For long term investment I like the gold royalty companies like $FNV, $WPM, $MTA, etc. They give you exposure with upside potential and some income. $GDX for gold miners and $GDXY for income.
Gold exposure. GDX or GDXY
3 months should be fairly good. Long term (years is iffy). But it is up about 280% over the last 5 years. What the next 5 years will hold is never guarateed. But their management is superb in that industry, and they are constantly growing organically, and through acquisition, and increase their dividend every year. An investor friend of mine has owned XOM and reinvesed dividends for 40-50 years and he's afraid to tell me how much he has made :):):):):). (My guess +$10-15M. Personally I don't own the stock itself, but I have Yieldmax Covered Call Options on the Stock (ticker: XOMO) which have done great this year. And the Fund Ticker is up \~14% itself YTD. Those CCO funds are not for eveyone so studying and picking the stablest funds is important, but I've studied and continue to study them closely on an ongoing basis and XOMO has been one of their best ones this year with the rise in oil prices. GDXY (a GDX CCO) ""was"" also great, but got hammered with the fall off in Gold over the last 2 weeks. It's recoved quite a bit today, but I'm not in it for now. If the middle east war finally calms down and Gold reverses up again that one will pay out nice weekly dividends. But having said all this, do your homework. Good luck now.
Added GDXY to my long term holds.
Buy $GDXY and hold it.
Q4 average PM prices are like 4k gold and 50 silver. The forward PE of most miners are in the low teens. Now gold is 4.5-5k range and silver...well, it's more than 50 lol. So if you think PM prices will stay in this range or go higher? They're a buy. Think gold will go less than 4k and silver less than 50? Then you probably lay off. There's also this interesting fund called GDXY which does like a covered call strategy on miners. This is a good option if you think things will just be chaos from here on out lol.
I can get $19 call options for $50 per contract. The value of your contracts are maybe $15 each. Your options won’t have liquidity unless GDXY goes up to $20.50 or higher. I would get out while you still can unless you think that price is possible.
CEF and SGOL are gold. GLD is more paper gold. I like GDXY for gold exposure plus yield. The gold royalty companies are great FNV WPM etc.
Buy GDXY and reinvest dividends
I have bought options on various "gold stocks, EFTs". In 3 months, many were up 300-400%. Sold a few according to my strikes, I believe in taking a profit and moving on. I also do hold a few ETF gold oriented investments. Try HL mining and PAAS, EQX stocks or options. Take a look at GDXY for a different take. There are equity versions of this gold based theme as well. This could be a safer, longer term play. Understand what you are investing in. Don't forget that my and your investment strategies are likely to be different. I love to buy on down days, sell up up swings. Watch the charts. I am not investing for long timeframe type of gains, on these swing ideas, taxes aren't my concern, only big profits. If the wind shifts, be prepared to tack, put up the spinnaker or grab your vest. The trend is likely your friend. Sorry for any poetics written (POET however is another one to watch not in metals). Don't fall asleep at the wheel either. Just saying.
GDXY just paid it's monthly distribution yesterday, but of course it dropped a bit more than that.
SOFI TLRY GLXY GDXY Calls on everything Bers on shambles
Most pundits are saying that gold will probably top out at \~$3300 for the year. I'm doing some risky shit playing GDXY, a high yield ETF with DUST, a miner's short as a hedge, but it's been paying off about a 30% net dividend yield.
Check out GDXY...new ETF that follows the miners and generates income.
Look at GDXY...its a covered call ETF on the GDX. It is a good income play if you like the gold miners.
Once in a lifetime play tbh - double leverage ETF shares (NVDL) during NVDA's meteoric rise. Dipped in and out a few times for maximum overlap, too. Leveraged shares don't expire so if you've got conviction over the overall trend in an industry, that's the play. Being early doesn't theta-fuck you. NVDY will pay out the nose for the next few years (covered call ETF), I'm also playing GDXY and YBIT as I think crypto and gold will fare well in a rate cut environment.
