I felt this. I had about 144k net worthe and was in the middle of buying our first home in 2021 mostly in the MVIS run up. I got lucky but also got cocky and greedy. One day it all crashed about 30% and I held on thinking buyers would still buy.... I finally decided to cut my losses and walk away with 80k . And was still about to get my home. Didn't want to disappoint the wife and brought it up to her. She told me to sell if she hadn't we would've lost the home and probably gotten sued

As someone who bought before the $28 run up and held without selling, I’m fine if it memes up or goes up authentically. That said, it’s a wild ass gamble with low likelyhood in my book, but with what I learned about investing through reading about MVIS and others, I got my financial act together and made crazy solid moves for my retirement and net worth.

The biggest killer to MVIS : they don’t have any salesmen. Meta, who’s just down the road, are going wild for laser based displays and had an open invitation conference on the subject. MVIS didn’t show up. MVIS literally don’t know how to do business.
While I have no interest in meme stocks and don't recommend them, I wanted to add: Your analysis of MVIS's recent meme cycles is spot on, but also MVIS has been doing this cycle of *veiled new product hype -> vague talks about deal with "big" company -> stock pumps -> new shares issued -> no meaningful revenue ever materializes* for about 20 years. Before that, they were a big name in laser based barcode scanning but after their patents ran out their revenue dried up and they've been trying to come up with their next big thing and never quite get there. The first hype cycle I remember was around solid state blue lasers but I think there was one before that, then it was a laser-based microprojector package for integrators and rumors that Apple would add one to the iPhone, then eventually their own line of pocket sized projectors which shipped after years of delay but weren't significantly better than LCD alternatives, then a component used in Hololens which leads to the era you talked about.
I’m amazed at how Lidar has become mainstream, yet there’s so many different approaches. I was never a believer in the wearable headgear for augmented reality or that it will be adopted as a mainstream “must have” device, but I get its specialized use cases. If Palmer is even slightly connected to MVIS it’s a massive plus, and we can only speculate at this point, but it would be an interesting scenario to ponder what could be happening behind the scenes.
I have me some MVIS and it’s sort of like the timid little stock that I just don’t have the heart to kick out of my stable. I don’t have much and wouldn’t even notice if it went to zero, but I would be disappointed. I keep up on whatever news I can find. The reality is that they need revenue and catalysts that aim sure are brewing and the next wave, the third in the set is usually the largest, and I’m waiting for that wave to ride.

Mvis will have its day again. It’s in the same basket of swaps as GME so even if MVIS doesn’t force the run up itself, GME could make it happen for MVIS.

You have to compare what is comparable BIG CAPS HUMANOIDS > TESLA OPTMUS / BOSTON / FIGUREAI these monsters are difficult to compete with, only Mercedes, Ford etc when they create their own humanoids will have the means to compete then the SMALLCAPS will follow and take the wave of big caps RR diversified robots but their last robot is Adam in another 1B disguise already XBOT REALBOTIX as JP MORGAN pointed out last week, their business model is unique and stands out from the crowd by targeting a particular niche at only 50M it is long term with a guaranteed gain just in specu 500M would be normal, 3/5B of cap with solid partners, distributors etc will then be peanuts Then my opinion is that the 1st winners of this HUMANOIDS business will be the boxes which make it possible to manufacture them = $VPG $MVIS HARMONIC DRIVE SYSTEM etc
Happened to me back in the GME days. I made 50k on GME, made another 20K on MVIS, then really got caught up in the MVIS stock boards and lost like 40k lol

I have been in MVIS for almost a year now. I’m actually glad that it’s creeping up slowly, mainly due to the optimism of the new CEO. I think they have a proprietary technology, and once they are able to get a few solid deals in and gain more publicity with the current CEO, they definitely have the potential to explode
MVIS. God I still hate myself for that.

MVIS Someone asked in another thread so I'll elaborate. It is lidar and drone vision. Also, they are the ONLY technology with 3 sensors in one. They have worked with both Microsoft and DOD on a regular basis. They recently got a new CEO and (in my opinion) insider training has been climbing every premarket. This is not financial advice and I am not affiliated with MVIS.

I don’t think that a company in Israel that mostly has contracts in Europe has a lot do with funneled American money. But I do agree with you that MVIS is not a superior product and as scalable right now. This conversation is also not very relevant
Fair, I haven't followed INVZ closely this year, I see the potential but like MVIS more in the long run.
Right, INVZ burned $77M TTM to ramp production against a $6.9B backlog of signed contracts. MVIS burned $60M TTM with only minimal revenue visibility. I’m not trying to hate on MVIS, but how exactly is Innoviz’s burn “out of line” when theirs is tied directly to scaling for actual OEM programs?
Everyone learns that lesson the hard way. 99.9% of posts on this sub are leaving out the negative and fixated on one or two positives. I'm accumulating MVIS, but the facts are they only survive with a legitimate and profitable contract. It could be a day, month, year, or never. The never option will leave me losing most of the investment. Same holds true for most of the recommendations on this sub. That said I'm comfortable taking the loss if I'm wrong and it won't really hurt me as I've been buying slowly over the last few years. Take OPs advice if your a rookie. This place will break you if you chase the hype.
I don't like the cash burn over there at INVZ, and I don't trust the CEO. I understand the appeal, but Im hitched to MVIS long run. I respect INVZ as a competitor, so not hating on them, there is room for multiple players in the space.
