no. my dad was day trading money he borrowed from his 401k. retarted right? in 2020 he had 436k realized gains. Managing 500-1,000 positions manually (even with scanner support) implies an incredible level of discipline and 'Portfolio Heat' awareness. Being net long options and consistently profitable is the ultimate filter that separates luck from edge. Most retail traders default to selling premium because they can't overcome the Theta drag on long positions. The fact that your skew models are precise enough to beat Theta while staying net long is the real 'holy grail' here. Also, huge respect for the note on M&A risk with diagonals. That’s a specific pain point (vanishing extrinsic value on cash buyouts) that only experienced volatility traders truly fear. Congrats on the Alpha. The 'billions of backtests' infrastructure is clearly paying dividends

In Thailand you can get 100 Mb/s for $12, in Germany for $28, in Armenia for $15, etc. ASTS will never have enough of a paying customer base if their market is anything other than Bumfuck, OH where your only other option is $190/mo ISDN. It will never be as cheap and easy on OPEX as land fiber optic. Bandwidth growth requires unbelievable CAPEX. The only selling point, just like with Starlink, is WOW LOOK SPACE INTERNET. WOW. I am very opposite from your viewpoints on this. Waymo has less than 3k driverless cars on road after a decade. Tesla has millions that have been collecting data on the billions of miles work. Cameras are the future for autonomous not lidar. lidar is WAAAAY too expensive thus tough to scale, which is why consumers can own autonomous and cannot own lidar on their personal vehicles. This is huge and allows for scalability. Lidar requires pre mapping. You could drop a tesla anywhere on earth and with his general approach can begin to navigate getting better with time. Look at LLM like ChatGPT and Grok… it learns on its own and gets better with data. It’s funny to me that u use the starting year of Waymo’s cars as a strength for Waymo, when I see that I think, how they fuck so they only have 2000 cars in that timeframe. Manufacturing is hard. Tesla has a machine that builds the machine. Tesla is not behind, it’s ahead (again with data and general intelligence)

THAT is something I wasn't expecting. WOW.... it kinda feels like all entertainment in the internet and seemingly world (given that the streaming services are on people's TV's, consoles, and handhelds) will increase the total amount of content in the ecosystem, but the quality stuff will decrease to a teeny tiny percentage of total content in said environments. People have only started to see the enshittification of content. AI garbage music, will smith eating spaghetti, walmart rolling back selfcheckout, its all just this point in time with this stuff. Eventually, in the future, after some economic contraction, there will still be AI companies, and those will offer some kind of product/service that is actually good and useful. Same thing happened with the web we are on now. Social media is different but is also a new tech thing that has emerged. These are all things being studied in real time. But in the future, much of this wont be new, and will be well understood, and our current worries will seem silly. I'm still curious about the patterns that Andy Warhol recognized about technology and media being true today, in these things we discuss in tech, like social media and now AI. Humans making content and being in it will lessen more and more over time, if this trend continues w the tech under the hood, diffusion models. The use cases are likely to be much cooler than just making content, but it sure is ONE of the things it does and will be used to do. I think this is a very interesting space to think about. This is going to be really weird to witness. Will celebrities as a concept fade away? Will it crystalize under the pressure and become even more sacred to society? So interesting...
