I suck at options plays. I started just flipping stocks instead and now I’m up 36% YTD lol. I’m great (so far) at picking a stock and direction but get killed with timing and strike price. It’s also much less work this way. Set it and forget it. I do a 80/20 rule for overall strategy and plays. 80% in SPY/QQQ 20% Risk plays (below) Then if I sell a risk play for a profit, 80/20 the proceeds into the next play. Sometimes I’ll sit on cash waiting for a downward day for a week or 2. $MU $MFST $GME $NVDA $SPCE $RVI Currently all risk play is in $GME, bought in at \~$18.50 about a month or so ago. Sitting pretty about now.
You can get in via RVI. But at this valuation I’m skeptical
I would be cautious about piling into private funds, although RVI is actually not an interval fund which is a plus. If there's another 2022 or anything of that nature, these funds are getting obliterated. I don't think these are long-term holdings, they are good times only holdings and if you think that things are starting to get late innings you start to reduce. Just IMHO. Scottish Mortgage - despite the name - is an aggressive growth fund in the UK that invests in a mix of public and private equity (think something inbetween ARKK and ARVKX.) That was down 60% post 2021 high and only recently got back to that 2021 peak. For most of 2020/21 that fund traded at a premium to NAV, but in 2022, that premium vanished and it traded at a discount - which actually continued into 2023 until the fund started doing buybacks.
RVI is in 11% open ai
What I said has no bearing on any of your positions. RVI and RVII value is tied to the pre-IPO companies in their holdings. As long as people have a desire to invest in pre-IPO, then RH makes money on the expense ratios. RobinHood is here to stay. They’ve got a good thing going on with this cycle of, giving you a 3% bonus match on incoming transfers, locking you in for 2 years, making bank by reinvesting your money, and then using some of that to pay for the next guy’s 3% bonus match, so they can use that dudes money for the next guy, and bag any and all differences as profit.
Shit I'm even deep with RVI AND RVII venture funds and HOOD. Lol
Got slightly concerned when my order of 600 shares filled 100%, instant drop on the IPO day because of the shorts just like RVI but looking at this product being the only way to get exposure to private equities from YC (& other) it has a USP. There's 80 companies in there so far with the fund expanding into more the coming months. I expect them to go in aggressively since that's how the PE market moves currently. With the high % fees I'd expect them to actively seek new portcos to justify this and create hype/performance around RVII. RVI performed rather well and provided a 3x exit 2-3 months in and considering the higher risk nature of this fund there's a lot of possibilities. That said, high risk high reward can go very wrong as well, so tread carefully. My prediction would be a similar cause to RVI where it "pumps" (probably more than RVI) then retraces to close to its original IPO value.
Yeah lots of solid companies in RVI cant understand the price movement if you want me to be honest.
RVI witch I hold has been very frustrating, good companies seems to move like a scam stock.
Got a trade I wanna put on yall radars. RVI (Robinhood ipo etf) cost 25$ on open fell to 22$ and then had a rally to 75$ over 2-3 months. RVII (2nd version of this) just released and also fell to 22$ now. I opened a few thousand dollar position and plan to flip it for a gain. Given RVII is filled with a lot of crap compared to RVI.
Same thing happend when Robinhood launched RVI. They filled 100% of allocations at $25 a share. And then when it launched it dropped to $20 a share. Before going up after that.
Pretty good everything’s green in my port except that ipo and so can’t complain about being up 2% for the day since it’s mostly in S&P and Nasdaq to a degree. I only have a small position in any of those ipos and especially this one since it’s so broad. Less than I gamble on short term options. RVI tripling was an anomaly and I sold it buying back in with profits when it hit \~$25. I generally just sell when it opens and for like 10-40% profit if orders even fill.
FWIW I bought 250 shares of RVI and sold it like a few days later when it was up almost 300%. Afaik both RVI and RVI II fill 100% of the order.
Who's going in on RVI 2?
Don’t think I’ll be too interested in RVII, also, why TF is RVI invested in whatnot lmao
Why RVI 1 has been a shit show!
I have been thinking about getting a 100 in my Roth ira. I bought about 20 of RVI and its been all over the place from 25 to 73 and now back in the high 20s. RVII holding would be less than 0.5% so maybe it would be worth the risk. Even if it went to 0 it wouldn’t be a big issue for me.
RVI is 15% Databricks
Is anyone requesting RVII shares? On one hand it’s crazy to invest in companies I’ve never heard of, but I like that it’s all Y Combinator companies, and I made some money off RVI, so I might.
RVII is 100x worse than RVI
I got burned on the first RVI
lol Robinhood launched another RVI 😆
Take a look at RVI for long term gains
I’m buying 50k-100k in puts on Monday. I’m absolutely certain in will tank once the shares unlock. It’s float will go from 5m to 32m shares, and people want out. DXYZ, RVI, PWRL all close ended funds are trading at NAV or below, VCX is the only one trading at a 200% premium left. Once those shares unlock it will quickly revert back to NAV.
