Deep sea mining offers access to rare minerals for green energy and AI, reduces reliance on unstable regions, meets booming demand, supports national security, and promises huge economic returns so tens of billions will be poured in over the next several years. Huge potential in $TMC $MP & OMEX IMO
The United States is boosting investment in deep-sea mining as Lockheed Martin renews seabed licenses, with $TMC and $OMEX positioned to lead the charge in unlocking vast critical mineral reserves essential for defense, energy, and technology, offering major upside potential as demand sky rockets!
The United States is ramping up investment in deep-sea mining, with Lockheed Martin renewing seabed licenses and companies like TMC and MP poised to secure critical minerals essential for defense, clean energy, batteries, and advanced tech industries. What is your favorite related play?!

$TMC $MP Huge News and Upcoming Catalysts + Bonus Speculation!

TMC, if deep sea mining actually kicks-off and permits are granted this could be huge. Permits have been applied for and should get permission within a year (or two?).
TMC plans to send nodules to PAMCO in Japan for processing, so they would go to a country that is part of the critical minerals resistance. Moreover, there is talk of govt offtake agreements for stockpiling TMC's nodule, I don't know if that changes your calculations if it happens?
Appreciate the detailed answer! I had money in TMC at one point and pulled some decent profit out of it. I haven’t kept up with critical minerals space since I got out, but I am interested to hear about the dominant players.
One man's opinion and not the guy you asked - TMC won't make it. Same problem as all juniors: no refinement/processing. The TMC bulls will spout nonsense about Brownsville port in TX. What they won't tell you is it isn't funded (yet) and while it may get funding some day you're talking about 5-7 years and 2-3 Billion to do so. And that's just to START running ore/nodules through it. That's precisely why MP is in the dominant position out of all REE names. Their refining was mostly in place when they bought it out of bankruptcy in 2017. It took them six years to get it operational and it's now ramping. This shit takes time. TL;DR - if a miner has to send their ore to china to be refined you haven't solved the problem
TMC is working on licensing through NOAA(American regulatory agency) to mine seabed for critical minerals. They also have plans to build massive domestic processing and refining hub in Brownsville Texas (1500 acre site). They are also partnered with Korea zinc and they are currently building a $7.4 billion integrated non-ferrous metal refinery in Clarksville, Tennessee. I know deep sea mining is completely new endeavor, but I think there could be huge gains to be made if they receive the full approval/license to start mining and can actually pull it off, which I know is a big IF.
People might think this is a joke, but it’s literally happened before with $FORD (confused with Ford Motor Company) and $TMC (confused with TSMC)
TMC, 2027 will be an interesting year

TMC will whiplash all day and end +5%
Wow, should've bought TMC this morning
honestly, I think any that are producing in the US will be good. I've got TMC right now. I'm kind of banking on some asymmetric growth with their ability to scoop up nickel and other rare earths just sitting at the bottom of the ocean. USAR should start rebounding soon. MP is another play there as well. I'm long on the leveraged junior minors ETF as well. That should be pretty hot over the next year I'd guess. Commodities are going to be hot, both due to inflation as well as the demand the AI bubble is putting on them.
TMC is retarded. There are so many hurdles they’ll be facing. Yes there are huge deposits, but deep sea mining is a lot more expensive and riskier than above ground. Also the supply is secondary, they won’t be able to process their feedstock and that’s where the money is.
Wow $TMC is dead. Way does the gram keep promoting that thing
I’m bag holding TMC, OKLO and KRKNF. Y tho
Im actually highly profitable at SPY 0dte and 1dte, yet I keep losing money buying options in stocks. TMC better rip 6%+today, otherwise there goes a wasted 1k
TMC going back to the 3’s.

