The MMJ lawsuit against the DEA is a good read. Just insane the efforts they’ve gone to stop any measure of progress. Absurd conflict of interest to have them oversee the CSA with limited ability for medical / scientific agencies to supersede.

"• Company implications: We will not delve in this report into detailed company read, but in principle most Canadian LPs with export capabilities (EU GMP certified manufacturing and processing facilities; overseas distribution capabilities and route to market, or at least established distribution partnerships; know-how to navigate the regulatory complexities), should benefit from the rise of the overseas MMJ markets. In C$ scale, the largest (in alphabetical order) are Aurora, Canopy Growth, and Tilray. Both CRON and OGI also have arrangements overseas. Companies like Avant, Decibel (see our note on the AgMedica deal), Rubicon, SNDL, and Village Farms, are also gearing up for export growth (in fact, VFF says about a third of its B2B sales in Canada end up being reexported). Note: VFF is one of ten licensees in the Dutch rec pilot"

For sure, I spent 5 minutes deciding between the ‘News’ and ‘biased source’ tags. Can’t get much cheaper (right..?)and I do think they’ll turn it around so I’m still buying a few shares to drive my average cost down. As a customer/investor, I’m okay with them running higher than industry margins to build brand loyalty. In DE their customer service is the best of all MMJ dispensaries IMO, and (again, IMO) their branding is the best I’ve seen in the 4 out of state recreational dispensaries I’ve visited. I can see the strategy in selling assets to pay debts and consolidate core markets, but I do wonder how it fits in long-term, so the letter has me more intrigued about what a leadership change would look like than wanting them to refinance more debt unless it is a long-term play.

Thanks. I remember hearing they were conducting research into Marijuana and buying huge tracts of land in California as early as the CA MMJ bill being passed in 1996. I'd put big money on them being ready to jump into action as soon as either the schedule is reduced or it's fully legalized. I also wouldn't count out Big Pharma. Weed can basically be prescribed to anyone at this point because we have so much research vouching for its' efficacy treating so many different conditions. Once it's Schedule III and can be legally prescribed I bet they'll be pushing it like they were Oxy. No one can have the patent but so much free insurance money is up for grabs everyone and their mother will be producing it to get their piece of the pie. Pills and vapes also shouldn't be counted out. Almost all naturally occurring phytocannabinoids can be synthesized from CBD. We're producing more CBD hemp than we can consume. Many people myself included are producing their own vapes of custom mixes of all the various cannabinoids legalized under the 2018 Farm Bill. Big Pharma has definitely been researching that and likely already have many formulations to target specific effects already in hand. They'll also be able to move very quickly with a large CBD market to buy from and no worries about meeting Federal growing standards when dealing in chemically isolated tinctures, vapes, nebulizers and pills, they also have a significantly longer shelf life. Everyone seems to only consider the comparatively tiny weed companies but as soon as we hit Schedule III Big Tobacco and Big Pharma will rush in. I believe long term it will stabilize into something closely resembling the wine market with Artisanal producers holding a huge chunk of the market but before then Pharma and Tobacco are going raiding. I wouldn't even be surprised to learn Biden's push for rescheduling was heavily "encouraged" by Pharma and Tobacco so they can get a foothold before companies like Mood corner the market.

Cannabis all ready is "interstate commerce". Fed regulatory approach to medical and recreational cannabis has been prohibition; criminalizing the manufacture, distribution and possession. Fed intention is to try something different with medical cannabis and reschedule to S3. This will require Fed regulators to promulgate rules on the manufacture, distribution and possession of medical cannabis. How that squares with State MMJ programs remains to be seen. WA, CA, OR have have all passed bills that authorize entering into cross-border agreements with other legal-use states upon satisfaction of triggers (mostly to do with fed being more permisive), they may be more inclined to participate in an interstate MMJ market. Other States may decide to do there own thing, or nothing at all.

