Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) (NYSE: BW) announced today that it has received an initial $10 million order as part of an award valued at approximately $40 million to supply low-pressure Wet Gas Scrubbing (WGS) technology for installation at a major petroleum refinery in Canada.
Another example from my personal experience recently. . . I’m holding WGS, average share price of 111. Four months ago earnings were good, but still disappointed the street and it gapped down huge, about -30%. I held through the last four months as it found a bottom and consolidated. But in that same time I had my eye on both CRWV at 55 and CRCL at 105. I considered selling WGS at a loss and buying first CRWV at 55, then after dismissing that and missing that huge rally, I considered selling WGS and buying CRCL at 105, but didn’t. WGS has since rebounded, but not to my average share price at 111. I believe in the company and so am still holding. But meanwhile, I missed huge rallies in both CRWV and CRCL that could have erased my WGS loss had I sold it and captured gains to boot.

I asked Chat GPT about some low market cap stocks (sub $10B) with good financials and strong opportunity for growth. It recommended INOD, WGS and a few others. Pretty sure almost all the stocks it recommended are up 30% at least in the last 2-3 months.

Actually good question. The answer is yes he is approved to build basically rock metal ships which can be used like missiles. His clearance far exceeds satcom. Also he is in the spot to remove and move toward the future. We use old WGS satellites that are not the capability of musks starlink. Waste of US tax dollars. Hand then encryption device and a small starlink satellite and be done.

SPAC CM Life Sciences closed their business combination with Sema4 ( SMFR SMFRW ) in July 2021. In January 2023, Sema4 changed their name to GeneDx and tickers to WGS WGSWW. In April 2023, WGS completed a 1 for 33 reverse split. Last November, WGS was $1.25 to $1.50 per share. Biggest mistake of the year for me. Bought 200 shares of WGS for a small loss in beginning of year. Should have bought and forgot.

So both of those deSPACs are > 15 years old. GeneDx Holdings (WGS) stock underwent a 1-for-33 reverse stock split on May 4, 2023.
My bad then, I just saw WGS which I 100% know has reverse split, but I guess all of the others havent reversed split. But I guess you should take WGS out of the list as it is one of the worst SPACS of all time :D

Of course short read will remain relevant for many applications. I am not sure if Pacbio's short-read technology will become a winner, a lot of competition in that part of the market. Appearantly the quality delived with their Onse system is very-high which can be good for some applications (e.g. liquid biopsy). I have yet to have a look to the data myself, and a lot will depend on price competitiveness. My expectations are higher for the long-read segment of the company. I disagree with you statement that long-read sequencing is only useful to build a reference. I have heard clinical labs thinking about completely replacing all their other pipelines with Pacbio WGS because of the ability to detect structural variants, repeat expansions, etc. Another great advantage is the ability to directly measure DNA-methylation, which is not possible with short reads. And then there are applications in the RNA-sequencing realm where full-length mRNA sequencing can find different iso-forms of genes. Long-read will not fully replace short-read sequencing anytime soon, but there is still a lot of market share to gain by use cases where it can provide much added value. As the instruments become more readily available at large facilities I definitely predict growth. The technology was selected as the Nature method of the year 2022 for good reasons.

WGS up 70% in 5 days but I’m still bagholding from spac days so will never recover
it's a good question. Here are my top reasons. 1. This may be the last time you can get this stock at this price. up and down a little but yeah this is their cement quarter. 2. Sam Altman is running around asking for $7 trillion because he can't get enough chips 3. Sam Altman and Open AI released SORA which is just wild and proves they are genuinely getting closer to AGI 4. Countries need their own AI and on the last conference call Jensen brushed off any China concerns with the phrase Sovereign AI. Check WGS for reference. This means countries need to have their own AI that isn't US related. 5. Their supply chain is getting better so they are selling more chips 6. They're bringing even more ridiculously powered chips to their data center that can be talked about this quarter as forward guidance.

NTRA is significantly larger and that doesn't even get close to Quest and LabCorp. All offer genetic testing. You can't walk into a doctor's office and not see a Quest or Labcorp box. Nobody sees value in genetics testing currently. Look at what happened to BIOR(formerly progenity) and WGS(now GeneDX formerly Sema4). Neither was able to sell their genetics testing business and dumped it because it's a cash drain. Bior did a full pivot and WGS just dumped it to stick to the original GeneDX offering with a few extra tests in the hopes of getting some kind of pharma deal. This area needs pharma deals to help with the cash flow and pharma deals have dried up.
