I guess you actually want the IEX one https://www.tiingo.com/documentation/iex. There's some examples of how to use it.
I don't blame them at all for this one. Exchanges are private businesses but with a public function so even the fact that we allow HFTs to co-locate in the US is just massively unfair. I believe this was what IEX was trying to combat with its mandatory speed bump.

This is very out of date. IEX cloud shut down their API months (more than a year?) ago. Like another commenter said, just an AI post.
It's all about listings and liquidity. If they can build a brand and attract new listings and keep market makers highly subsidized, then they can put a dent. NYSE, NASDAQ, and CBOE are the top three equities exchanges by volume, MEMX AND IEX are chipping away share but are still lagging. TSX has poached talent from BATS/CBOE and they are serious on listings. Equities business is a challenging one, and there isn't much room for innovation, so the real differentiator is purely based on pricing. If they have deep pockets, then they can make something out of it.
IBKR PRO \*\*DOES\*\* allow their Traders DMA (Direct Market Access) - IBKR Lite does NOT. I can route to NYSE, ARCA, IEX and a whole bunch of other ECNs. So you are incorrect. I do not like IBKR software. They are a billion dollar enterprise and they can't find their own ass with either hand when building software interfaces. They finally actually adopted/using Trading View charts to some degree.
There's also this toy, but its not a complete view of the shares, its the shares reported to the IEX: [https://www.iborrowdesk.com/report/OPEN](https://www.iborrowdesk.com/report/OPEN)

Possibly, but there was also an exchange to slow down traded to make it a level playing field. I IEX. The literally had boxes with miles of fiber optic cables to slow down the trades
In the same book IEX was founded to do the opposite: They installed miles of extra cable to create artificial lag so that the HFTs would not work in their exchange.
I think some companies are getting to oversold levels - clearly the tariff impacts wonβt be known but Iβve added to positions in RPM, IEX, STZ, MRK, HUBB, APO, CHDN, HCA, EOG and BLK. Thatβs only 10k of my portfolio though. The rest is in bonds/short term treasuries. My thesis on anything above is that either A. Itβs trading at a discount to the market or its competition; B. It has reached a 5 year low and is back to COVID level; C. Has a strong competitive advantage, will benefit from reshoring or has a buttload of cash.
sorry for the late response, i get you, the learning curve is steep. If you're looking for APIs, I'd recommend checking out Alpha Vantage, Finnhub,IEX Cloud, Quandl, and Morningstar. that is to just nae a few but if you want to look more RapidAPI is a good place to find a lot more. Financial Modeling Prep is something that i learned on and it is great. its really hard to learn but once you get it, its great. Youve got the experince, so i would just look on rapid Api to find one that you like and go from their. Let me know if you or anyone reading this needs help, i am happy to help. Let me know how it goes!
I'm really only familiar with Interactive Brokers, but you can get subscriptions to all of the major exchanges' Level II data. I've got Nasdaq, NYSE, NYSE Arca, BATS, IEX, and a few other minor ones on mine. It might be a similar story over at Schwab and the other brokers that position themselves as discount brokers with perks. The only caveat is you have to pay. My Level II subscription costs me about $100/month, and you need to have streaming access to top of book quotes first in order to add Level II. There's third-party data providers you can alternatively subscribe to for quotes, but I can't speak for those. I've heard Webull offers Level II for $2/month, but I have no clue what data feeds it comprises. Honestly, limited Level II data is fine for most, but if you're doing any sort of serious day trading or algorithmic stuff, proper data feeds are key.
True, there are multiple tech companies but they're not the majority of the index. What I meant was that the IEX is almost a tech index nowadays.
