Any S&P500 (or similar) index funds but excluding obvious losers?

There have been a few funds that have attempted to do this previously. the one mutual fund I can't remember lasted about 8 years before being liquidated. the 2nd one i'm familiar with was a product called XOUT. The company was on a bunch of podcasts. aaaan it lasted a few years and got absorbed or something. picking losers apparently is much harder than it looks.

For diversification, consider VTI, VXUS, BND, and GLD for long-term stability. You can also add GraniteShares XOUT and GraniteShares HIPS to tailor your exposure.

You’ve got a solid base with the HYSA, nice work. Since you’re aiming to be more aggressive for retirement, a mix could work well, consider putting a chunk into something like VOO or QQQ for long-term growth, nd maybe layer in a smaller piece into GraniteShares’ high-income ETFs (like HIPS or XOUT) for monthly income & diversification. You don’t need to go all-in at once, ease in with a plan & keep that emergency buffer intact.

There is an ETF that does that: XOUT

XOUT is an interesting ETF. They focus on cutting out losers rather than acquiring winners.

Yeah pretty much that today .. The only things up in my porfolio are s&p efts (like XOUT), russel etfs (like IWD) and Couple Vanguard etfs .. Everything else is red .. Happy days ..

Slightly off topic but someone asked me this yesterday, if you want to put a portion of your portfolio passively in the S&P500 but you are scared of the "value trap" and companies that are not mitigating the innovation component, check out XOUT etf .. it has half the s&p (250 companies) and they "X out" (get it ?) the ones that are not trying to evolve basically ... I thought it was a good concept ..

I would look towards what’s not overbought. Small cap: SVAL, AVUV, OMFS Then there’s other screeners. Large cap with a factor screening: OMFL, XOUT, USXF Finally, if there’s a tech play to make (besides TQQQ, SOXL, UBOT all on red gambles) it’s XT.
