There is very strong evidence suggesting they are a government plant/use insider links to abuse current laws and gain a monopoly & deceptively make legitimate crypto firms into scapegoats "breaking the law"

Yeah, the volume was really low at first but as soon as it picked up we got confirmation that the overall landscape is bullish. They could or couldn't charge the same royalties that is up to them. If the asset is tied to a public blockchain it allows you to transfer the asset without them taking royalties. You actually own the asset, whether or not companies will be open to this is a different question. When you want to sell your Ford Pickup do you have to go to a dealership? This is what ownership means, Steam Marketplace doesn't offer that. Opensea offers royalties to collections, but nothing is stopping you and me from bartering on the side and trading an asset. Steam marketplace sells games of different publishers, if Steam goes away then the games they maintain would no longer be playable. >You don’t actually own the legal rights to the copyright of something you have the NFT of. Maybe, maybe not but why do I care if I can openly sell it on any platform I want? Some games may release content with a CCO license, we don't know for certain what the future holds. I don't own the patent of the Ecoboost engine in my Ford Maverick, but I can sure as shit sell it to someone that wants a truck.

I don't think getting kids to beg their parents for the CC to buy some booties in Fortnite is the right direction for Crypto. Some people are quite ruthlessly greedy though. To break it down in one study roughly 28% of the US population had purchased DLC or Micro-transactions. Micro-transactions representing about 12% and DLC 16%. Another survey stated 8% of adults had claimed they bought micro-transactions for their kids. Meaning out of that 12% only 4% were adults. And even then that might not be accurate as kids generally use their parents cards for these transactions. The UK statistics were worse with roughly 96% of micro-transactions going to kids between the ages of 12-16. The UK is a bit stricter about collecting this type of data so their statistics are likely more accurate. Child psychology associations have also become quite outspoken about micro-transactions and the research is quite clear. It is a predatory business practice directed at children. The response from these game companies was that harvesting this data on their revenue is "unethical", ironic right? Now personally I'm not big on exploiting children but for people with dollar signs in their eyes they don't give a fuck.