Did they succeed? βIt was found that the chemical stability at neutral pH required for a drug candidate was not sufficientβ¦ This was partly related to deamidation and isomerization at asparagine residues but also the disulfide bridge.ββ The new analogs had the same problems as cagrilintide at pH 7, but also suffered from instability of the disulfide bridge. The disulfide bridge is critical for the biological functionality of amylin and also protects it from aggregation. This was likely an issue for cagrilintide as well, though it wasnβt reportedβthe researchers in that report said that instability of cagrilintide βincludedβ deamidation, implying there were other kinds of degradation. βDegradation of the asparagine residues and general stability were significantly improved at pH 4.ββ Just like cagrilintide, these new amylin analogs were found to only be stable at a pH of 4. βInitially, it seemed likely that a neutral formulation was possibleβ¦ However, as development of a neutral formulation not only caused deamidation but also involved disulfide bridge instability, it was decided to revert to using an acidic formulation.ββ Again like cagrilintide, and then NN1558, the researchers finally gave up on making this new amylin analog stable at a neutral pH. Now, onto the interesting insights they hadnβt shared in their cagrilintide report. Within the context of discussing the potential of amylin to form fibrils, hereβs what they said: βThe amino acid sequence of human amylin enables a process of misfolding whereby monomeric amylin initially forms soluble beta-sheet-rich oligomers that may be cytotoxic.ββ For the first time, Novo researchers are discussing not only fibrils, but also oligomers. To understand oligomers, imagine you have a box of LEGO bricks. Each individual brick is a **monomer** (mono meaning "one"). Now, if you connect a few of these bricks together, you create a small chain called an **oligomer** (oligo meaning "a few"). When two bricks connect, that's called a **dimer**, and three is a **trimer**. These oligomers, or short chains of amylin, then form bonds with each other in a side-by-side arrangement, forming sheet-like structures called beta sheets. They note here that oligomers βmay be cytotoxic,β meaning toxic to cells. The research on amylin oligomers is actually much more conclusive than βmaybe:β oligomers disrupt cell membranes, induce stress in the endoplasmic reticulum, cause mitochondrial dysfunction, increase oxidative stress, trigger inflammation, and damage DNA.[5] βOver time, these oligomers may mature further into elongated structures with a high content of beta-sheet strands and finally generate insoluble protein aggregates that are [visible under a microscope] as amyloid fibrils in islets.ββ Eventually, all those oligomers form fibrils in islets, which are small clusters of insulin-producing cells within the pancreas. βSome of these toxic oligomeric species are associated with beta-cell death and the progression of type 2 diabetes (16β18)ββ Here, they cite research showing that not fibrils, but toxic oligomers are what cause the death of the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. This is from the first study cited: βThe mature amyloid fibril is presumed to be relatively inert and to have no significant cell toxicity. Rather, smaller oligomeric intermediates formed during fibrillogenesis are thought to be cytotoxic.β That study goes on to point out that initially it was believed that fibrils are the cause of disease, but βsubsequent reports have underlined that it is small, oligomeric [amylin] aggregates and not fibrils that constitute the toxic species.β βThe stability properties of the individual amylin analogs were assessed with respect to their propensity toward amyloid fibril formation. The relative amount of covalent dimers and polymers (HMWP) present prior to fibril formation testing was [also] measured.ββ A dimer is two peptide molecules stuck together. The researchers are calling dimers βHMWPβ (High Molecular Weight Products) along with longer oligomers that theyβre calling polymers. After an amylin or cagrilintide molecule has been degraded and destabilized by a higher pH than 4.0, it then begins to stick to other amylin/cagrilintide molecules. This is the first step in becoming an oligomer, and as the Novo researchers have already established, oligomers are toxic to cells (leading to beta-cell death and progression of Type 2 diabetes). They used Thioflavin T (ThT) to test for fibrils, but weβre not really interested in fibrils since theyβre nowhere near as harmful as oligomers. So hereβs how they measured the amount of dimers: βAssessment of High Molecular Weight Product Content by Size-Exclusion Chromatographyββ Novo Nordisk uses Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) because it's the gold standard for assessing the presence of dimers and other oligomers. This is also the view of the US Pharmacopeia, which sets standards federal standards for drug products, as well as the FDAβs Senior Pharmaceutical Quality Assessor.[8] Reverse-Phase High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (RP-HPLC) may be considered the gold standard for separating and purifying peptide molecules, but this is not universally true. For example, ion exchange chromatography (IEX) is superior to HPLC for charged peptides.[9] For quantifying aggregates such as dimers and trimers, Size Exclusion Chromatography is considered the gold standard.