I think a massive issue is that almost everybody is in crypto for the money so hype trumps utility. Look into things like LINK, HBAR, and AVAX for long term viability I think but reality is that 99% of the attention around altcoins currently is memecoins so be prepared to hold onto your investment for a few years and hope that it pans out.
