I also bought a ton of 1/16/26 30C. Two potential big hits for NVAX. One is the malaria vaccine mentioned by OP and the other is the combined covid/flu vaccine. That is only in phase 2 so they probably won't make money off of it until fall 2025.
I would laugh on this entire thread if not malaria vaccine, need to read more on that. NVAX on my shortlist since 13 bucks

They aint even in the same ballpark as NVAX. NVAX had a headstart since they had worked with these type of viruses previously, were able to generate a product and got an approved vaccine out the door...like 4 years late. Lol. Their management is a complete dumpster fire. Always has been.

NVAX, IBRX were Covid plays and might be dead for now, but Med/Biotech can explode anytime if they come up with a new product. RYCEY, CELH will be fine I think. Wouldn't sell if you don't need the money.
NVAX, IBRX, RYCEY, and CELH. Two are massively shorted, and two were supposed to be value plays. I tried buying the dip on the CELH downgrade and then it tanked like 20 more points. RYCEY is usually green, but not meaningfully enough at my price to want to sell. It has maxed like +$200 on like $3400 cost basis.
Novavax (NVAX) let me down for a while, but it has been doing very well recently.

Honestly if I gamble on options I ease in. So like I'm looking at NVAX. Stock price is $14. Went from $4-23. Let it settle for awhile. I don't want to deal w daily gyrations. I think it will recover over my $15 strike by 3x by 2026. So I'll buy a couple leaps for like $550 bucks a piece. 99% of your money should be in a real balanced portfolio. Nvax and IonQ are my speculative bets, i want in on Quantum and already own big guys, i want a little guy that can become an SMCI, idgaf if i have to sit 70% down there because i know im 10 years early, but i know nuclear energy and quantum is what comes after AI. The rest Voo and your typical stuff w/ 20% in Tech heavy hitters and Tech ETF's. It's all about ratio's and time.

I bought 531 shares of NVAX for $.73 cents per share on February 28th 2019 after lackluster results on their nanoflu vaccine test. I held it until January 25th, 2021 and sold all 531 shares for $220 per share. Thanks Covid.
I did 700% on NVAX in 2020 after having traded it off and in for nearly 20 years. I knew they were poised perfectly for Covid vaccines. Started buying at the end of January. Had I bought leaps I would've made over $2 million that year on a $40k investment. I sold off all my shares by the end of 22 and have been tracking them closely since. I think they are a steal at their current price given Sanofi's recent cash infusion and I have a strong feeling they will be acquired in the next year or so.
NVAX, made $54k in about a week on that bad buy prior to its vaccine approval.
Basically buying waaaay OTM options that expire far in the future, with the anticipation that the stock will rise to the strike price, or higher, than what you purchased them at. If it works, the returns are sick. I did this with NVAX back in Jan and was up over 1,000% last week. Now I’m only up 500%, but I think NVAX with hit $40 minimum by December ‘24 with the bird flu scare and their recent vax update submission to the FDA. If it gets approved they would own the only protein-based jab available in the USA. Risk: whatever you bet Reward: up to 100X My thoughts: worth it Other thoughts: YOLOOOOO!!!