[10][11] The reason the FDA and USP donβt advise RP-HPLC is because itβs not sensitive enough to detect dimers. If you analyze cagrilintide that has begun to aggregate using RP-HPLC, the dimers will elute about the same time, meaning they will still show up as monomers (single molecules). So the test results will still show high purity since the dimers are undetectable with this method. The pramlintide degradation study also supports this notion, as it employed a form of analysais even more sensitive than SEC to detect dimers called Electrospray ionizationβion mobility spectrometryβmass spectrometry (ESI-IMS-MS). The pramlintide study uses multiple tests to confirm the presence of oligomers because SEC has limitations.[12] Even deamidation, which is the form of degradation that cagrilintide goes through above pH 4 that leads to aggregation into dimers, cannot be adequately be detected with RP-HPLC.[13] The Bottom Lineβ In Novo Nordiskβs own words, Cagrilintide ***absolutely** **must*** be formulated at a pH of 4.0. Much higher, and the peptides rapidly begin to degrade, leading to aggregation and the development of highly toxic oligomers. It is these oligomers themselves that are the most toxic species and not fibrils themselves. To test for the development of oligomers, Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) is the gold standard (at the bare minimumβthere are also platinum and diamond standards). Anyone who tries to tell you that cagrilintide is safe (doesn't degrade) at a pH above 4.0 based on a test with anything less than SEC (including the RP-HPLC test from PTDS) is either ignorant or they have ulterior motives. They are asserting that they know better than Novo Nordisk themselves, as well as the US Pharmacopeia and the FDA. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidenceβso what extraordinary evidence do they offer? if you get a real broker , not a fake one like RH you can specify which exchange your order gets sent to sending your order to the IEX exchange they do not get PFOF , thus the hedge funds do not see your order
The following market data subscriptions should be enough for your needs: NYSE (Network A/CTA) NYSE American, BATS, ARCA, IEX, and Regional Exchanges (Network B) NASDAQ (Network C/UTP) OPRA (US Options Exchanges) The last one is specific for options market data. I think in total it costs 6 USD per month. Waived if you do regular trading and pay them commissions
Sounds like a cool project. For APIs, check out the [Interactive Brokers API](https://interactivebrokers.github.io/tws-api/) since you already use them. For general market data, [IEX Cloud](https://iexcloud.io/) is pretty good. For Python, the `ib_insync` library is a good wrapper for the IB API. You could also look into [Alpaca](https://alpaca.markets/) for a simpler API if you're just getting started with algorithmic trading. Good luck.
The whole game is rigged. IEX and the magic shoebox Would be a thing right now, but it was too fair for the coke fueled cocksuckers on wallstreet.
If you plan on buying, route your order through IEX so it actually hits the pit market and moves the price up.Β
Thatβs why everyone should route their buy orders through IEX.Β

Are you aware that this is only on IEX? Why are you looking at this weird exchange specifically? Wouldn't the NASDAQ be the more normal choice?
Yes, but if the NBBO moves, IEX is obligated, to route your order to the best exchange - same as any other exchange. There are a few exceptions to this - none of which are available on ATP.
I can route my orders through IEX using fidelity.

There's also CBOE, IEX, Miami's exchanges, SEVERAL NYSE variants that are all separate exchanges, etc, etc, etc. Like fuck homie, at least google it.
It depends on your broker and what liquidity providers you have access to. For retail traders - It may not make makes sense to route orders to specific market centers unless you know that you will get better liquidity or an improvement. A market center like IEX may or may not be better for whatever underlying you are trading. Decent brokers will usually route you to the best market center for execution. That is what a broker does - they are brokering your access to the best market center and liquidity providers for a fair and fast execution. Some brokers do this better than others. If you are using Ibkr - that broker is tailored for more experienced retail traders and institutional brokers - Ibkr supports a lot of manual and custom routing that other brokers do not offer. Depending on your trading strategies - this level of routing management may or may not be useful.
Thank you for the explanation, so does it make any kind of possible difference to route to IEX only?
Fintel gets its sources from multiple sources. Who told you only one source? Start Min Max Latest 2024-03-14 230.65 230.65 304.63 304.63 Where does Fintel get its data? We source our short interest data from a variety of providers. The Short Interest figures we provide are sourced directly from the stock exchanges (NASDAQ, NYSE, NYSE American, NYSE Arca, CBOE, and IEX) and FINRA. This is the official data and covers a broad spectrum of the market. We do not source short interest from a single broker. For Canadian, Australian, and Hong Kong markets, the short interest is published by the regulatory agencies of those countries. We get this data directly from those agencies on a daily or twice-weekly basis. The float and shares outstanding we use are sourced from Capital IQ, which is one of the top firms that provide this data. Start, Min, Max, Latest (Borrow Rates) These represent borrow rates for the day, with the rate at the start of the day, the end of the day (or the latest for the current day), the minimum rate in the day, and the maximum rate for the day. Unlike the Options Implied Borrow Rates, our source for this data always presents them as positive numbers, and they represent an annualized interest rate that is paid by the borrower for the shares. Update Frequency: Intraday every 30 minutes.
