RIG is worth consideration for sure. SLB, HAL also. Big US-based oil like XOM, CVX, OXY. Buffet (Berkshire) had 28% of OXY shares. only mention because that means those shares are essentially off the market for the next several years. So the OXY float is actually 28% lower than what is listed.

RIG would need four things before it can be a player again. Significantly lower interest rates, Saudi Arabia to stop pumping oil, a settling if tensions in Brazil, and a new administration . The conditions for RIG to thrive were better during the shale boom but their debt load was too high and it remains too high.

Greeks are overrated unless hedging a stock position. Follow unusual flows. Not on Mega caps, but on small & mid cap companies that could be large/mega caps in the future. Everyone sees the big TSLA flows, but these are not unusual. Happens everyday. You want to check out why someone just bought 3000 contracts of a $7 stock that only has 2000 OI. That's unusual he might know something. Or the RIG $5 100,000 ($2 million) January call bet. That's interesting.
Puts on RIG, DIS, TGT, WMT, and just about every quantum computing stock. I don’t believe the dust has settled for The Disney fallout. I believe Disney along with TGT will continue to struggle for the rest of year. Disney Dismute with YouTube/google could be another bump in the road for Disney. Tron sucked and Leto is a weak leading man. We cancelled our HULU/DIS. As for TGT and Walmart I don’t believe people are going to spend money on Christmas gifts and such when they are struggling to pay bills. But then again Americans luv to spend money and use credit.

Volume totals reflect options traded during the current session. Put Volume Total **1,319** Call Volume Total **33,566** Put/Call Volume Ratio **0.04** expected move 9.15% with a 10/31 expiration. In early October RIG secured major contracts in the GULF and Brazil. I bought calls because I feel confident they can beat given how much the stock has moved recently and overall volume and breaking through the recent support levels of 3.62, 3.75, 3.82 but has to break through resistance at 4.02. In Q2 2025, RIG beat earnings on revenue 988 million surpassing estimates thus leading to a stock increase in 3.4%. I think since they have added more contracts and restructured debt the company will be poised for a win. As always do your own DD to support decisions.

There's some really good long form write-ups on Substack if you want to learn about the industry and the players. I'm long NE. They pay a dividend, but I own it in a tax advantaged account so I'm fine with that. Helps if I have to hold a year or two before I see other gains. They recently did an acquisition so there's not much chance of another, which I like. Management is highly regarded, so there's less downside risk, but probably lower upside (though I still think 3-4x is reasonable over the cycle ). VAL is popular, but there's a big risk right now of management making a.stupid acquisition instead of buying back shares. If not, it's probably got more upside than NE. RIG, SOC are so e other popular names. Any good writer will cover a breadth of the names.
Two beaten down value (hopefully?) plays - NXDR and RIG. Nextdoor, NXDR, doesn't seem to have figured out how to monetize their network as well as the other social networks, but seems to be a bargain at the price. Trading in the low $2's with <$1B marketcap; I can see them as an acquisition target (good fit with Amazon/Ring perhaps?) if they stay cheap(ish). Transocean, RIG, never quite recovered from Deepwater Horizon. But price seems to have found a floor and is rising in the mid-$3's; debt situation is improving. For better or worse, we seem to be moving back into an extractive era, and deep sea drilling may bounce back. Seabed mining is another catalyst (if ever approved).

I just went in on $RIG pretty heavily this week. Im bullish based on free cash flow in 2025 and estimated free cash flow in 2026. 2025 estimated between 53 million and 100 million. 2026 estimates between 822 million and 2 billion! Thats a lot of cash. $RIG and $NXXT are my current large plays.

I only have two active trades and they are very different from eachother. $DFLI was (and still is) my deep fucking untapped value trade. $RIG is my deep value trade - I just entered this week and it needs to prove itself to me still, but I'm liking how it looks as a potential longterm slow melt up. I never sit in a loser so if it reverses on me, I am out.

