking another balloon mortgage). This tied up a large amount of the banks free cash so when the Great Depression hit, banks denied extending the balloon payments and asking for the remaining balance, which the homeowners did not have. Many many delinquencies caused banks to have land but no cash. The Roosevelt admin also noticed that one of the hardest hit industries in terms of employment was construction. So the admin decided to tackle both these issues at once by making home ownership more feasible to encourage builders to build more homes and thus hire more people. Fannie Mae was born as a government sponsored enterprise that would buy mortgages from banks (which from here on out I will refer to as ‘servicers’). Fannie Mae will let servicers collect a small percentage of mortgage payments as sorta a collection fee. This frees up capital for the servicers to issue new mortgages to new customers. Fannie Mae then bundles these mortgages into lots of minimally 100 but often in the thousands of similar levels of credit worthiness to then sell as a mortgage backed security on the seconds mortgage market (roughly 3rd in size by market cap only beaten by US debt and corporate/municipal debt markets I believe). Fannie Mae and other similar organizations like Ginnie Mae and Freddie Mac usually collect 10-15% of mortgage payments. What they offer to those who buy these mortgage backed securities is guaranteed payment in case of any delinquencies of any of the included mortgages. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac mortgage back securities often sold at a premium pre-08 due to implicit guarantees that in case of insolvency, the US government would put them under conservatorship (which did happen). They were made into independent companies in the 70s or something. Because of this setup, servicers offer 30 year mortgages with 20% downpayment in America. There are other types but Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac typically do not insure mortgages with more that 500,000 in outstanding principal, under PMI, or of poor credit worthiness (though in the pre conservatorship days this is debatable if they willingly believed the lies about the credit worthiness)

Maybe you can do a bit of both? You can get 1 or 2 Jan '26 calls slightly OTM and get more FNMA/FMCC shares with whatever's left. FWIW I have 700 NBIS shares, Feb '25 31 Calls and Jan '26 35 Calls. Not sure what the reaction to the Feb earnings will be, but long-term NBIS is an ez 5-10x unless the whole market crashes
