You will never lose the tier you have staked into, if they change the requirements you will be grandfathered in using your existing stake. MCO holders experienced this and then CRO holders also experienced this last March, as far as I know no one was ever forced to unstake because of card requirement changes.

This is all correct ^ Crypto.com preys on new investors and has the worst fees of any exchange. The cards aren’t something that’s only on crypto.com either, Coinbase, Gemini, and even ledger (via baanx) is offering cards with various different rewards (including cash back in btc rather than a random CEX token) I was an icey stakeholder in crypto.com, left when MCO -> CRO switch happened, shows how little any of the participating actors have any say in governance. Would never use crypto.com again. Also why crypto.com is unlikely to surpass a Coinbase or Binance, because crypto.com has burned quite a few vets, and is continually burning newbies.

Im the same. Especially from anyone who is not heavy invested or has a big CRO stack. The platforms itself sucks, the app is no good, id just wish they put half as much effort into their actual product then all the marketing campaigns. I still see crypto.com as an exchange to avoid and i honestly wouldn't be surprised if CDC goes out of business on in the next 5 years. From everything i have seen from them, from the MCO days to their staking rewards i just get huge scammy and uneasy vibes from the CDC team, company

I honestly believe that in 5 years or so they will be the top exchange on the globe. I see someone already mentioned here about the CEO doing shady stuff in the past and I imagine they're speaking of the MCO / CRO swap. I was not in at the time but from what I've read about it it worked out very well and I'm glad they did it. They gave a 33:1 swap and later burned 70% of the supply. This was necessary because MCO had an ICO which could have caused it to be declared a security and put in a similar SEC situation as XRP. Binance was recently shut down and Singapore and had lots of trouble around the globe over the past summer. This seems to be due to them just opening shop everywhere and dealing crypto without bothering with the regulations. Crypto.com gets all the licensing and regulatory stuff first before they start operating in a new territory. Their motto is to put crypto in every wallet around the globe. Have you ever seen anyone do their level of marketing? They are getting into about every aspect of crypto and just passed one of the toughest audits a company can go through. Lots of people are quick to complain but I believe they have a whole lot more satisfied users such as myself. The market cap is still low and so there is lots of room for growth. I'm very glad I saved all that dip I bought over the summer and it's growing nicely staking validators. They have excellent documentation and educational resources. I'm pleased with the whitepaper and roadmap and what's been accomplished so far. They are experts at business, marketing and teamwork. Kris really demonstrated the importance of teamwork in the AMA they did last spring. Here's a couple of recent videos that are worth a watch if you have not seen them : The CEO Kris in Singapore talking about the metaverse : https://youtu.be/M0RGloQljLY A quick interview recently where he gives us some clues about the company's growth this year : https://nitter.net/jchatterleycnn/status/1461784469518618633?s=21

Some of their actions in the past were semi-shady like the MCO/CRO swap but since they've seemingly stepped up their game and nowadays crypto.com's offerings are quite compelling. They are offering one of the best crypto payment cards and quite good interest rates for their earn/savings terms. The spread on their noob-friendly main app is quite high so trading on the more advanced Exchange platform is recommended. Unfortunately the crypto.com Exchange with the more advanced features is not yet available in the US. The situation with the main app and the Exchange app is similar to Coinbase and Coinbase pro.

Well, I am already using a Visa crypto card from Crypto. com ever since inception - since CRO was MCO. But great news that VISA itself is starting to take crypto even more seriously. There are lots of developments in this space - the banking system and financial institutions are coming onboard. There is also Scallop Network that takes Crypto. com even further. They are bringing the first combined bank accounts - where we can use both crypto and fiat currencies. And the neo-banks are also integrating crypto - you can buy crypto on Revolut as well. But you can’t interact on the blockchain (you can’t transfer to a wallet and so on… so I’d avoid). But my point is that steps are being made in the right direction and we are seeing similar news left and right. Exciting time to be alive, that’s for sure!

No one was talking about CRO last year when I was accumulating it as cash-back from the card… I was in since it was called MCO. Got a lot of CRO at 4 cents. I wasn’t even mentioning to people that I had it cause no one knew about it… And the same it’s happening again, no one is talking about SCLP now. And they will bring the first bank accounts with both crypto & fiat. The trick is to enter before the masses… I sold my CRO now. Got enough gains. But it could go higher, just that for me it’s time to ride another one from its infancy!