Also sold a bunch of my IVV (S&P 500) which I feel bad about but gambling on more short term gains on more exciting stocks. May be starting a position in XPEL soon, stocks I am open to buying more of are FOA, ABL, CAAP, DLO, HTLD and ROOT, and I want to build back up my IVV.
fundamentals is what matters. borr is doing better than ever, at least from what i see on paper. the reason it is down is likely because yeah sentiment is down, people are questioning the near future of oil prices considering all the economic headwinds. but also going back to the fundamentals, borr has a lot of debt on their balance sheet. that is also a negative for investors ofc. I dont quite know what they would do with all that debt, maybe renegotiate or roll it over. one thing i do know is that borr was one of the few companies that didnt go bankrupt during the pandemic where others like RIG or sundrill did. Borr didnt consider wiping out shareholder equity by filing bankruptcy and management was able to renegotiate debt. whether they can do this again, idk to be honest. these were just a few things i learned researching borr so thought id share.

I'm currently looking at Transocean (RIG). $3.33 per share. The technicals make me want to full port when I look at them. And they're in the middle of some kind of turnaround thingy. Might be worth looking at. Added bonus is they're a fucking huge established company, so probably no reverse splits or pump and dumps here 🙃

Recently I have switched to value plays back by the current administration to not fight the trend and am on pace for my best return ever. I have made $6,000 in one day trading Tesla Options and lost it next day on Snapchat puts. So please none of this is Financial Advice. GRAB shares and options are good to research. Do not buy the $10c because it may take too long to see sufficient returns before the November 2026 possible crash. UURAF shares look good. MBOT shares look primed. RR shares and options seem to perform exceptional with minimal downside risk from institutional shorting. LDI will boom with upcoming house explosion INTC will replace TSMC dominance at the first sign of Chinese aggression. USAR will continue to rise. RIG has a massive stake now owned by Blackrock FLUX will take a while but remain dominate in alternate energy. My biggest play will be KRKNF and INTC. I expect to raise $100,000 from $5,000. Please look into all. I will update this when all of these double in 2026.

Probably not a hot growth name like people are throwing out. So I'll go with some cyclical name like RIG. Down and out industry that has a potentially massive up cycle coming up.
Used to work for Transocean (RIG). So many guys bought it after it dropped to $15ish because it was “on sale” It’s about $3 now. A buddy of mine lost 30k on Seadrill stock.
RIG has sucked. Rest assured before big oil fades away there will be geopolitical events that cause the price to go up. Money needs to be made soon.

All 198 $1 calls I bought cost me $1200 total. My max loss on this play would have been $1200. All the calls from last Friday closed and at that point I was up about $11.5 k. I rolled a lot into some pure plays. I have a lot of calls on $RIG but much further out. Some uranium mining calls, and BBAI. BBAI will have its day on WSB on the next couple of years, or Palantir will buy it to kill a potential rival.
I'm short TSLA and a basket of companies that leverage up the financialization of less-than-prime auto loans. ALLY, CACC, CPSS, CVNA, KMX Thesis being that defaults & repos are going to continue to climb as bottom 2/3 of consumers are tapped out, and we're entering the downtrend of a cycle that peaked post-pandemic after supply chain issues caused LTVs on used cars loans to spike. None of these with puts. Some long-dated bear call spreads but mostly short shares, so I am not beholden to the calendar. I'll hold these for a year if need-be, which it might require. Only Ally pays a dvidend, but that one is a short-term hold depending on earnings. Carvana has dumped a ton of bad paper on them that has not yet come out in the wash. p.s. I think you're wrong about RIG. Huge moat, literally and figuratively, and technicals say the offshore oil services sector is coming off a bottom. Research how much one of their rigs costs to manufacture, and what the lead time and order book looks like for new rigs. What day rate and coverage do they need to service their loans? If you don't know the answer to all those questions, you shouldn't be shorting it.

Best was KKR. Heard about it in an investment thread. Bought some and was about sell it since it was a partnership and it made taxes a pain. But at that point they turned it into a common stock and it's been doing well the past few years. Worst was RIG. Was told they were solid for dividends and I expected them to be a stable company just paying out dividends. Shale killed the offshore market.
Instead of oil, try looking at sympathy plays. Offshore drilling sector has bottomed & there is a lot of upside. I'm currently trading $RIG & $OMEX

If its pennystocks your looking for RIG, REI, HAL. REI produces oil, RIG drills for it and HAL supplies chemical etc for production. NFA. The Oil ETFs would be a safer bet, but they are pricey. USO is another one.