"shielded from prosecution" on an appropriations rider that is subject to a congressional vote every year does not provide enough safety for the average investors or anyone else's money. Its status quo. Clear Federal guidance will be needed by the States, Counties, Cities, patients, MMJ industries, other stakeholders and most importantly: those charged with enforcing the rule(s) affectedbythe rescheduling of Cannabis from S1 to S3 . In other words, regulated like any other drug on any schedule and regulated like any other interstate commerce is. The Fed will need to make a major muscle movement if we are ever to see a legally compliant, MMJ, exchange listed company. Anything else is same old same old. And same old same old aint helping.

The whole point of the rescheduling process is to create a framework for a Federally regulated MMJ. Just like every other drug on any of the schedules. The current State MMJ regulations will definitely be affected. For example, If you are a State MMJ participant (patient), you are disadvantaged at the federal level ie; owning a firearm, employment opportunities, certain employment protections Disclosure, 1. the only Cannabis stock I have ever owned (Aphria) was purchased on the TSXV prior to Canadian Recreational legalization. My position has been trimmed (lucratively) significantly since then. 2, I could give a shit LP/MSOs argument mostly because I have a personal rule that I do not invest in anything CSE/OTC. HITI is solid but so are any of the Canadian weed stocks. Weed companies here make money but can't put it in a bank or they risk federal seizure of assets because it's still Schedule I. Canadian companies can bank, buy property and function like a regular company without fear. As a result the Canadian market is saturated and some (Aurora or Tilray iirc) are even downsizing and selling off some of their industrial grow warehouses to get cash flow positive. We don't know exactly how the recent news that the DEA is rescheduling from I to III is going to shake out. A Schedule III drug is a federally protected prescribable medicine which means medical patients will presumably now have their insurance covering their weed. It would presumably also be allowed to be imported from foreign production facilities like any other medicine. If that is the way things go these Canadian companies are some of the only Marijuana producers growing to pharmaceutical standards because of their compliance with Canada's national MMJ program, already have national scale production infrastructure and are primed to start raking in that insurance company money. Some of the Canadian producers are making inroads into the US market by purchasing adjacent businesses to establish production and distribution infrastructure here. OP's favorite High Tide, as he mentioned, has bought up all the biggest US marijuana lifestyle and accessories retail websites. If memory serves Sundial now owns Blue Moon and Shock Top beers. Hops is a cousin plant to Cannabis so I'm thinking their play is to retrofit any Hops growing facilities they own in the US to Marijuana grows and start buying their hops if legalization carries a requirement that US product must be US produced which is a possibility. As soon as the Schedule III guidelines are set in stone things are going to start moving very quickly in this space and there's a lot of potential for growth.

"We try to avoid hyperbole, but if in Florida more than 3.5% of the population is in the MMJ program, how many cash patients can we expect in Germany (a country with \~85mn population)? Assuming 1% of the population become MMJ cash payers, we calculate the German medical market could reach €1.7Bn by end of 2025 (assuming a stable reimbursed market at \~€130Mn, and cash payers spending €150/mo), or about 10x current levels." The numbers and projections are based on 1% of Germans turning to the medical market which is pretty conservative. 2% would make it a €3.4Bn and 3.5% like Florida would make it a €5.95Bn market. I'm thinking more along the lines of 2% intake considering Germany fully de-scheduled cannabis whereas it is still a controlled substance in Florida.

Let's see how long shorts can keep Tilray down with analysts upgrading the stock on Germany news. Zuanic showed them some real love in his report and Jeffries put a price target of 4.30$ a few weeks ago. Revenue projection of 900M and EBITDA of 100M for 2024, if these play out it will be fun to watch the shorts fry. "In terms of international sales disclosed (not just exports from Canada) by the various Canadian LPs (i.e., excluding non-Canadian producers), Tilray has 35% share. Aurora, and Demecan (a German company) are the only three licensees to manufacture MMJ in Germany (2.6 tons each); given prices were set low by the regulator, we calculate neither of these companies are fully using their allowance at present, and they supply the German MMJ market mainly through imports (Aurora from Canada \[no longer from Denmark\]; Tilray mostly from Portugal and little from Canada)."

