I have created a paper wallet and I generated the public/private keys with Ubuntu live + Electrum. Now I have 2 questions: \- In this case, can I IMPORT ( instead of SWEEP ) my keys in electrum and avoid to pay the fee each time I want to send my Bitcoin? \- I have read that if you use the IMPORT option, then when you spend a portion of the Bitcoin, then the unspent amount will go to another address. Is it true? Why? Then I have to store another pair keys for the new address? Thanks, I am newbie ❤️
>It’s the WIF key.. Nowaday most wallets (software that stores private keys and allows sending coins) are now BIP39 but should have an option to import WIF key. Look for option described as "import private key" or "import WIF key". It may also be something like "SWEEP private key" - be aware this option does not simply import the WIF key but immediately sends all Bitcoins on it to the wallet you just created - any wallet that has SWEEP option instead of WIF import will force you to create a new wallet first - if you do this, you need to back up your new wallet right away and now treat your new wallet and its backup with the same secrecy as I told you before about you private key. I am not really up to date with Bitcoin wallets, other will probably suggest something modern and easy to use. One of the oldest and still maintained desktop wallets is [https://electrum.org/](https://electrum.org/) but I'm not sure if it supports direct WIF import of if it forces you to sweep funds to a new wallet. I mean, it's not a problem to sweep but if you are accessing funds left by a late family member there might be legal issues with that. Maybe this happened only recently and you just want to check if this key gives access to any funds at all before you talk to a lawyer. If you sweep the key instead of importing you are then moving funds that are not yet yours, or something like that, this kind of legal issues are very specific to the country/state you live in, so I'm just saying that to be aware of the difference between importing and sweeping.

I have done something similar to what you're suggesting. That offline PC would need to *stay* offline, forever and ever. You'll need to make sure it has no blue tooth or wifi or any other way of connecting to the Internet or Local Area Network (LAN). Never sell or donate that computer. Do NOT give it to the e-waste recycling. Forget the camera. Use a graphite pencil or a pen with archival ink. Copy both the private key and the public receive address. Make TWO COPIES. Store them in separate locations in case of fire or flood. Do NOT store them in a "safe" or in a "safe deposit box" at a bank. Before you send all your money to such an address, send a small amount, then **make sure you can get it back out**. If you'll ever spend any Bitcoin sent to one of these 'paper' wallets you'll need to SWEEP it into some other wallet. If you don't sweep it properly, you can lose your money. Yes, you can send to the same address multiple times. The fact that you didn't know that tells me you're likely to fuck up and lose your money doing it this way. Still, it can be done. Also, before you send any significant amount of wealth to one of these 'paper' wallets, use your offline bitaddress.org to double-check your private key. That is, enter your private key and see that you, (1) don't get an error, (2) get the exact same receive address. If you don't write everything down EXACTLY, you're likely to lose your money. There are many tricky steps along the way. I've been there and done that. My recommendation is to buy a Coldcard air-gapped hardware wallet. Play around with it using small amounts of money - make sure you can get money into and OUT OF such a wallet. Make sure you properly back up your seed phrase (and memorize it as well).

Out of curiosity have we heard anything about SHIBRANIUM and the SHIBASWAP site allowing a bridge to other networks other than ETH? There are a few ecosystems that are doing some rather similar work from teams that would probably benefit from some SHIB exposure. SWEEP and BABYSWEEP on BSChain for example would be a killer partnership with SHIB. Staking on SHIBASWAP and viceversa on their https://www.sweepproject.com portal.