Oh neat I didn’t realize TMC had earnings today, some more losses to look forward to in after hours to offset spy gains
6 days ago The Motley Fool said to forget about TMC and to go for another rare earth trade. So naturally im gonna inverse that
TMC as a cheap lotto for next week
Anyone playing TMC for earnings? Looks like the chain has some deep call positioning on 8/21. Better bet then Hrtz 🤡
My TMC avg was below $2 for a while, I sold it all when it hit $6 the first time. I didn’t fomo back in during any of the spikes, instead I’m selling CSP’s for a nice premium and decent re-entry. Currently hold 12000 shares at just under $5, can’t wait for late 2027. This company has a real chance to shave a few years off my retirement.
TMC is by far my biggest conviction play rn the fact that TMC went over 11 from an executive order that didn't even name them directly last year when they're on track to get their recovery permit in less than a year and it's below 5 bucks right now. I'm thinking that if/when they get their permit that would take it over 11 easily.
This was how my taxable account started, I got into various air and cruise lines with about 2k. Sold it all for about 5k, dumped everything into Palantir and TMC. Now I casually run wheel options for 6-800 a week with little stress and a nice payout every month
Can’t forget about TMC
Hoping this mining meeting with Trump hits TMC
USAR and TMC to the moon, big rare earth metals meeting today
I don’t understand TMC
Some noise with TMC and this critical mineral summoning - may get a temporary bump above and beyond the current bump.
part of why I have TMC (the ocean). I see your point there. I suspect though with commodities rising like they are, it's only a matter of time I suspect. Mars is a bigger lift (and reward) obviously, but pulling H3 off of the moon for next generation fusion power likely happens sooner than later.
Why is TMC not talked about more
Chat what's the thought on TMC metal?
TMC and other rare earth stocks.
The first uptrend is ASTS when it took off. I sold a position early that would have been worth $1.2m at the top... The next random spike is when roaring Kitty came back, then got wrecked. Forgot what I did after that but it wasn't great. The jump from 8-30k was a weekly microstrategy call play from the user here that recommended PEW to everyone and then crashed out. After that I full ported $TMC options for a while, you can see the three big spikes that match that chart. Now I'm not full porting but mostly porting $SLS options bio-tech, the most degenerate shit. Bought into SLS around $1.80 with a small position and it's mostly just been offsetting my $TMC losses all year.
I made a mistake. I never owned TMC. I meant to write TSM. This losing money has me losing my mind too.
I'm down \~30% on TMC since I started buying in April. I buy into it to lower my average. I brought it from \~6.50 to 5.07. Still, these <4.00 prices are extremely low. Lowest prices in a year. It will break back up, eventually, so I am holding. If it hits 7.00 then I might sell to lower my exposure. TMC is \~14% of my portfolio.
I was holding shares of TMC and fool that I am bought more in premarket thinking I'd get in at a low price. It keeps dropping. I'm getting hit hard today. Really really bad. My port is concentrated all tech.
ASTS NBIS TMC bagholder. im so cooked
I used to do swing trading on TMC but it hasn't swung up in 3 months.
We’re all just waiting for TMC huh
If you wanna play it safe XME... if you wanna play strong individuals MP, USAR... if you want longterm small cap with big gains LAC, TMC, UURAF
Memory stocks are probably gonna close where I sold today. They’ll pump at TMC earnings so I’ll FOMO back in…and then the cycle is gonna repeat itself with the stocks immediately collapsing
Also, don't conflate TMCR money for TMC money, they own some of TMCR, but not all so its minimal.
TMC finally has some revenue! Down today hit a great sign going forward. Still believe in this one.
How many analysts are following TMC around the world? 1000? Probably. The past is largely irrelevant the second it happens. Earnings were exactly what everyone expected.
$TMC Trumps corruption will take this far!
I'm blessed with the ability to pick huge winning stock at the absolute bottom. I'm cursed by being the most paper handed bitch this sub has ever seen. notable achievements. Palantir Bought at 7.23. sold at 17.50 Rocket Lab Bought a 4.38 sold at 9.50 TMC bought at 0.70 sold at 1.35 ASML bought at 480. Sold at 600 Cameco bought at 22.71 sold at 33.00
Yeah atm, but I'm *hoping* the hardware breakthroughs will materialize in like 10 years. The Chinese are working on stacked 3D chip designs to rival TMC and also some other advancements ([ferroelectric transistors](https://archive.ph/6VCmz) for combined processing and memory). So hopefully ram to run a large LLM will become cheap enough. Just speculation, but then we might not see a monopolization.
You are just scratching the surface but i am mining deep. AREC REA and TMC are what im counting on
This makes me pretty averse to buying TMC shares. Execs have overwhelmingly done nothing but dump shares for the past 3 years. USAR and MP insider buying dont look too swell either, but considering the govt equity, I think it these two have a stronger bull case. https://preview.redd.it/2vwke67ug9ch1.png?width=1293&format=png&auto=webp&s=ec8dd2b3432a809906521ba8a6cdf327f9bc822e
If you mention rare earth's you need to mention TMC the metal company as well.
Here’s my high level DD on TMC! $TMC — TL;DR: Only company in line for the first-ever US deep-sea mining permit. Decision \~Q1 2027. Trades at under 10 cents per dollar of its own NPV because one document is unresolved. The Pentagon has been deploying billions into minerals companies with equity stakes and price floors. I hold 3,100 shares @ $5.87 with exits pre-set at every level. AThe setup: One rock on the ocean floor contains copper, nickel, cobalt, and manganese. The US imports \~100% of its manganese and nearly all of its nickel and cobalt. China has restricted exports of 11+ minerals in three years, and the Hormuz closure just gave the world a live demonstration of what chokepoint warfare costs. Washington got the message: executive order, fast-track NOAA process, national security framing. The receipts: TMC filed its application the same week NOAA opened the fast-track lane. Every milestone since has landed on schedule. You don’t have a world-first application ready to file unless you knew the lane was coming. The board was built for access: Hess oil family money (the family patriarch gave $1M to the Trump super PAC weeks before the fast-track rule appeared — it’s in FEC records) and Elon Musk’s personal attorney, whom the company publicly credited with helping “work with the new Administration.” The Pentagon playbook already exists: $4.5B+ deployed into minerals companies. MP Materials got equity, a 10-year offtake, and price floors — and tripled. The DoD also owns 40% of the new refinery belonging to TMC’s own refining partner. Allseas — the company building the actual collection ships, and a \~14% shareholder — just accepted 7.3 million shares as payment for development work instead of cash. The contractor chose stock at $4.66 over invoiced dollars. The people building the machine are betting it works. Glencore has held rights to 50% of the flagship project’s nickel and copper for years. PAMCO in Japan has already smelted 2,000 tonnes of real nodules at a commercial facility. The customer chain exists before the mine does. Market cap: \~$2B. The company’s own project NPV: $23.6B. Under a dime per dollar, entirely because of one pending document. The bear case, stated honestly: The risk isn’t NOAA saying no — it’s the courts. Lockheed attempted this under the same statute and was stopped by litigation in 2015. Environmental groups have already signaled they’ll sue again. Filed lawsuits are expected and priced in; an injunction is the real kill shot. My honest odds of a permit that survives and works: 55–60%. This can go to zero with no soft landing. Size accordingly — I did. Position and plan: 3,100 @ $5.87. The ladder is set and non-negotiable: trim 10% at $6 (with tax-loss harvesting on my highest-cost lots), scale out at $15 and $18 — full cost basis recovered at $18, everything after is house money — sell a major tranche at $100, and hold \~1,000 shares permanently for the scenario where this becomes an established American industry with dividend potential. If it fails, I lose \~$18K at a size I planned for. Catalysts: 7/13 critical minerals trade report • 8/13 earnings + 8/14 13F filings (institutions hold only \~11% — if the permit lands, they build toward a normal 40%+ into a float that’s one-third locked by insiders) • Draft EIS in Q4 2026 — the one that matters most. For reference: the stock ran $1.72 → $11.35 on the executive order alone, with zero hard milestones achieved. The permit, a Pentagon deal, and the first production would each be larger events than the EO — landing on the same thin float.