I’ve been riding CRO from the beginning when they swapped our MCO tokens for CRO. I bet that not many people know that Crypto. com was called Monaco app before they bought the crypto. com domain… I knew they are up to something because they were the first with the crypto cards in Europe and cash-back in crypto for daily purchases. Now Scallop is the first with the combined crypto + fiat bank accounts in Europe. Worth having a bag of SCLP, that’s for sure!

The first time iv seen them Last November I was mainly in ETF. I was still pissed about my epicfail in 2017-2018 when I joined late, spent loads of money on mining rigs and basically spent my summer in a 50C top floor apartment without AC While 5 GPU blasting my face all summer to mine coins, only to everything crash and have to sell everything and left with 0 profit. So I was doing very well in 2020 thanks to covid in ETF when I noticed the same silence around crypto, like it was in early 2017 and had a dejavu...so I started checking projects again going through top 100. I found obviously the most catchy name, [crypto.com](https://crypto.com) and started reading up on them, whitepaper, history (MCO was a bit discouraging) and seen that they already have like 500 employees, all head of departments on LinkedIn, I signed up to their services to test, and I was more than impressed. They had a full lin of product and an established team and fancy roadmap, which never really failed to deliver. I maybe exxagarate, but this list so far was enough for me to prefer them over bitcoin or even etherium, so I went full ape in and invested everything I earned from ETF, which was already 300% of my lifesavings later I spent every penny from my spare money for a year and now we are here I'm approximately made 10 times of my savings overall in the past 2 years. (also CHR went a 20x, now down to 10x) I will buy a house soon, but I will try to spend as less as possible and HODL CDC as I think easily 6 x still in it, but if it can be a base for the crypto mass adoption then in a decade in can be a trillion dollar company. That is my plan, and I can be wrong at many ways.

Also, crypto.com fucked over a lot of people with MCO. A lot of the newer people who shit on binance day in day out probably don't even know this. BNB is the OG, and binance made the plans with the token clear on day one. People thinking that CRO may go to the marketcap of BNB are delusional imo.

I already drop some comments explaining why CDC is a company that we should be very very wary about. I really don’t feel like writing an essay on it again, it’s just tiring let me compile: - they lied about MCO - changed card requirements 3 times without noticing customers - changed “minimums withdrawals” without noticing customers - denied cashback and changed the rules without noticing customer yet again - card delivery times - support very robotic and copy paste - pressure to FOMO into their cards. - leaded by a guy that never had success in the business world and apparently told they’d customers to buy bitcoin instead of CRO. - different treatment for US customers, they don’t need to pay to the upgrade card. And so on so forth. For this an many other reasons I left

Who loves CRO? It is MCO with a larger marketing budget. I was one of the first 1000 to lock up for a card and still do not have one… They pivoted to be an exchange when they realized globalized Visa approval was not coming soon and it shows in all of their products! Office is a post box? Seems a lot like a Binance that started late making an exchange, when originally their whole promise to investors was global cards within 5 to 8 weeks… or whatever the day meme was from Kris at the time. Where are the cards?? Broken promises, decent pivots, in a booming market, plus Matt Damon = price action.

Because it is all about the new wave, they gradually removed the people who had something to say about their MCO - CRO practice, and all of their other practices. Probably 98% of the customers are less than 1y/o(with CDC) As they said, it is easier to go from 1m to 10m than from 100k to 1m. I remember when they used to sell crypto like visual elrond for example, you buy your shit then it is unavailable for withdrawal cause they haven’t got it, i lost not only a lot of money doing that, but also insane staking opportunities cause they were selling something they couldn’t honor. It is always better to bring people that are clueless over because they cannot complain, what would they even complain about, average joe/jane heard about crypto.com thinking it’s probably the creator of all the cryptocurrencies. Anyway, who was here before should be pretty aware of what happened. Kris saying official stuff just to take it back and do the opposite, yeah, the CEO. Other than that the card itself is hands down the best out of the market, for some reason swipe got more abandoned than integrated with binance, bnb card itself is almost not existent, plutus, monolith(purely blockchain card<pretty stupid for practical reasons>, eidoo, etc are just really not worth touching. What new people won’t expect is that once the sentiment changes and this furious advertising in bullrun mode will indeed bring a lot of people with no idea, but those same people with no idea will shit on cdc for being scammed once cro drops, just imagine.

