Mazars, the auditor for Binance, has even made notes within their audit report dated December 7th, 2022 that doesn't harbour confidence. AUP engagement dictated by Binance. Notable comments from auditor below. "We make no representation regarding the appropriateness of the AUP." "Had we performed additional procedures, other matters might have come to our attention that would have been reported." Further to this, PoR for Binance only included BTC, BBTC & BTCB. No differentiation between tokens. This is the biggest red flag imho, as at least BTCB is supposedly backed by BTC 1:1. Where proof CZ? I'll take your downvotes all day long.

Anyone can make a token and put it up on Uniswap for trading, all in less than 5 minutes if you know how. This however was maliciously used. Scammers made multiple new pointless tokens with the same name as some popular high cap tokens. Leading some people to buy for example LINK tokens that were made just a day before and had nothing to do with the popular LINK token. The difference is in the code behind the token and more importantly the contract address of the token. So, Uniswap made it easier to find the real tokens by introducing *lists*. These are premade lists of tokens which are deemed to be real and trusted by some company. By default [Uniswap made list and Gemini list](https://i.imgur.com/9Z5RniS.jpg) are turned on for users as active. Other lists are on there as well, to be turned on if the users trusts those other companies to not have made any mistakes in compiling their token list. You can still buy tokens that are not in an activated list or not even on any list, but you will get a warning prompt asking you to make sure you know you are buying a token with the right contract address. BBTC doesn't seem to be in the default active list, but it is on the Coingecko list. https://i.imgur.com/mkye6Ht.jpg You can either trust Coingecko or double check the contract address on etherscan yourself so you are not buying some fake BBTC token.

Ultimately it will be the responsibility of the hodlers and the techies to do this. People are lazy and have been dumbed down for decades in terms of "learning" abilities. They will not move or learn to move to self custody. This will be painful for the guys with BTC in exchanges as they drained down due to a few who will buy and self custody. They will be left folding BBTC paper to wipe arse with.

Hey, so I was into crypto a little bit a while back. I'm trying to sell off what I have due to IRL monetary issues of my own making, and I can't seem to trade this for anything. Is the coin dead? Is my wallet having issues? I don't know. Looking up 'binance wrapped bitcoin' gets me a currency with a tag of WBTC, and BBTC is baby bitcoin. Am I just screwed? Thanks for any help you can give :)
After 3 nights I found it... ​ I used the tokens transferred under the transactions on etherscan It show the coin as BBTC but it only worked when I was switched to ethereum mainnet on metamask and added the BBTC token... hope this helps some one else
If he sent BTC to Ethereum (he chose ERC20 on the withdraw page?), that means that he now has "Binance Wrapped BTC" or [BBTC](https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/binance-wrapped-btc). This is **not** the same as WBTC (wrapped BTC). The good news is that he should see that on his Metamask on the Ethereum blockchain (he will need to add the BBTC contract to Metamask - 0x9be89d2a4cd102d8fecc6bf9da793be995c22541). The bad news is that BBTC on the Ethereum network is kind of useless, and he will need to pay gas to send it back to Binance, or to swap it to something else (or even to bridge it).
$BBTC has been going crazy and it hasn't even been listed on any big exchanges yet. But the way its going up it will be. Then its going to moon for sure. I would put 50% there.
