Both let you save for a disabled person without messing up their SSI/Medicaid eligibility, which matters a lot since those benefits are usually the real foundation of long-term care. Important part: giving or saving money the wrong way can actually disqualify him from those benefits, even with good intentions. You could also keep the cash savings in the custodial brokerage account and invest the cash in fixed income investment which have the same risk profile as a savings account.
