I was just there in SAL airport's immigration :) If you have time I'd recommend making it up to San Pedro La Laguna in Guatemala. It isn't too far and they are very bitcoin and backpacker friendly.

SAL doesn’t have particularly impressive service right now; trying to add a second international airport is going to either leave it largely sitting empty or fragmenting the country’s air travel. Given limited demand for flights, it’ll probably be the former.

Say whatever you want. I was in San Sal two weeks ago to invest and went to the USA v SAL qualifier at Cutcatlan- amazing experience and got some great business done. Best fans in the world. But it’s unstable. You’ve had 10 min with Bukele? I don’t care what Chase interest rates are vs BTC annualized returns. That’s not how investments work. Tesla, Amazon, Apple, whatever, I’m getting inside pricing and equity in businesses which execute. What do you think my 2mm in Amazon in 2005 is worth now. What do you think my 100k in crypto in 2010 is worth. Currency extrapolated from government removes sovereignty. If you want to make that bet, go for it. I’m betting on the guys with the nukes and the guns.
Dumb millennial Bitcoin promoters from outside EL SAL have no fkn Idea of the devastating mistrust Salvys have for government leaders or international influence. Bukele is a dictator. Smashes any dissent and promotes a technology that most the world has no idea about let alone the average Salvadoran. He brags about las remesa companies like Western Union not being able to benefit from sending dollars anymore because suddenly International Salvadorans are able to send Bitcoin without being charged? Who is making money off Bitcoin remesas? Who runs Chivo? All this is doing is benefiting rich Salvadorans and Bukele will be hiding from the law just like the last Presidents over the last 30 years. You don’t think COINBASE is making money?

Not my problem that you’ve selected a bad product. But you’re making an argument for Bitcoin- and those fees don’t exist if you use the right product so it’s a poor argument. I don’t have to call Amex or Chase. What are you talking about? Plus BTC does have significantly higher fees than a Satoshi. Look- governments need to be able to confiscate or freeze assets under warrant. It’s why SAL is using a wallet proxy app. But directing holding of crypto has sovereignty conflicts. You guys need to make better arguments.
Sal pay - bought $50k worth at around 40c/SAL. Team who are completely trackable just never made anything. They refunded some ICO investors, everyone else left hanging. Can’t even sell them for 1c….goodbye money!

Except for XVG, SVD and SAL, yes the project fundamentals are there. For example Storm has a working product, I was earning rewards by doing tasks on their app. SHIP, promised shipment tracking on the blockchain and claimed to have ties with various ports. SC, is a decentralized storage, although after looking closer, it does not do much more than IPFS. REDD, was one of the first working proof of stake, I got APY for my stake coins back in 2017.
