these are all kind of pennystock adjacent, but in addition to MX, maybe check out companies like UMC, HIMX, and ASX... smallish Taiwanese fabs with existing earnings, and paying a dividend. MX could rocket though... MX does have some cash, and almost no debt, but their cash flow is bad. they do have almost $9 of book value...

Looking into $GEO (GEO Group) & $HIMX (Himax Technologies). Both have caught my attention for different reasons.

Technically any stock under 5 bucks is a penny stock.... on HIMX. I made $11,250 When it was $2.5 1000 shares and pick up 10 x $10 call @ .25 cent Out of pocket $2750 Himax made a run to 13 dollars. Started selling The calls once it got above 10 made $5650 in profits on the calls... sold the shares @ $11 neting $8500 from the stock.. But I was was a idiot I had 6000 share of Game stop and sold it at 23 dollars before it ran up to 400
Well regarded DD. It's actually spelled HoloLens but who cares, it's dead project. Microsoft laid off the entire team back in January. I've been invested in $EMAN for years and followed the microdisplays for quite some time. Google Glass used HIMX display (LCoS), that whole Glass project is now dead. HIMX had great spike initially and then it faded, it survived by producing driver circuits, though. Apple is going to use Sony displays (uOLED) , Samsung bought out EMAN (uOLED) . Meta and Microsoft dropped VR/AR projects. MVIS used to promote their micro projectors, which is now also dead as I understand. So only LIDAR is there left. And the hope of buyout , just because EMAN was just bought out by Samsung. Good luck.

Dunno if someone mentioned buy #HIMX gives nice dividends, and it recoverred it's value after the december low. It has yyield 15,66%, eps is positive and it had. It was hyped if I remember good sometimes in November '21, you can read articles from that period. Good fundamentials anyway...

I like HIMX for a LTH, earnings play in this geopolitical environment… forget about it, except maybe for their annual divvy announcement but that will be like may/June 23. Exceptional acquisition target IMO by a company like INTC or even TSLA could probably do well with their patents.

I'm looking into BOIL if I was going to be bullish in the short term on anything that would probably be it. Personally I think the environment we find ourselves in requires some restraint. Everyone on here wants to short the shit out of everything because it's finally caught on that you can be a bear or a bull it isn't anything to be ashamed of if you change sentiment. The issue is, in January it was pretty obvious everything was way overvalued and it was time to get out and short but most this sub was still in permabull mode. Fast forward a few months, some assertive rate hikes, supply issues and global conflicts igniting it was a perfect catalyst to start a down trend. Now we are close to fair value of Spy at $350 and WSB is overwhelmingly riding the short bus thinking smart money is concerned with anything more than valuations. To me sentiment and valuations dictate that it would be a good time to start building positions in companies that are way undervalued and have good cash flows and manageable debt. No reason to jump in to much when you could sell spreads to finance calls with plenty of time on them. Stocks I see as attractive in a further time frame would be WBD, HIMX, TSM, ERO, FNF..
Taiwan companies are being crushed. Look at HIMX. The overview page on E-Trade looks odd...Says they have 12.5B shares outstanding (Holy cow if they do) but only a 15B market cap. 7.90 eps with a 5.75 stock price. Something is really wrong there.

HIMX. Their semis for the auto sector have been really doing well. Almost zero debt, great FCF, extremely undervalued, high dividend but changed tact this year and instead of paying out a larger dividend retained cash… but Taiwan. Geopolitics make it a steal and my personal conviction is that China will NEVER invade, I have a strong belief in that. And I did absolutely believe that Russia was going to invade Ukraine, different situations. It’s a good 5-10 year play, I’d like to see it acquired by a fab for a fair price. 2024 leaps are cheap. Or shares.
Reduce your financial or unload all them. When ZIM is paying out next dividend. My time frame to get out is around year end. HIMX is not a bad stock. I am holding on it.

Not a meme stock short play and don't try to conflate it as a short play. HIMX has good financials and even offers a VERY GOOD dividend let the PND apes stay in their soon to be bankrupted businesses.

Rolling over sell puts is when you got no money to take up the assignment upon expiry. Rolling over will collect more premium at a later strike date while waiting for price to recover in future. Good if you dont have enough capital. If you got capital, let the assignment happen upon expiry and next Monday, I will sell covered calls to earn premium. Will happen to me today for INTC, WBA, HIMX, ANF and HOG. But I have the money to take up stocks on these low PE ratio companies

Yes, it's one of my newest holdings and I'm extremely happy with the price and the value. I was deciding between Micron and HIMX, but I just couldn't overlook the China risk. Sleep a bit easier with MU.

stock is trading near the low end of the 52 wk range... company guided a double digit decline in revenue sequentially.... screaming bargain? NOT!! Stock holders have been screaming for a very long time, but the stock kept getting cheaper. The downgrade on MU yesterday should explain why HIMX won't go anywhere any time soon.