I’m a defen so 1. BMR 2. HOVR 3. TMC
I actually added on recent dips. Position is up to 2800 contracts now. I am now 'full port TMC'. No difference in thesis for me, but I recommend you have a look at the discord where you can see very bullish and more risk averse takes.
wish TMC went to the fucking moon like it was supposed to. I guess we'll just buy rare earths from china as usual and keep dogging them on the mainstream media and I'll go fms.
I was buying TMC at $9 in Sept 2021 $2 in March 2022 $0.88 in Jan 2023 And its currently around $4 If it goes under $4 it could fall back low to around $2 but likewise above $7 it may reach double digits. Until it breaks through one of those numbers either up or down it will just bounce between $4-7 Just keep an eye on it
I went from 25k in 2020 to 850k in 2025, lost 250k in a few weeks when TMC dumped. I put the remaining 500k in SPY then 100k left in TMC, I'm at 650k now and I paid my taxes on the gain. Don't be dumb and take profit even if it only selling half.

What do you make of the New York Times writing an entire article heavily focused on TMC? https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2026/06/03/climate/deep-sea-mining-tests-hidden-gem.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share
Do you own your house and have low debt?....good time in your life to take a risk...take a shot at one stock you see being the future with 25k....or even 50k if it's only your bonus player....more of my thoughts...the war being over has been priced in 10 times already....I would not lump sum into tech right now...I'm also low 40's and would do exactly this if I had a 50k bonus and all my other bills/family taken care of...either buy 25k TMC @5.90 then wait for 3 months to see which way sp500 heads, any significant dip before November 4.65-5.25 area we are making buys. If you had 6100 shares of TMC @ avg 5.9 on September 29th 2027 you are going to be very happy with yourself....OR try to find the bottom of RKLB within the spacex ipo....25k in @90 and dca back to 65-70 if she goes there maybe if neutron doesnt fly this year...rklb will do what nvda did the last two years begining 2029...rklb is a 10 year hold just dont pay too much right now...all these space stocks could easy lose 20% and chop for a year or two wouldnt be unbelievable...these stocks might not be your flavor my point is if it is really just "bonus money" take a risk just this one time and pick one stock...find out how to get the best price for it and dont be a paper-handed bitch lol jks but really if you say "im not selling for 3 years!" Don't fucking sell for 3 years...good luck, id love an update when you make a choice. Cheers.
