No. External port checkers would return "closed" because the port forwarding (or virtual server) on your router does not point to the correct local IP address. As I said previously, I recommend while you are running your Bitcoin node, connect your mobile phone to the same network via wifi. Check on Chrome these URLs: http://172.21.174.18:8333 http://10.21.0.1:8333 http://172.17.0.1:8333 Two of those HTTP requests will return ERR\_CONNECTION\_TIMED\_OUT. The other one will return ERR\_EMPTY\_RESPONSE. The local IP address you should add to the virtual server rule (port forwarding also valid) is precisely the one which returns ERR\_EMPTY\_RESPONSE.

It did in fact time out (ERR\_CONNECTION\_TIMED\_OUT). right now the windows defender firewall is disabled. is there anything I could be missing?

If you don't have telnet you can also use a browser like this. 1. Make sure your mobile phone is connected to the same wifi network as your Bitcoin node. 2. Open Chrome browser on your mobile and go to this URL: [http://192.168.1.102:8333](http://192.168.1.102:8333) If on step 2 you receive on your Chrome the following message: "192.168.0.108 didn't send any response ERR\_EMPTY\_RESPONSE", then your Bitcoin node is accepting incoming connections on the local network. However, if on step 2 you see it takes a long time to get a response on Chrome browser and it finally times out (ERR\_CONNECTION\_TIMED\_OUT), then most likely the Windows firewall on the node is preventing incoming connections on port 8333.

Found a copy, download and spread it around like wildfire: [https://drive.proton.me/urls/12Y1SW9ERR#OnNky8sz5IfN](https://drive.proton.me/urls/12Y1SW9ERR#OnNky8sz5IfN) This is quite troubling, though not surprising in the least, ban something and I'm even more inclined to read it. It was on my list, but it's getting moved up after this BS.

She’s right. To all those who think CBDC’s aren’t coming. Think again. - and when it arrives, 100’s-millions of new crypto users will jump into it… oh that makes you ecstatic with joy… think again !! By “into it”… I don’t mean into BTC or ETH… I mean into the governments CBDC only. - b/c those 100 million general consumer users do actually want to be in crypto, but there’s no-way-in-hell they want to take on the poisonous risk of being in the filthy scummy untrustworthy mess that is BTC or ETH today (or any of the other scammy shitcoins, NFTs & token cesspools environments). Those new 100 million general users who are ‘waiting in the sidelines’ have zero tolerance for risk, have zero interest in playing with shitcoins, zero obsession in crypto tech & zero interest in BS Perpetual Futures leveraged bro-trading and they hate volatility. Average boring everyday users ERR-on-the-side of trust… the bigger the feeling of trust, the better their love for the product… and Lagarde totally knows that. She also knows that the average boring general masses actually trust the government (wether crypto degen bro trader maxis like it or not). They trust the govt. In the end CBDC’s are inevitable, and they’ll rapidly amass the largest user base of any coin, and all the degens will complain and laugh at the CBDC bag holders, but the CBDC-ers will all be just fine and they’ll all sleep well at night. - and the govt will truly get to crypto flex 💪. The only real questions are: - does a 100 million new crypto CBDC users validate & Bull the BTC & ETH markets or tank it? - How exactly does BTC & ETH continues to deliver on their ‘fantasy too-the-moon story arcs’ that all the DCA-ing HODLers have bought into when the largest user crypto communities & market caps are CBDC’s ?!?!

The patch is originally from https://gist.github.com/luke-jr/4c022839584020444915c84bdd825831 What it does is detect the "envelope" construct used in Ordinals inscriptions (ref. https://docs.ordinals.com/inscriptions.html) and errors if it sees it. It is (wrongly IMHO) using SCRIPT_ERR_DISCOURAGE_UPGRADABLE_NOPS for that (this construct doesn't involve nops).

https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0119.mediawiki Abstract This BIP proposes a new opcode, OP_CHECKTEMPLATEVERIFY, to be activated as a change to the semantics of OP_NOP4. The new opcode has applications for transaction congestion control and payment channel instantiation, among others, which are described in the Motivation section of this BIP. Summary OP_CHECKTEMPLATEVERIFY uses opcode OP_NOP4 (0xb3) as a soft fork upgrade. OP_CHECKTEMPLATEVERIFY does the following: There is at least one element on the stack, fail otherwise The element on the stack is 32 bytes long, NOP otherwise The DefaultCheckTemplateVerifyHash of the transaction at the current input index is equal to the element on the stack, fail otherwise The DefaultCheckTemplateVerifyHash commits to the serialized version, locktime, scriptSigs hash (if any non-null scriptSigs), number of inputs, sequences hash, number of outputs, outputs hash, and currently executing input index. The recommended standardness rules additionally: Reject non-32 byte as SCRIPT_ERR_DISCOURAGE_UPGRADABLE_NOPS. Motivation Covenants are restrictions on how a coin may be spent beyond key ownership. This is a general definition based on the legal definition which even simple scripts using CSV would satisfy. Covenants in Bitcoin transactions usually refer to restrictions on where coins can be transferred. Covenants can be useful to construct smart contracts. As covenants are complex to implement and risk of introducing fungibility discriminants they have not been seriously considered for inclusion in Bitcoin. This BIP introduces a simple covenant called a *template* which enables a limited set of highly valuable use cases without significant risk.