All these brokerages was around for a long time. Iβm saying the IEX platforms that let you trade from your phone.
Canceled the order, downloaded active trader pro. Rebought the order and ran it through IEX. Thanks for the help and guidance oh great ones.
It is a massive fucking Conflict of Interest and makes no sense why we allow Ken Griffin to run BOTH Citadel Securities and Citadel LLC. Which are respectively the #1 Market Maker on the NYSE and one of the most profitable hedge funds in history making him one of the richest man in America.... "In 2022, Citadel's hedge fund unit posted its record year of revenues to date, generating about $28 billion in revenue. Citadel returned $16 billion to its clients in 2022, which was a record annual return for both the fund of American investor Kenneth Griffin and the entire industry. In addition, this allowed Citadel to overtake Bridgewater in the list of the most profitable hedge funds in history" In 2014, the firm expanded its market-making offering to interest rate swaps, one of the most commonly traded derivatives.[16] Analysts of U.S. financial markets have been critical of the SEC's decision to exclude Citadel Securities from its 2014, Regulation Systems Compliance and Integrity (Reg SCI) regulatory regime designed to make U.S. securities markets safer for investors; both Citadel and the SEC declined to comment on Citadel's being exempted from complying with this rule" Citadel Securities was fined $700,000 by FINRA in July for trading ahead of customer orders.[27] They delayed certain equity orders from clients to buy or sell shares while continuing to trade the same stocks in its own account as part of its market-making activities, according to FINRA. In October, Citadel Securities announced it would acquire the NYSE market making unit of rival IMC.[28][29][30] The purchase made it the largest designated market maker (DMM) on the NYSE β overseeing over 1,500 NYSE-listed securities.[7][8] In the same month, Citadel Securities filed a lawsuit against the Securities and Exchange Commission over the SEC's decision to approve a new "D-Limit" order type for IEX" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citadel_Securities https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citadel_LLC
I forgot my pass on my main account so I just use this one for now lol but I made a post about it, basically TLDR is I did several orders on Fidelity trying to do round lots of 100 shares and they often got broken up into two orders. I called and asked if I could do the βall or noneβ condition while routing through IEX and they said no. You can try it for yourself if you want. Then they said some shit about agent vs principal orders and when you route through AUTO they route it through Citadel but Citadel will process your order as an agent not principal which idk if I buyβ¦ so yeah. You can call your broker and learn more Iβm just relaying the message I was told. I just buy and hold until Ken goes to prison.
Buying on IEX unfortunately doesnβt do anything to affect the price but holding is still good!! (Nfa)
Relax, thatβs why the RH users are cucks, cause no one utilises any of the current infrastructure for trading or investingβ¦ like the IEX. Dunno how you mention flash boys and leave out the one thing thatβs been created to actually counter it.
>I am working on creating stock screening & visualizing web service. I can use financial statement data from EDGAR, but about stock prices, I couldn't find the free source. EDGAR is only free, because the government deemed it so. There are a bunch of APIs that are free for personal use, but why would any company give you something to sell for free? IEX cloud is probably the cheapest
Iβve noticed that when I buy on IEX it shows on the historical volume on tradingview but if I use just the buy button I never see those. Been weird. To answer your question all I think IEX does is just hit the open market and not dark pool.
Also if you buy through IEX does it affect the volume and the open share count? Just curious. Trust me my choice doesnβt get dark pooled. What about ARCX, XNMS OR EDGX
IEX goes to the LIT exchange. Those buys actually hit the tape. Everything else is darkpooled.
Short volume for today going to be through the roof. Been buying on IEX exchange.
Buy through IEX and then DRS and hold until you're old. At least for single stocks
Bro if anything itβs too efficient and needs to be slowed down. I believe thatβs what IEX does but then again I am completely regarded
Idk. Even Gary Gensler said 95% of retail orders go to dark pools. I use Fidelity and I use IEX to route orders
Maybe but I use Fidelity and you can buy through IEX which is routed to NYSE so your trades actually make a very small difference but in numbers it can change things which the big players donβt want
And before we direct register, we remember to route our buy orders through IEX.