I lost like 70k in MMJ penny stocks. Then another like 20k in IPO's or other failed picks. If you subtract all of my gains from individual stocks, I'm still in the red about $50k. I beat myself up over this for years. Years and years I kept it to myself, smiled at get togethers with friends and family, went to sleep ashamed and feeling like a fool so many nights. I looked at stocks that I made the decision not to buy next to my losers, up many multiples, and it just felt like my mistake was an exponential one. I thought I threw away my future and narrowly missed my opportunity to be rich, get the life I want, show everyone how I made it in life. After many years, I decided to put it all away, sell it, realize losses, and move on. I started using boring indexes and S&P 500 fund mainly. And I've been able to build a life for myself. I am completely normal and average, but successful and happy. I have a wonderful family to come home to, some great friends, and just about every thing I want in life. I don't live like the .1%, but I'm so ever grateful to live better than 90% of the world's population. Looking at my wife and kids, I wouldn't have them without the things I did in my life before them, that includes mistakes - those losses. Yeah, I didn't hit it big. I'm not on the envy of others, top of the social media view counts, and in the conversations of others when I'm not around. But I was able to find out the right thing to do with money, have and attain grounded life goals. I'm a happy person today, 10 years ago I was at a low over losses. You can be that person too that looks back on something like this and doesn't feel bad, anguish, or regret. Just one of those things that happened like anything else.

Aurora Cannabis CEO says “We’re not dead yet, I think I’ll go for a walk” From TD app news- Last month Canadian marijuana giant, Aurora Cannabis Inc. (NASDAQ: ACB), released its financial results for the fiscal second quarter that ended December 31. Like many others in the space, Aurora is not yet fully profitable. However, it has a modest positive adjusted EBITDA of CA$1.4 million ($1.04 million), in line with prior guidance, so it's taking all the right steps toward achieving profitability. Aurora is also projected to remain EBITDA positive going forward while working on reaching positive operating cash flow. Dropping The Ego â?? Focusing On Medical There's no doubt that these are challenging times for the industry, marked by layoffs and decreasing prices. How then is this cannabis company dealing with the crisis? What's its secret? It appears to be its bet on medical cannabis, writes MJBiz Daily. When many other weed businesses were pushing for recreational, the Edmonton, Alberta-based producer kept its main focus on medical marijuana (MMJ). 'I knew that medical made money. And I know rec was a maybe, coulda, woulda, shoulda, but I knew we were hemorrhaging cash on rec, and we didn't see it getting better,' Aurora CEO Miguel Martin told MJBiz. Martin became Aurora's CEO in 2020 when the company was reporting a net loss of CA$3.3 billion for its fiscal 2020. The only positive light at the end of the tunnel was the company's 'transformation' plan that was undertaken by then-interim CEO Michael Singer. 'But going through that in 2020, as opposed to going through that in 2022 â?? whether it's the capital markets, whether it's the Canadian rec market â?? I'm just so glad we got it taken care of earlier because right now it'd be a real challenge,' Martin said. One of Aurora's biggest problems at the time was that it was growing way more cannabis than it was able to sell. In early 2020 before Martin became CEO, the company had an annual cultivation capacity of 150,000 kilograms of which it was only able to sell one-third. 'I think we all dropped our ego about rec, and that it was going to be OK to be ninth or 10th' in terms of market share, 'which would be a 2.7 or a 2.8 (percentage of market) share,' said Martin, a featured speaker at this April's Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference in Miami. Under Martin's leadership, Aurora sold several of its 11 growing sites, halving its production in fiscal 2022 to 73,371 kilograms. 'Medical cannabis is the absolute lion's share of profitability right now,' Martin said. Indeed, Aurora holds the number one position in terms of medical market share in Canada, serving around 60,000 active MMJ patients. Ready For A Global Legalization Wave In addition to the company's focus on the medical cannabis space, other pillars of its effective strategy include getting ready for a 'global legalization wave,' and differentiating itself from others. In its recent analyst note, Cantor Fitzgerald's Pablo Zuanic confirms that Aurora was among the first to resize its adult-use operations in Canada, which helped it build a stronger position within the global cannabis market. He acknowledged Aurora's preparation for its adult-use sales launch in Germany, which is expected in spring 2025. 'Because Aurora is one of only three domestic licensed producers, the company expects to play an active role in the German recreational market once sales begin," Zuanic said. Martin has said that countries like Australia, Czech Republic, Germany, Israel, Poland and Malta hold the potential for developing marijuana programs and have a 'thoughtful science-based regulatory process.' 'That may take longer, but it didn't seem to be two steps forward, three steps back,' he told MJBiz Daily. 'Cannabis is not dead. The global opportunity is not slowing. I'm of the strong belief that there'll be a good amount of Canadian companies that are the winners. I think cannabis is alive and well, albeit maybe it's taking longer.'