Since your asked for cons on CRO I’ll do my best to be sceptical (which many in the thread seems to ignore). They had another token earlier, MCO which they swapped for CRO. I don’t know the details of the swap but have heard that many got dissappointed or felt screwed over. It wasn’t a rug pull or anything, but an exchange-coin like CRO, BNB, CEL etc can change their terms, do a coin swap or anything else overnight which has huge impact on the coin. While it’s unlikely that they try to screw you over (as they make money on not ruining their business) it is a possibility that the thing they offer (such as a crypto card) stops working in your/another region which impacts you directly or though price swings. I hold exchange coins myself and think they offer good utility for the negative part of centralization. But each need to consider that risk themselves :)

r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

The app is kinda crappy and the exchange isn't available in the US. They also had another coin called MCO in the past they decommissioned in favor of CRO and there's no guarantee they won't do something similar in the future. That's all I could come up with. The app and the exchange can be fixed, easy. The threat of another new coin in the future, I'm not sure what to say about.

I had people tell me CDC was a bad investment, and that was after going through the MCO conversion. Held on tight and riding high now. Chasing gains is the fastest way to lose them IMO.

They pretty much got killed by regulations. I'm still surprised crypto.com aka MCO won the crypto card war, whom also had a sketchy and rug pull background. Apparently MCO holders got REKT though.

A lot of people are forgetting the MCO fiasco. Centralized exchanges are just a necessary evil for now, so don't get too hyped for any one of them. Crypto.com is no different (speaking as a Royal Indigo card holder).

MCO? Isn’t that the really old token that became $CRO ages ago?

You are right. But it's old news. MCO to CRO was a huge Scam. But I like money more than holding a grudge. So I bought a bag cheap.

Monaco MCO and Crypto.com

Mentions:#MCO
r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

The makers of crypto.com scammed a bunch of holders of their Legacy coin and Monaco. Instead of doing a backwards-compatible software fork they basically just change their minds and decided to rebuild their entire blockchain and offer a very fucking shitty exchange rate between MCO and CRO. Honestly I'm surprised that the people behind Monaco and crypto.com are not in jail right now. They basically scammed everyone who invested in MCO/Monaco. You cannot trust these people.

In the Ensogo situation, Kris was left as a scapegoat by the chinese.. but you are right that the MCO-CRO swap fucked the original Monaco investors big time and still remains super shady and unexplained. It seems like this business model is more stable than any of his earlier project though, I haven't heard any promises that weren't fulfilled in the last 1.5 years (just US exchange Q4 this year, which we will see if they make it in a month).

Any product that requires you to buy, hold and lock up a native token for an extended period of time is dangerous. CDC are currently market selling $10 million+ per day of CRO to keep feeding the rebates, when that supply drys up, they more than likely will be forced to do another MCO-->CRO dilution swap.

Sure. Sure. I got into it when it was MCO and then there was a swap. It made sense to have one coin on a native blockchain. It’s a safe platform with fantastic benefits. People are down voting you because they like the service as well, it’s not some conspiratorial social media push. Personally, I think you should get over whatever hang ups you have abt the platform, it’s going to be around for a long long time.

Well the card is working with Visa and they certainly partnered up with Visa. Now we have many more partnerships that are already up and running. I’ve been with them when MCO still around, i did not have that much expectation really after they “failed” the moon stopover, but i feel that they delivered 10 times more than whatever they promised.

Yea they used to be Monaco with MCO and then they screwed over peeeps during the MCO -> CRO conversion I can't remember if they bought the crypto.com domain to shift away from the reputation they had at the time, or if they bought the cdc domain first and that's why they were promising MCO holders they weren't gonna be switching things up though I'd have to go back and look at that

Yup, I remember losing 20% of my value literally overnight last year when they decided to drop support for MCO and force everybody to convert to CRO. I remember having funds “locked” staking for their cards while they made change after change. They can change whatever they want about their rewards or card offerings, but I couldn’t pull out. I never even got my card. 3 months in I contacted support and was told to give them $50 more for another or fuck off. They were unwilling to provide any tracking info or evidence that a card was ever sent. Above all, I remember the reason why I will NEVER trust CRO. Giving all that power to a centralized figure is exactly what I want to separate from with crypto. They are a business and will make business moves to take your money. I have a feeling, next bear market there are going to be a ton of pissed of CRO users experiencing the exact same shit I went through. I don’t care if the coin is up now, it’s dangerous to give that power over my funds away and I will never make the mistake again.

