Ready to roll over and die on command, as long as the command is given by a perceived authority figure. Where as those with their own brain and ability to discern, feel they can have responsibility for their own lives and financial choices. I don’t think it’s like any casino purely luck based game. I think it’s most like poker.  Just like poker, those who win put in a shit ton of boring work reviewing data, history, trends, introspective work on emotional state.  Just like poker, there’s massive variance that’s impossible to foresee.  I was a mediocre breakeven online poker player, I’ve been making good money from BTC/ETH over the last year and a half. Back in December I tried my luck at alts buying RNDR and DOT around 6, sold in March at 11 when it went down, bought back again all in RNDR at 5.3. So far not so good rather mediocre gains there again but volatility isn’t anything special for me coming from a poker gambling background.  Anyhow just being pedantic.  All in Pepe Brett NPC now as well lmao

In the long run yes. In short time frames you can make far bigger gains with Shitcoins. My biggest position is NPC. I bought around 6 months ago. It went down like 50% in the past few days but this is what you have to expect from such coins. If people are worried if their Shitcoin goes down 25% within a day than Shitcoin gambling is probably nothing for them.

Because people follow mainstream news outlets. Bitcoin is only mentioned there when something remarkable happens. Like "Bitcoin 25% up this week". Then next week is "Bitcoin's bull run has no brakes!!!". Then silence, then months later it's a horror story of how Bitcoin is probably dying (for real this time trust us) because it dropped 7% in a day. So from an outsider's perspective Bitcoin looks like a manipulated asset that accumulates steadily over the span of a year and then crashes hard taking down the savings of anyone that fell into the "trap". The occasional real scam story like FTX has also solidified to the mind of an average NPC that Bitcoin is a bubble.

I have BTC & NPC in my wallet. These account for ~90% of my whole crypto portfolio. With BTC I don’t feel worried since I first got in, around 2016 and were buying in multiple steps more since then. For all that went from 2021 ATH to FTX crash the current price drop should not be something to worry about. For NPC I am a bit worried since Memecoins can die relatively quickly and than don’t recover. Luckily for me I bought most of it in beginning of April so I’m still a lot in the green. Personally I think we will hit the bottom very soon and go up significantly from there.

Now for something light hearted to counter doom & gloom in here. There is a cameo appearance of Satoshi in Wasteland 3 game. Early in the game you can encounter an NPC called Satoshi who wears a hooded robe and sits in a room full of computers. He'll give you a briefcase and tell you not to open it. If you are patient and hold the briefcase till the late game, he gives you a reward. Pretty neat reference to Satoshi and BTC.

Picking up a magic item, identifying it and selling it to an NPC would involve multiple transactions. Pick up item (Unidentified Magic Item NFT transferred to user wallet), use scroll of identify (Scroll of Identify NFT transferred to burn wallet, Unidentified Magic Item NFT transferred to burn wallet, Identified Magic Item NFT transferred to user wallet), sell to NPC (Identified Magic Item transferred to burn wallet). How about using health potions? This seems like it's probably not an insurmountable issue, but I haven't seen anyone address it yet. Since the blockchain isn't controlled by Blizzard, someone else would be doing all of these transfers, and they will want to get paid for it. A subscription fee could cover this, but now you've just introduced a subscription fee. If running something has a cost, the buck is not going to stop with the runner. That always goes to the user/consumer and there's no reason this would be any different. No one is going to run an app to facilitate gaming transactions at a loss. Quite the opposite. You're paying for running costs plus profit. Since they only run the marketplace, the developer will still need to do everything else on their end and ensure that their game is compatible with the app, saving nothing. Being able to effect transfers outside of the game would lead to an explosion in phishing scams. When I was playing Diablo 2, I was smarter than the average teenager. However, the average teenager is not smarter than the average teenager and I knew a lot of people I wouldn't consider dumbasses get scammed. I think that a lot of people, including a lot of people on this sub, don't use enough imagination when thinking about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. But I haven't heard a compelling use case for gaming yet.

You are 100% correct that the "money printer" isn't actually the federal reserve (though there's the whole eurodollar idea in the background, but that I feel is a whole nother can of worms). It's all the commercial banks lending currency into existence. I always have a little chuckle at the JP money printer meme because it is far from what is actually going on and just shows the ignorance of the general population (and even some of those within the economics space). I agree that it is interesting that a lot of bitcoiners have a distaste for the Fed instead of the banking system itself. I honestly think it's really just a lack of knowledge and a whole lot of confusion; which is probably on purpose... Also, at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter where the currency originates from; what matters is we now have a perfect money to combat it and the sooner we can get plebs/normies/NPC's on board, the better for humanity. I will add, if it weren't for Bitcoin, I probably wouldn't understand half of this or have much interest in it either... All of us (in the US at least) have been indoctrinated to not question the monetary scheme. This is slowly breaking but will take time.
