Yes, I here you. I have felt the same frustration. I have made my own mistakes. Crypto and blockchain technology aren't going anywhere soon. If you look at the big picture it seems at some point the US dollar will be on a blockchain. I would select a few sources to add to your knowledge. One I check on from time to time is Coin Bureau. Avoid tweets for now. Last year's late summer and fall I got hoodwink by some guy saying to buy xrp and some other xrp related coin. Seek someone that is successfully trading paper trade to evaluate them. Grab you a book on trading cryptocurrency or stocks. It will help you develop a mindset that we need in trading. I can't stress strongly enough get real familiar with AI. . PS. Now more than ever speed of execution is key. Strongly possible AI will help you with speed. I'm following Layah Heilpern. Plus the longer the compression the further the expansion so either way in a vertical accumulation pattern like weve been coiling in for years Im happy to catch the meat of the move & just TP after PS says pay attention then into strength of the BC. Then good thing the number in question isn't random? If the hackers just guessed a random number that had no context or relevance to anything, why would we be reading about it in a Bitcoin sub? If I made a script that generated a number that is either 3 or that terabyte long number from Lockheed Martin and ran it until it landed on that number then sold the results to China could I claim that it was randomly generated and thus just a random number? Its not like this is some new concept, I'm wondering if people are too young to remember the GeoHotz saga where he published the PS3 signing key, which was deemed illegal and he was forced to take it down. That was one of the first "big" discussions on illegal numbers (because it was short and easy to share) and that was over a decade and a half ago. But the first ones were way older than that with DVD DRM keys probably being some of the first.

The problem in coldcard was not that TRNG failed and there was a fallback. Lots of incorrect info is spread about it being a compiler flag, that was also not the issue. Coldcard had their own TRNG peripheral driver (a choice I can support, don't rely on a open source driver). Therefore they disabled TRNG in the library they used (that's the define, that was intentional). The library used PRNG as backup (we're still in compile time here, this is not a runtime fallback). The problem was that their python code called a function that ended up in the library instead of in their own driver. So the TRNG code was there all along (and as far as I can see even accessible from Python via another function name), but the random.byte() function they used unintentionally ended up using the PRNG (later they called the library directly with the same result). PS: I've used Claude enough to recognize your answer was at least largely generated by it.

PS: I just found an old article stating: "62 percent of airline websites not as reliable as they should be" and the article complained about the uptime. It was an old article from 2009 and i am sure today's internet is a lot better. But if they can get something that ensures uptime at webspeed, they will go for it.

Yeah, so I totally buy that folks are going to keep exploring the low-entropy input space for cold card wallets, and that's what we're seeing. Hopefully the legitimate owners will move their coin before the attackers do. But that still doesn't feel like open season more broadly. This type of attack is pretty common and well known in the security community, and is something many major players have gotten wrong. The XKCD entropy joke comic was getting linked widely all over the internet 15 years ago ago when the PS3 boot process was hacked due to a very similar bug, where the implementation should've used proper randomness but didn't, which led to anyone being able to derive the private signing keys and install anything to it. It was a pretty major case: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony\_Computer\_Entertainment\_America,\_Inc.\_v.\_Hotz. Like sure, folks will be pay more attention to basic entropy bugs for a while but there was already plenty of reason for them to do that.

Internet computer spans a network over the public Internet, ensuring decentralization from dependence of google cloud and AWS. But Internet Computer is no enemy of AWS and google cloud. The traditional cloud services benefit from Internet Computer by maintaining connection and application uptime during traditional cloud outtages by spanning the Internet Computer network on top of the internet, even using AWS infrastructure. Do you get it? It connects infrastructure. A safety net on top of the internet. This alone has a lot of value. A major AWS outage occurs every year and many outages happen locally. ICP provides a solution here and cannot be compared to other layer-1 blockchains that have nothing in common with anything ICP does.
