How much dilution has there been? Will Spiegel ever actually buy a share or just keep selling? Maybe they eventually get bought - who would be let to buy them I don't know - but that's just a hope. "that still has massive 100x potential" GPRO was a terrible stock with horrible leadership. There was a point where they were going to release a drone, and I said on here years ago: "if they can't get it right with the core product, why am I supposed to be confident in them getting a drone right?" The drone was delayed and then recalled. The stock is now 88 cents. If SNAP's record since going public in 2017 is -70%, what gives confidence that they'll succeed with glasses? I mean, they already had Spectacles in 2017 and that ... didn't go well. https://techcrunch.com/2017/10/28/why-snapchat-spectacles-failed/

Back in 2019 this guy on twitter started talking about a potential short squeeze on GME, and everyone on WSB watched, myself included, from the beginning, as GME raised from below ten to twenty, to thirty, then to sixty, then eventually hit 300+ in the span of a week or so. Other correlated stocks also, now deemed "Meme Stonks" like AMC, BB, KOSS, and GPRO rocketed up during and proceeding the massive GME move as money moved around to other heavily shorted stonks. Now it is happening again, except this time I saw it coming and bought 15 13.5c 5/17 strike two weeks ago. Sold for a 110% profit.. last thursday. Luckily, I bought AMC 4.5 c's with the money. # Beginner: Looking for advice/opinion on my recent trades I've recently started trading options and invested some money in the following contracts: * **GPRO Oct18'24 3 Put** \[4 x $1,30\] * **HHH Oct18'24 70 Put** \[1 x $11,30\] * **GLD Sep20'24 210 Call** \[1 x $13,8\] To trade those contracts, I based my decision on the following: **Trend analysis** (I'm generally looking for three-month trends for bullish and one-month trends for bearish) * EMA 8/21/34/55 * SMA 50/100/200 * Keltner Channels * ADX * Ichimoku Cloud **Entry** * RSI * Slow Stoch * Elliot Waves In the case of **HHH** & **GPRO**, I also checked cash flow, earnings and ratios such as *D/E,* *P/E*, and *P/S*, and they were not so promising. Now it looks like the market is moving the opposite way from my original analysis. Of course, there are pullbacks and rallies happening all the time; I know that's how the market works. It's not exact math, and it doesn't truly mean trends are exactly over, BUT.. maybe I'm overlooking things, not investigating much in detail, or missing some key factors. I'm actively reading, investigating and looking for any feedback so I can improve. Thank you in advance!

GPRO has negative EPS revisions and decelerating momentum when compared to other Consumer Discretionary stocks, to the point that it gets a Sell rating from our Quant rating system. Stocks rated Sell or worse by our Quant rating system have massively underperformed the S&P 500, as this article will describe.

$AFRM reminds me of $GPRO and $PTON, alot of hype and expectations to be disruptive for a new and innovative company then settles in the single digits. I think its going to be a great short starting in 2024 as people put off paying for their buy now pay later holiday purchases. There's also alot of competition in the space. If Amazon and Walmart launch their own buy now pay later company or program its over for $AFRM.

r/wallstreetbetsSee Comment

I bought 8 shares around 4 or $5 a year or two ago just cause I had $50 laying around on my account, when GPRO was posting positive earnings. My initial impression of the stock was that it had potential in its software. As a skiier/mountain biker/amateur scuba diver GoPro had the best software with its stabilization. I think the cloud subscription could’ve targeted a wider audience in the editing space but that hasn’t happened. But hindsight’s always 20/20. At the moment I think their offerings are not compelling enough to move their needle one way or another. Good time to enter? Probably not wait until the market thinks it’s a good investment.

Oh man this brings me back (Cue Vietnam Music): 2014 I was actually making/saving money so naturally researched investing and got funneled into Motley Fool, and even paid for their Premium Service GPRO, Container Store (lost 90% before privately acquired), and UA (down 80) were all highly recommended while putting risky stocks like TSLA (now up 2000%) were put in the “penalty box”. The Fool just keeps reassuring, we’re long term investors so keep holding at least 5 years. They purposely mislead investors say they’re beating the market but these numbers are inflated because they incorporate their AMZN recommendations from the 90s but they cut the losers from calculation.

r/wallstreetbetsSee Comment

I see. I guess in my mind, for things like GoPro and Peloton, their boom was associated with a fad and a temporary increase in demand for those items that had an obvious endpoint. Peloton was likely going to go down after lockdown, for instance. It reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Homer invested in pumpkins before Halloween, and then his stock broker admonished him for losing his earnings because he still kept the stocks after Halloween. I suppose I'm trying to understand, for any bust stocks, how and when people realized that the stock had reached its apex and it was wise to sell instead of hold the bag. I mean, the decline of $GPRO stock price was directly due to people's desire to SELL the stock outweighing people's desire to BUY those stocks. So I wanted to know what event or series of events took place when the ship started to sink and people started to lose confidence in the stock and panic sell. Thank you.

GPRO has no LT revenue growth, no meaningful profits, is not cheap relative to average historic earnings, no positive momentum, and their relative value prop is eroding. Lots of consumer electronics companies have had great comebacks (ie AAPL). But more often than not they just decay into well-copied oblivion after their initial fad period. I think GPRO’s opportunity to change/improve their business was 5-8 years ago. Now they’ve lost so much talent, brand equity, and scale that they appear locked into a LT decline. The stock is barely moving up in this intense rally where similarly low quality beaten down speculative stocks are up 100-200%. Surprisingly weak momentum is oftentimes highly informed HFs telling you what fundamentals will be the next few quarters before people without MNPI form that opinion. If you want something unprofitable, not growing, with a weak business model, and poor valuation, at least get positive momentum!

Just because you only pay attention to a couple over-valued stocks that aren't going to pump when they report decent numbers that somewhat justify the ludicrous valuation.

He had a sizeable GPRO position at the end of 2016 into 2017. I stopped paying attention to him when he recommend *against* buying msft in 2017 and instead buy gpro. His reasoning was people don't like windows laptops or something equally uninformed.

I am not a day trader but I have made money. I started with 1k around 2010. I have made around a 100k over 13 years. If I had no loses along the way I probably would have 300k! I do admit I did make a lot of money this last Wednesday on EBET. I also hit on TUP pretty solid. AMC and BBBY treated me pretty good also. Back some time ago GPRO treated me pretty good. Another good hit back in the day was HEAR and MNST. MNST was my first big hit and I made about 10k on that. In 2019 I lost about 20k on a few bad bets. I have had a few years I break even. Lost money on trying options also. It is more of a hobby for me. Kind of my hidden passion no one knows about. Have to be very careful because it can easily consume you just like gambling.

Sorry; I'm looking to take some long calls for $GPRO. $5 calls expiring 4/14 at $0.15 average price. I'm newer to trading stock options but I noticed an unusually high open interest for $4 puts that expire this Friday. Would this mean that those active contracts will be forced to close out of the money at current price of $4.94? If so this could give a slight squeeze to the upside, no?
