Okay, so you're like respectfully saying none of my issues exist because you found workarounds. I am looking for advice if you would care to share.. bc I am having a hard time with this one.. I don't think they use JAWS or NDVA, just the on screen voice tool built into windows. Maybe I can get them used to using one of those softwares if they feel up to it. Also, friend is not an apple user. Uses an android Google assistant and voice control mostly.. So yeah I think you're right with the *just getting used to stuff* part. Bc until there is like a total solution it's going to be a bit of a learning curve with stuff. I love the idea of setting them up with an easy to use ENS or Unstoppable domain so if they want to exit to their wallet we can just put in "example.crypto" or what not to solve the receiving part. But the interaction with dapps and stuff still has me in a quarrel
Thanks for writing this op my girlfriend is completely blind and it seems like most of these problems are not real or exaggerated issues. The real problem occurs if the supposed individual in the post doesn’t have the tech skills to use a screen reader like JAWS or NDVA. Yes many websites are inaccessible but CB at the minimum should be accessible to ops friend. If they truly can’t use the website via a laptop then they should be able to use voiceover on a mobile device. I know 100% the coinbase app is accessible with voiceover (on Apple devices). [Secondly coinbase allows identity verification via a state issued ID l](https://help.coinbase.com/en/coinbase/getting-started/getting-started-with-coinbase/id-doc-verification) and is available in 43 US states op mentioned they were in the US they could be in a state it’s not available (to give op the benefit of the doubt). Lastly the supposed not being able to check the wallet information the address is being sent to is false as you mentioned. A user can copy/paste and listen to the pasted address to make sure it matches what was copied. Like you said it’ll take some getting used to but it can be done. Op is right that lots of websites don’t design with accessibility in mind and there are likely many low end exchanges/smart contracts that are inaccessible to his friends. But the we can’t do it mentality that op is suggesting seems misleading or false. Thanks again for taking the time to write your initial post and providing education for the people scrolling by.
