So, what you are basically saying is, "If you cannot produce the exact answer to how Bitcoin is going to tackle the Quantum Computing conundrum RIGHT NOW, then that means Bitcoin will fail." So, let's think this through, shall we? As Quantum Computing develops the ENTIRE WORLD will be at risk (NOT just Bitcoin). Bank accounts, Investment accounts, NSA databases, your dog's PetSmar account - pretty much everything. To presume that "everything else will find a solution, but Bitcoin will be left behind" is pretty much ridiculous - after all, Bitcoin is a crytographic algorithm and as the "answers" to more secure cryptography (that can confront Quantum Computing) emerge, Bitcoin will also evolve. Banks are centralized, but NOT over the ENTIRE world. There's the Fed (in the USA), the European Bank, the Bank of Japan, etc.... They are NOT united in how they approach things, their policy or ever their goals. According to you, these banks will all upgrade easily. Seriously? BRICS would like to see the US$ replaced. How exactly are they going to suddenly "unite" and "upgrade". It is far easier for Bitcoin to "upgrade". Bitcoin is ALREADY a world-wide protocol. In only 15 years it has "united" people throughout the world on accepting the Bitcoin protocol as the mechanism to store and transfer value - spanning across nations and languges. Good luck getting the countries of the world to unite on their banking in any way even close to that! Your argument reminds me of the Y2K panic ("because the computers of the world cannot handle the Jan. 1, 2000 calendar date, every computer in the world will shut down and cease to function at midnight). The world started talking about this "event" years in advance. There were plenty of nay-sayers. They told us "the world would end as we know it." Businesses and individuals paid billions (or maybe trillions?) of dollars to pay people to upgrade their computers for this perceived technology crisis. In the end Jan 1, 2000 came and went and the world did NOT shut down. Humankind and technology "found a solution" and no one even talks about this anymore. It's the same thing with Quantum Computer (or any new/improving technology). We adapt and move on. Bitcoin will be no different. So stop being a "nervous Nelly". When you really think about it, the real amazing thing about Bitcoin is that it DOES work and it works incredibly well and it's only 15 years old! The current monetary system is a mess and give a huge advantage to THAT centralized monetary system (at the expense of all the people who do NOT own that monetary system). Change is coming, no matter what. Might as well be ready for it.