Pablo Investor Note on Trulieve: INVESTMENT SUMMARY: Investment Summary: We stay Overweight and expect a 4Q beat, but lower our 12-month price target to $41 from $51 on sectoral derating. We attach our updated estimates ahead of next week's 4Q22 call. CY22 sales guidance implies 4Q22 sales of $311Mn vs. FactSet consensus of $306Mn. From a purely trading stance, we see risks to the upside (a rarity in the current earnings season). According to OMMU data, Trulieve blended volumes were up +11% in 4Q seq after -5% in 3Q (impact of hurricanes; 3Q volumes for the state were also down, partly due to reg changes); 4Q is more promotional than 3Q, so we assume price/mix in 4Q was negative in FL. We estimate FL accounts for >60% of company sales. Arizona's (where the company has 20 stores vs. 19 in PA; we estimate AZ sales per store 2x PA given AZ is a rec market) total market sales, as per Headset, were up 2% seq in 4Q, and Trulieve opened its 20th store there in early Oct. We estimate AZ is about 20% of company sales. PA (>10% of sales, we say) is harder to call given the lack of data. Outside retail, the company's main net wholesale markets are MD and MA (PA wholesale has dropped, as MSO retailers there increased verticality; in AZ, Trulieve has minimal wholesale). In short, we believe a beat is likely; we model ~$314Mn in sales. Right, not a significant beat, but a decent beat given the context. In terms of the year ahead (a "grind" year, as per most operators), we understand the focus is on efficiencies and cash flows. We believe the next big catalyst for the stock is the momentum on rec making it to the 2024 ballot (enough signatures have already been gathered, and now the state's supreme court has to opine. In the Appendix, we show notes from our recent call with the CEO of DoMJ (Private), the largest MMJ clinics network in FL. Note 1: in our MSO coverage, next week only Trulieve and AYR (AYRWF/N) (see report) report 4Q results. See here for 4Q state trends. Valuation and price target. Recent sector volatility (besides trading technicals and low liquidity) makes price targets and valuation multiple discussions less relevant, in our view. That said, we note Trulieve shares are down 56% in the last three months vs. -48% for the MSOS ETF. The combination of a 4Q beat and positive momentum on having rec in the Nov ballot could help the stock outperform in the month ahead, in our view. The stock now trades at 4.2x our CY24E EBITDA estimates vs. 4.4x for the group average (it is at 4.5x CY23E vs. 7.7x for the group average; the latter is distorted by profitability challenges for a few operators). Regarding our 12-month price target, we take a 30% premium on the MSO average EBITDA multiple (on our CY24 estimates) to account for the company's franchise, and to this we add rec optionality (beyond 2025E) with a 70% probability. Our approach yields a $41 price target vs. $51 before (owing to

