Wrong, BCH is the real Bitcoin for adoption, including alts such as CKB Nervos Network, ( long term its projected to dethrone Ethereum because of account vs Cell model ( a superb version of UTXO or rather evolved version ) Zilliqa 2.0 as the better solana transaction scaling for stable offloads and regulatory framework and IDENTITY proof for institutions especially now with LTIN, vLel stuff. And COMPound for RWA since its a more secure DEFI than aave. Overall crypto is in a good road. Btc is not same with eth. Small blocks will die same as ethereums evergrowing state data that will only consume validators and end up handicap them when the data is too large causing clog fest and centralization due to technology's limitations.

The need to protect cryptocurrency from quantum attack almays to me felt like a distant problem. The timeline is shrinking fast though IMO. If you look at the Google Quantum AI researchers that published a [whitepaper](https://arxiv.org/abs/2603.28846) with updated resource estimates for breaking secp256k1, the elliptic curve used by Btc, Eth (amongst all the other shit coins). It very much suggests that, with a future cryptographically relevant quantum computer using a superconducting architecture, attacks could require fewer than half a million qubits and execute in minutes rapidly, nearly a 20-fold reduction apparently!! If Google is taking it seriously so should most of us crypto degens. Theyve now set a 2029 timeline for its own migration to PQ Cryptog, they've been chatting about this shit recently in progressing to quantum hardware, error correction, and resource estimates. For all shitcoins and their chains, the risk is up there coz public-chain data is permanent. Addresses, sigs, and exposed pub keys may still be attacked years from now if quantum computers arrive. For us degens and the chain creators, I feel there needs to be preparation. Some projects are talking about this shit already like Nervos CKB. Crypto Agility is the key to chains surviving.
Yeah exactly. A lot of chains can eventually add a PQ signature scheme in theory. The harder part is whether the architecture/social layer can handle rotating core cryptography without a giant coordination crisis. We don't want the blocksize wars all over again. That’s why crypto agility feels like the better lens than just quantum resistance. Most chains hardcoded crypto primitives at the consensus/protocol layer and are now realizing it was a mistake and trying to move away from that approach. Nervos Network or CKB is the only chain that hasn't done that afaik.
I think projects are talking about it, just not always in a way that gets retail attention. Part of the issue is that “quantum security” sounds like either sci-fi FUD or some niche cryptography thing, so people tune it out. But the actual blockchain problem is pretty concrete: most chains rely on signature schemes that eventually need to be swapped out if/when quantum computers become capable enough. And imo the bigger question isn’t just “does this chain have a PQ signature scheme?” It’s “how painful is it for the chain to change its cryptography when it needs to?” That’s the difference between quantum resistance and crypto agility. Quantum resistance = use a post-quantum scheme. Crypto agility = you can rotate/add cryptographic primitives without turning every change into a multi-year governance fight. Bitcoin is probably the hardest case because of the existing UTXO set, exposed pubkeys, Satoshi-era coins, etc. [This](https://www.nervos.org/knowledge-base/how_bitcoins_path_to_quantum_resistance_could_look_like) is a great breakdown of Bitcoin's potential migration problem. But this isn’t only a Bitcoin thing. Ethereum has ECDSA for EOAs, BLS on the consensus side, KZG commitments, etc. Other chains have their own baked-in assumptions too. The projects I’d take most seriously here are the ones that are not just saying “we’ll add PQ later,” but have an actual architecture for swapping crypto over time. Algorand/QRL are obvious examples people mention. CKB/Nervos is another interesting one because it’s a PoW chain with programmable UTXOs and a RISC-V VM, so signature schemes aren’t hardcoded as protocol precompiles in the same way. Different approach, but relevant to the crypto agility point.
There are many projects talking about it, but mainly it's because most projects can't adapt to quantum proofing, there are only a small select few projects with the ability from the get go. Start looking into 'Crypto agility' as a subject and topic. You'll get a few projects, one is the the Nervos Network CKB, another is Algorand. Both projects are really marketing 'Post quantum cryptography'. IBM and Microsoft have also been talking aboutCrypto agility. I did make a post in here about those two big companies but as usual they get deleted. Not sure why this sub reddit doesn't allow the discussions. Perhaps don't past the threshold for posting with this account.

