Are you calculating them NAVPU to NAVPU? ETHQ is definitely the best performing ether ETF in Canada since it started staking in November, per my calculations. Up about 2% over ETHX.U in that time period.
Check since November 1, 2023 - ETHQ.U is up about \~2% over ETHX.U. I think that's when the ETF started staking.
There are a couple. But ETHX.B.TO is the one I have a couple dollars in
Do they not exist? What about QETH.U and ETHX.B?
Which ETF's do you own? Is there any that has a lower MER than BTCX.B & ETHX.B?
As a Canadian, my TFSA and RRSP are both 50/50 BTCX and ETHX whereby I think my TFSA alone will easily hit 7 figures by end of 2025 (if history rhymes again). Yes, I understand that it’s just an ETF; however, I won’t speak about my cold storage wallet here while I understand the risks associated with those ETFs combined with the fact that I’d rather have BTCX and ETHX rather than a low-cost globally diversified index fund.

TLDR; The Ethereum (ETH) exchange-traded fund (ETF) market is valued at $5.7 billion, with Europe holding an 81% majority share, as per a report by CoinGecko. The XBT Ethereum Tracker One (COINETH) is the largest Ethereum ETF globally, with almost $3.5 billion in assets. Europe dominates with the top 10 ETFs, while Canada's CI Galaxy Ethereum ETF (ETHX) and Europe's 21Shares Ethereum Staking ETP (AETH) are notable. The US lags due to the SEC's reluctance in approving spot ETH ETFs. Globally, there are 27 active Ethereum ETFs, mainly concentrated in futures contracts. The market saw significant growth during the 2021 crypto bull market, with new launches continuing in 2022 and 2023, including the Halogen Shariah Ethereum Fund (HALSETH) in Malaysia in 2024.
how do you buy ETHX with RRSPs?
I also hold ETHX but considering switching to ETHQ as it gives the returns for staking….
Same here. I have holdings in ETHX in both my RRSP and TFSA. Loving the tax free gains in my TFSA in particular.
i buy BTCX.B and ETHX.B using my tsfa account
This is the one, BTCC.B I also hold ETHX.B
In an IRA you can already buy the Canadian crypto ETFs such as BTCX,ETHX etc… but not in a taxable account because of PFIC rules.