> I stopped reading even you referenced a reddit sub. Knowledge is power, mi amigo. I am a Florida MMJ patient and Trulieve has quality weed, prices are decent for their Minis (which are generally similar quality to their larger buds, just smaller), and you can find great deals during their sales. Also, like you said, they have an amazing return policy. IMO, what sucks about Trulieve is that they oversell product online, you have to hunt sales to get the best deals, and there's almost always a wait when you go to the dispensary in person even if you ordered online and do their express pickup option with the app. Seriously, if they could just fix their problems with picking up/shopping at the physical dispensary so that you don't have to wait when you order ahead, it would make Trulieve a pleasure to shop at. If you could actually just walk up to the counter, show ID, then leave with your medicine, that would be ideal. It’s been almost on every major ballot for *years* now. Rick Scott was also anti cannabis (which he proved by screwing with the MMJ legislation passed by the voters). Gooey having a template helps, but the Rs will most likely find another excuse next time. They always do.

Yep the MMJ industry is a nightmare right now. I would avoid buying flower altogether, or at least doing your due diligence to ensure no unwanted chemicals are present. As I’m sure many others can attest - illegal chemicals are often used in cultivation. Farm owners are often aware of incoming inspections and can easily hide the chemicals. To avoid testing issues they can send in samples from clean plants. There is no way to test each bud or even a majority.

I have big hope for legalization. I used to be cynical but after Biden’s measures, my red ass state’s legalization of MMJ, and this, I truly have hope.

Indoor grow setups mainly for MMJ but recently partnered with a $4b water company for water treatment. Market cap is $7 mil!!!! They have $21 mil cash and no debt. Only burning 200-300k on a bad quarter until margins improve to where they were last year.

"Conservative half" is at best misleading and divisive to say the least as it has been a clear pattern from both sides of non-support just as the Missouri Democrats did with recreational saying that the law was discriminatory toward people of color which is insanity all the way, every way. Conservative presidential votes in New York accounted for just over a third of the total vote and nearly two thirds voted liberal so conservative third would be a more accurate description here I think. "But, in another departure from how legalization efforts have played out in other states, the Missouri Democratic Party has declined to endorse Amendment 3 on much different grounds, saying it “may negatively impact minorities, people of color, and low-income earning Missourians.” The group argues that Amendment 3 would make “it difficult for those who do not currently have a license to enter the industry.” In a scathing op-ed urging Black people to vote no, the historically Black St. Louis American newspaper went further, denouncing Amendment 3 as “sinister” and calling many of the existing MMJ operators “monopolistic.” Source: [https://mjbizdaily.com/missouri-adult-use-cannabis-measure-would-exclude-minorities-critics-say/](https://mjbizdaily.com/missouri-adult-use-cannabis-measure-would-exclude-minorities-critics-say/) Yup, they would rather keep on prosecuting them at a disproportionate level or whatever else while pointing to hate and discrimination while offering nothing realistic as a solution to them already not applying rights as they should have been since day one. Just need division to fool us all.

Spoke with my MMJ doctor and asked if the need for a MMJ card will go away, she said "No". The reason is that MD will now tax recreational MJ like crazy compared to MMJ. Add to this people are now giving up their MMJ cards since the state will not allow for concealed carry if you have an MMJ card. What is setting up to happen is a boon for the MJ black market. Leave it to MD to screw things up.

As a budtender, the most common drugs dropped by MMJ patients are 1. Alcohol 2.blood pressure 3. Sleep aids ….. Like any drug it’s not for everyone. I have years of experience and I’ve watched a lot of peoples lives turn around from it. It has little to no pain relief for someone who is addicted to opiates. Many of them just add this to the stack.

I recently got my medical marijuana card and prescriptions to reduce the amount of opioids that I take for RA pain. Now my pain doc has cut off all opioids because I have my MMJ card. It better work for me.

Its not gonna happen until they have milked every ounce of political gain and leverage from the MMJ movement. Id love to be wrong but theres elections coming. And after they campaign on lies they will just forget their empty promises and not follow through. There are a lot of people suffering still in non legal states and it’s really terrible they cant get relief without using hard drugs or have to go to black markets for meds

I get it. No judgment here. I know folks whose lives have been saved in part by MMJ. The fifth of liquor every 48 hours will catch up to you. I’m a drinker. It’s my name sake so again I get it. But the liver panels will get scary as you get older. You don’t have to do anything radical. Life is a process. We’re never in the perfect place. Just have to keep focusing on the next upgrade.