I lost A LOT of money in many small coins. PYR was 40 dollard at a point and its now 17 cents, i also had 20k usd in CKB which are now like 300 usd. I also didnt buy Shiba Inu when it had 120k marketcap because i didnt want to spend 20 dollars in fees. My 100 dollars would have been over 10 million.

Nervos (CKB) is interesting, but not in the same bucket as a genesis-PQ chain. It signs with secp256k1, the same ECDSA-style curve as Bitcoin, so it’s quantum-vulnerable today, not quantum-safe. Its real edge is flexibility: the cell model lets you deploy custom lock scripts, so a post-quantum signature could be added later. But that’s a migration path, not post-quantum from genesis, you’d still have to move every account onto the new scheme before Q-Day. “Undervalued” is a separate question from “quantum-safe.”

Have you by any chance looked into CKB? \- Supports all crypto primitives (like this dev launched a SPHINX+ PQ wallet all by himself a couple of months ago) \- RISC-V-based VM - very low-level, supports all languages \- Very interesting transaction model - it's like programmable UTXOs (they call it the Cell model) - you can do all kinds of stuff with it, including private transactions If you're interested in quirky shit like this i say you check them out - the chain is called CKB or Nervos Network
Yes, exactly. Agreed with OP. And I also feel like most people don't even understand the quantum threat issue. Like, nocoiners think blockchains are doomed, like there are no solutions. And crypto ppl think the solution is simpler than it actually is. I recently read this [article](https://www.nervos.org/knowledge-base/how_bitcoins_path_to_quantum_resistance_could_look_like) that lays out the entire problem nicely and realistically. Highly recommended read, honestly. I learned a lot about how Bitcoin's future may look like. Like one of the this I wasn't aware of is this concept of "cryptographic flexibility" -- which is basically the idea that crypto primitives like signing schemes shouldn't be baked into the protocol as precompiles. Like all blockchains (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, etc...) do this right now. They picked a signing scheme and baked it in as a precompile at the protocol level and the only way to change it is to do a very highly contentious hard fork. Nervos Network or CKB is the only chain that im aware of (its mentioned in that article) that doesn't do that - so devs can basically use any signing scheme they want at the application layer, meaning they can use any post-quantum scheme even now.

CKB is not a pioneer in this area. QRL is. The Quantum Resistant Ledger (QRL) has been running a public mainnet since June 26, 2018, operating for over seven years using post-quantum cryptography. By comparison, the Nervos CKB mainnet launched in November 2019.

Absolutely! Last December I could have sold all my altcoins and left tens of thousands of USDC waiting out a bear market. Instead I expected an even bigger spike (plus I didn't want to deal with taxes this year... big mistake), and now everything is blood red. Tokens like Sonic, DOT, CKB and others have lost over 90% of their value since then. This is the second time I've made this huge mistake, but damn, I won't let it happen a third time.

Yes, completely agree. Although I think QRL is very well positioned too. In terms of market cap it is catching up with CKB.
CKB is the mother of all quantum resistant coins. Unlike BTC or ETH, it doesn’t need a patch or messy fork later. It’s already natively quantum resistant at the base layer. Crypto is supposed to be a long term store of value. If BTC/ETH wallets can get drained by quantum attacks, their entire narrative collapses. That’s where CKB shines. It’s future proof by design and it’s currently massively undervalued. Once the “quantum resistant” narrative takes off (and it will), coins like CKB are positioned for insane upside. Institutions will want the safest chain to store value and that’s CKB.

I watched it happen. I don't think it was all retail, someone knows something we don't. There's rumours of the People's Bank of China possibly building a stablecoin on it, but it's just rumours. Could be that, an exchange stocking up because they're listing it soon, whales. I've been holding CKB for years and when it does stuff like this it usually means something is about to happen. It's a steal at under 1c IMO. It only needs a market cap of $5b to put it at 10c.