I remember when this happened. Luckily, I was still had some time in the Earn program and they honored the contract. When I had to restate for my Indigo card, it was at a lower percentage which sucked a bit. However, overall, I am still a happy customer. I’ve been in since MCO with a $250 buy in. I’ve only used the rewards to level up. At this rate, they have paid me $2k in rewards this year alone and I will continue to use them.

Been a cardholder since June last year and was pretty ticked at the swap since I had just staked. Chalked it up as the price of admission for the perks and metal card with the intention of never unstaking. Since I got burned buying MCO at basically its ATH, coupled with the swap, for the longest time, CRO was my worst performing investment. But within the last month, it's become best ROI yet. Patience is certainly key.

But who here had MCO and converted to CRO when CRO was .01??? Those are the real winners. Is it possible that we can see it go to $5 or $7 or dare I say ? $10??

Mentions:#MCO#CRO

Yeah, they were getting a lot of backlash. It was understandable, as the original MCO investors were screwed over a little bit (there holdings were diluted even though it worked out as the same $ value). It was more the way they went about it than anything. I stuck with them, but I can understand the anger. They've seemed to have improved their communication with their customers since then thankfully

I get it. You didnt make money with MCO. You’re butt hurt. But CRO is doing a lot of things right. Sure, their past are not the brightest, but they were relentless in making sure they do things right. Their future is bright. With all this marketing, they are making a statement. They cant run from here. They simply have to do things right, or jail time. If they are a shitty platform, they would hide operations, hide exec teams. Surely all this publicity is not advantageous for a dark business, dont u think so?

Noobs trying to make a buck on CRO and all hype, they likely don't know about the former MCO scrub or even realize there's is a chance a company in Singapore could pull the rug at any time. I have no beef personally with crypto dot com but I do my trades on other apps and places I subjectively trust more. Read the fineprint on what they can do like changing terms at any time, only accept deposits from checking or savings (how about money market? Or trading accounts?) they will so far I tested it but the fineprint is there

People probably shouldn’t FOMO on CRO. As an ex-icey stake holder, my belief is the impending crypto winter would likely put CRO at pre-pump prices. ~$0.15-0.20. Also crypto.com is tailored to catch new users however the platform itself is terrible compared to any alternative. Worst market spreads, terrible withdrawal fees, only things it has going for it is the defi wallet and some of the rewards for being a cardholder. For me it wasn’t even worth keeping because I rarely if ever watch Netflix or use Spotify, the only thing that was nice was the lounge rewards but I have other cards that give the same access without locking up 40k. Jade card may be worth it, but I’m long off the platform now. Also the whole MCO to CRO thing = pretty sketchy business practices

Agree. I’ve been with CDC from the beginning, when MCO was airdropped and been hodling on since adding to the bag. I remember a while back CDC was hated on this sub, which is amusing me today. Let the downvoting begin, I’m used to it.

I’ve held CRO for years now. First bought it when it was still MCO. I like it because it’s useful. The card gets me cash back. I get good interest rates on btc I stake. A lot of other crypto, I wonder what it actually does. What’s the point? I use the card every day. Fast food, groceries, pornography. Crypto.com is also crazy about compliance. They do everything by the book. Right now you’ll be buying at ATH. But you’ve got to start somewhere.

you seem to be missing a lot of insights about cdc least assuming it’s not just a Binance shill post 🤔 - cdc isn’t new at all if you include the MCO times it’s older than Binance - you have a ton of earn programs, DeFi staking etc (as for your stimulus programs) - it’s own blockchain is called cronos so yes it has one too - we can argue all day about UI but comparing exchange to exchange (web versions) there’s not much different - different to Binance they put significant effort into meting local regulations (referring to various places banning Binance or parts of it) and so on … again UI is in the eye of the beholder but other than that, there’s very little that would still speak for Binance … would chose Coinbase as well as kucoin over it anytime 🤷‍♂️