I’ve been following Surna (now CEAD) for many years now which recently did a reverse split (bad for previous shareholders) in order to move up into a better stock exchange. They have the most experience and best-patented indoor grow technology out of anyone for MMJ and recently became profitable (last year, even though they had a loss in 2021 mainly from Covid). After a recent stock split on Feb 9, they have $24m in cash (DOUBLE THEIR CURRENT MARKET CAP!!!) and they are wanting to acquire another or multiple companies in their space to increase margins even higher. Total market cap currently on CEAD is $12m which is insane when you are a profitable company and have $24m cash on hand. Float is 7 million shares. They also have a record backlog of business scheduled for 2022. Here is their return to profitability article: [https://www.globenewswire.com/en/news-release/2021/07/28/2270436/0/en/Surna-Reports-Second-Highest-Revenue-in-its-History-and-Return-to-Profitability-in-Preliminary-Second-Quarter-Results.html](https://www.globenewswire.com/en/news-release/2021/07/28/2270436/0/en/Surna-Reports-Second-Highest-Revenue-in-its-History-and-Return-to-Profitability-in-Preliminary-Second-Quarter-Results.html) Just simply them having as much cash as they do with their market cap being under half of that is my main bullish reasoning... but I also think they have a solid niche, especially in times of food shortage, that can be tapped into other indoor growing reasons too and not just for marijuana.

My 2 cents: download investing apps that allow you to make option plays with fake money, I believe there are free apps out there like this. They are built to help people understand investing with fake money before using real money. Or start with penny stocks. Options are dirt cheap literally pennies, don’t expect to win much but every option you buy will be a very good learning experience. Once you feel comfortable move up to options on some small to mid cap stocks. Stocks you understand, companies you believe in or now a lot about. Stay within your preview, for example; I own and operate a mildly successful wholesale MMJ business in Boulder, CO. I know cannabis, I know the market, I understand the logistics and legislation behind it. Thus I made a good chunk of money buying puts on CLVR this stock shot up way to high way to quick on a bunch of nothing news about federal legalization. I bought options a little far out in timeline (6 months) they were cheap and the price I chose for it to drop was not unreasonable. As of now my positions is still open and the im up $475. I believe as time goes by my position will keep on printing. I will sell maybe 2-4 weeks before expiration. Hopefully I’ll be up 30-100% my investment. Also try reading ‘options trading the 2021 crash course’ by Nathan Real, easily digestible book and only $20 on Amazon. Some of the best $20 I’ve ever spent. Good luck.

Yea i religiously cruise the PA MMJ one and Cresco LLR carts are very highly rated especially, in Florida I found more of mixed bag bag wanted to know where they position themselves especially with such stiff competition from Trulieve/AYR/Curaleaf/MUV in state. Sounds like from what others have posted their biggest problem is being supply constrained

How much growth should I be looking for? I know meta/oculus has been skyrocketing already, but I'm not sure if at this point its going to dip at all. Also been watching Valve and HTC, along with any company making sensors or cameras. Market aside really is amazing how fast this industry boomed. Now if only the MMJ market was able to be accessible. thats another one at least in my state where it's medically only, has blown up in the past 2 years. Covid definitely made the demand for it go up, my guess for the technology advancing so fast as well.

What you say is true, BUT I’m talking about controlling the narrative and making it appear that the Dems are powerless or clueless on MMJ- which lets be honest, they have been; while Dems infighting continues over subsections of reform, PUBs are setting up a scenario where they become the mmj heroes….and with 50% of their voters being cool with cannabis to begin with….well, that’s not good for future Dems. So when you talk about legalization, yes you are correct; but PUBs are setting themselves up masterly to take the credit if the public cheers, and disavow if the public jeers.
