There have been a ton of pre split runs. Shorts tend to cover before the float is reduced due to the split and this causes buying and scanners. ​ $KAL $BIMI $NUWE $MULN $RSLS $XELA $DXF $INVO $BIOL and all the ones I listed above have ALL had a 100%+ run pre-split even when it was announced there was one coming. Feel free to go back and check the charts on each of those between the time a split was announced and when it was in effect. They all ran before
Hello! Please can Y'all give me your thoughts on Exela Technologies Inc (XELA) stock? The software Company lost 99.8% of it's value over the last few years due to mismanagement and overexpansion (I believe), however as it's core its a $1B turnover company working with 4,000 intuitions, 60% of the top 100 US Companies and provides software to all 10 of the world's largest banks and I'm told investing into AI. The Company as of today is valued at only $37M, it has a lot of debt but is a very large organisation, can I get your thoughts on this stock? I put in $650 this morning and it's up about 4% today, although it's been somewhere volatile over the day, should I take my $25 profit and run or keep it in there? I don't mind losing my investment but if it's a really stupid stock to hold perhaps I'll pull it out.

When a stock drops below $1 it is probably being shorted. Just before a split, the short seller might short down to trigger as many stop losses as possible because a split cancels all orders, including stops. After the split, there are no limit orders in place so there is no support at any price so the short will drive the price down as far as they want. As you pointed out, companies that drop below $1 don't have sufficient revenue to protect their share price from a predatory short seller. Raising money is the main reason companies list on an exchange. That's what the market is for. Of course they need to sell shares. When $XELA, which comes up at the top of the shorted list on my screener, asked holders to vote for the revers split, they specified it was because not being listed on a major exchange would interfere with their ability to attract institutional investors. Companies that don't rely on institutional investors often don't consolidate. The executive of the companies usually hold shares. The are also hurt by a reverse split.
Don't forget MULN, XELA and APRN, it's burned so many times but still being pumped every few months.
I’ve been in this play for a while and believe in the fundamentals of the company… It seems like every earning report is a record breaker and the current management is actively engaged in getting the company out of a toxic debt obligation that led to the dilution and share price drop early this march. Don’t take this as financial advice though, hunt through some SEC filings, do your own DD! Hoping that this reverse split in addition to news from the company creates a squeeze like $XELA after it’s 1:200 split last month. Company has a lot of killer clients and is criminally undervalued imo.
TRKA looks like it might have a post RS pump. If shitty XELA can do it, so can this. Maybe needs 1-2 days. Otherwise on sidelines waiting for the next squeeze play
No it hasn't updated and also yes, $XELA is a dogshit stock.
$XELA split on May 15th and had a resulting float of 6.37M. On the 15th and 16th the volumes were 54M and 47M. I'm betting someone has over 100% of the float. I suppose they could make a side deal and we would never see it; but, it could be a real squeeze.

A half way tenable theory is: “gee, these XELA shorts are already up 99%, maybe they’ll buy back their shares to close off the trade and it’ll bounce to $7 or something”. But this garbage automatically goes to the land where OP needs to be mocked and treated like a clueless clown lighting his money on fire.

I have a post for you that I will send out on Monday when I have time. It is another supply/demand squeeze like my last post when I called XELA. It is about to take place after a reverse split coming soon. It’s not truly a short squeeze but acts similar since the liquidity is so low the demand can create a 🚀 to the 🌙. If you want to read the sec filings and get ahead of the curve it’s WETG. The math on this one should it split is a very crazy idea for a split. It leaves less than 2m outstanding shares in the best scenario since 52% is restricted. It also states no dilution coming so if they do immediately it’s lawsuit time. I own 200k shares already NFA and neither will be the post but if you trade it right may do very well as long as it doesn’t get frozen and delisted while in rocket mode. There are always risks people should know that investing their money and reading Reddit posts is a dumb strategy if you have none of your own strategy blended in. You cannot hold forever in a squeeze those bag holders are just really ending up choked not squeezed.

However it just would not stop dropping. This morning has been good, pretty encouraging but I think we're in for a dead cat bounce rather than any substantial movement. I think todays play is to get in and out quickly and make sure you end the day green. SMFL at the bottom. That should show how much risk is in this today. Tiny market cap, loads of volume, and some really good movement (if inconsistent). ChatGPT expects it to open around $3.35 and trend up. With resistance at $3.52, and support at $2.61. Again, take these with a grain of salt. I think watching JCSE, TRVN, and possibly MF would be a good idea, too. Maybe XELA, too?

Yes, but XELA lost over half its share price between Friday morning and yesterday's close, so XELA stock is now back ( split adjusted ) to the share price on May 3. Looks like a low float run, although there should be about 6.4 million shares, not counting preferred, after the 1 for 200 reverse split Monday.

Definitely a bug on their end because according to the OCC you should get cash in lieu of shares equal to 1/200 of the price. https://infomemo.theocc.com/infomemos?number=52411 It's be interesting to see if it clears or bounces when they actually settle it, or if you end up short all those shares. Also the OCC memo says all settlement is delayed for XELA until they decide on the price...

Not sure about buyout but looking at the chart a lot of volume 4/24 or someone look a large position. I believe I read they doubled their line of credit to $150m from $75m but cannot remember if it was this stock or XELA as I’ve been researching both. XELA Monday is going to open with only 6.4m total shares after their reverse split over the weekend. Down from like 122m could also squeeze due to less liquidity so will watch both next week.