Russian VIX up 25% yesterday? RVI
Anyone use RVI when looking at option plays?
What's going on with RVI?? I own 45 shares the dividend is up to 760 and there's a message at the bottom that says I can close my position, but can't purchase anymore shares.
What are your thoughts on RVI??
Yes, I know but I didn't invest much in RVI. I had my doubts but after the huge dividend, I think that it's worth holding for a while. In fact, NASDAQ said that their last dividend yield on 1/19/2022 was 710.97%. I did not get that but I still got a lot. If Reddit will let me post it, I will give you RVIs dividend history. [https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/rvi/dividend-history](https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/rvi/dividend-history). I look at REITs two ways--growth or dividends. The best would be both but that doesn't usually happen.
There's so many solid REITs that I don't get why you would buy RVI.
You RVI statement doesn’t make sense. Warren buffet would buy every share of that reit if dividends were 55% of the share price
Too late for RVI calls? I have fresh ruble powder
Well im gonna tell you look up RVI as sentimenr indicator its russian volatility index. So far we only has 3 times above 100 in 2014,2020, and yeaterday. All these times rub was at its low against dollar. So make sure you dont buy resistance at least.
Can someone please explain how RVI has a dividend yield of 702? Wouldn't that mean we'd be getting free money? Something doesn't add up..
Nobody else got their dividends from the RVI stock? Lol
Who else got their dividends from RVI?
What are the pros and cons of buying puts on crazy high dividend yield stocks such as RVI or SSSS and counting on a major stock price drop through the Ex date? I’ve seen a few like RVI that dropped over 75% in 48hrs after Ex date.
Curious, was everybody only buying RVI for their high dividends?
I want to understand if anyone has detailed info on $RVI remaining properties and cash. They recently sold 5 US properties and paid dividends of 22 per share. (I bought it for 14$ 😊). Obviously now the price has reduced to 6$. Not I am wondering based on existing properties and cash, is it worth getting into this again?
I don't think this is a squeeze play. RVI just paid a dividend of $22.04 per share. Therefore the price will be adjusted down by that amount or close it.
RVI dividends settling. Hoe my clit is soaked off it
better get with RVI b4 its 2 l8te
I am a bot from /r/wallstreetbets. You submitted one or more banned tickers: RVI. Message /u/zjz if they're above 1.5 billion-ish market cap and not related to crypto/pennies/OTC/SPACs.
RVI ex dividend day tomorrow paying $22.04 a share 🚀

It might seem to good be true, so I'll ask the obvious: what's the downside of holding RVI from 1to28 Oct 2021 and scoring the $22.00 special distribution? What am I missing??
Would RVI “retail value inc.” be a good short term play to make some money. October 1st they declare a special $22.01 dividend after the sale of properties and had $340 million excess. The ex-dividend is 10/13 and the payment date is 10/29, you will have to hold 1 day after the payment date so Nov 1st since it’s over 25% of the stock price. So $10,000/$27.70 “RVI stock price” = 361 shares x $22.01 = $7,945.84 in dividend payments from $10,000 🤷🏻♂️
RVI is declaring a 22 dollar dividend on Oct 13/14, any reason to not go into this play? Reminds me of TRCH
What's up with that RVI dividend
Each time RSI & RVI were in this range, $MNMD has rallied 20+% in the following couple of weeks. The last 3 times, it rallied \~174% (with news), \~20%, \~57%, and 37%. Its RSI is also oversold for the first time ever on the daily chart. Something to keep an eye on tomorrow.

The only point you've brought up as a reason for a potential crash is RVI, and you're becoming defensive now that I've brought up potential issues with your theory? I never said stock prices will continue to rise, but that also doesn't mean the market will crash. We could very well end up seeing below average returns for the next 5 years to compensate for the growth we've had over the last year.
The story is still the exact same. At each point, SPY was considered overbought, like SPY at $87 and SPY at $110. As another example, it indicated overbought on October 2017 when SPY traded at $259, just before the run-up to $288, and is trading inside the range even now. That is all while looking at the weekly candles. It's very easily to make that number seem higher than it is using the monthly candlesticks, because looking at the Russell 2000 on the weekly candlesticks, the RVI is actually sitting at the midpoint
It's not RSI. It's RVI Relative Volatility Index.
So volume adjusted moving average just crossed the simple moving average and is about to cross the estimated, standard error above standard deviation, SF/SS are fucking crazy and low, RSI stable, RVI increasing, MACD increasing. I think there's going to be a pretty big jump if any of this is actual buying and not hedgies literally moving around shares.