Can anyone here share short-term changes in the value of Unity stock since the September 13 announcement? I see a steep drop in the value of the stock at the beginning of September 13 on the data available through IEX on DuckDuckgo, but then the value seems to stabilize soon after without changing in value significantly. I will continue to watch this stock so I will try to find a better source on information.
Are you looking for data for back-testing purposes? If so - check the wiki in r/algotrading. I have used Quantconnect's platform in the past and I like their built in data subscription model since it's convenient. You can also check out Polygon and IEX - both are priced reasonably for retail use.
There is no longer a minimum monthly amount fee for an account. For options pricing, you'll need (from sidebar): i) NASDAQ (Network C/UTP) = 1.5 USD/month ii) NYSE (Network A/CTA) = 1.5 USD/month iii) NYSE American, BATS, ARCA, IEX, and Regional Exchanges (Network B) = 1.50 USD/month iv) OPRA (US Options Exchanges) = 1.50 USD/month. = $6.00 p/m. If you do enough trades, they will just credit the amounts back to you.
To be fair your order isnβt hitting the lit market no matter which broker you use. Theyβre all shady. You gotta trade through IEX if you want your order to not be internalized.
You can find a comprehensive list of all U.S. stock market tickers on various financial data websites. Here are a few reliable sources where you can access this information: Nasdaq Website: The Nasdaq website provides a directory of all companies listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange, along with their tickers. You can search for companies by name or browse through different market sectors. Website: https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/screener NYSE Website: The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) website also offers a list of all companies listed on the NYSE, along with their tickers. You can search for companies by name or by filtering based on different criteria. Website: https://www.nyse.com/listings\_directory/stock Yahoo Finance: Yahoo Finance provides a comprehensive database of U.S. stocks, including their tickers, stock quotes, charts, news, and more. You can search for specific tickers or browse through different market indices. Website: https://finance.yahoo.com/ Bloomberg Terminal: If you have access to a Bloomberg Terminal, it provides a wealth of financial data, including a comprehensive list of U.S. stock tickers. Financial Data Providers: Subscription-based financial data providers like Reuters, FactSet, and Morningstar offer databases with comprehensive lists of stock tickers and other financial information. Stock Market Data APIs: There are also various stock market data APIs available that offer lists of U.S. stock tickers. Examples include Alpha Vantage, IEX Cloud, and Quandl. Please note that the stock market is dynamic, and companies may be added or removed over time due to listings, mergers, acquisitions, or other events. It's a good practice to use reliable and up-to-date sources for accurate information.
As I know, free resources of stock market data at the best only are with minutes by minutes resolutions for some period of time, for example Alpha Vantage has recent 2 years data feed. But some data providers offer real-time paid data feed, for example IEX Cloud. Maybe it possible to buy historical data or receive an expert answer for this questions from them. For blockchain data, the data provider Binance has free real-time data feed for period of 8 hours.

Pretty sure the fella invented IEX. After all his orders were partial filled as he was being front run.
2,3, or 20 tickers...it doesn't matter. This sub doesn't have enough buying power to significantly move prices. Then to top it out, most probably aren't routing through IEX or something that makes the lit exchange.
> IEX is one of many stock exchanges that attempt to fulfill your buy/sell order legitimately. Other exchanges are in cahoots with hedgefunds/market makers and even though they take your order they will still manipulate the order at the micro scale as they see fit. Now multiply those orders by the millions, everyday. Those shady exchanges get a kick-back, incentive from bad actors to sway things in their favor. > > In theory you could purchase a million shares and you would think the price would go up right? Wrong.

You mean the cult of dissecting every filing in the Edgar system, writing letters and comments to the SEC to improve fairness in markets, being invited to the table with knowledgeable industry insiders such as Dave Lauer and We The Investors, Dennis Kelleher and Better Markets, Brad Katsuyama and IEX, Dr. Susanne Trimbath formerly of the DTCC, Nomi Prins formerly of the SEC, co-hosting 2 AMAs with current chair of the SEC Gary Gensler, and being asked to submit questions to Jon Stewart for his Apple TV show the problem? >"IEX was created in response to questionable trading practices that had become widely used across traditional public Wall Street exchanges as well as dark pools and other alternative trading systems. The IEX exchange aims to attract investors by promising to "play fair" by operating in a transparent and straightforward manner, while also helping to level the playing field for traders." It's an attempt at leveling the playing field.
