It won't shut it down no. But it would slow down new adoption to almost zero. Imagine thinking "Hey maybe I'll buy some Bitcoin" Then doing research and finding out you need a BON to buy it on some site and you have no way to get Fiat back for it if you ever need to. How many people do you think would actually do that?

Heyo friendo. For staking I not consider the Swap a taxable event so if I have eth and exchange it for WETH it's the same damn eth (for tax). Now say I stake usdc anything I earn would be what I consider interest income and I would pay tax on it for the date that I received it. Say I'm earning BON token, at 10 BON a day. One BON is worth 1$ usdc, so every day I would add ten bon to my coin count, 10$ to my cost basis and I would be taxed on 10$ of additional income. When I go to sell that 10 BON for $11 then would have a capital gain of 1$ as I already paid tax on the 10$ of staked income. Now if your country doesn't tax staking then the full $11 would be a capital gain as I didn't pay tax on the BON.

Well, I don't endorse shilling of any kind, but I know what algorithmic stablecoins are, and did read up on this project as well..now. I am really dumb, so educate me on this...But aren't they suspectible to Flash loan attacks as well by manipulating the price? Haven Protocol, like most use blockchain Oracle networks (BON) for aggregating price data from various sources to maintain the peg. Monero is likely going to get the boot from the government regulations over privacy concerns and money laundering, and Haven intends to become a DAO soon. There is little on the roadmap to go on for now. They are also suspectible to miner reward validation hacks (which can become contentious in the future more), and DAO's can still have multiple points of failures, as evidenced by the Badger hack this week through UI glitch. Even Haven Protocol itself had a potential network impact in June itself where exploiters managed to make way with 2048 ETH in profits through Tornado Cash (A type of mixer solution). I don't have a clue if the mitigation process did result in a Treasury burn (or not). Terra & OHM and are trying to create their own solutions to the manage the Treasury (and hence, private governance mechanism), which is heavily dependent on team dynamic & communication. Again, there are inherent weaknesses in most crypto projects at the moment, and it's too early to say because we are atleast 5-10 years away from research related improvements happening at all network layers in blockchain ecosystem, ranging from blockchain distribution networks, oracles, gateways, apps and tokenomics. Still, it's good to know about new projects & scoping the right partnerships to see if it checks the right boxes and variable changes. Do let me know if you have the answers to those questions. Thanks.

tldr; Bank of Namibia (BON) has said it will not support crypto scam victims and they will not produce any resource. The bank repeated its previous crypto position from 2018. The aim of the FIA is to prevent from participating in money laundering, financing terrorism, and other illegal activities.
