LOL! AMEN! I've had the same view for decades. Close to 100%, if not 100%, of 401(k) plans offer the S & P 500 as an investment option. The S & P 500 is the benchmark for U.S. equities, not the DOW. Yet many people fixate on the DOW despite it lacking direct relevance to most investors' exposure to U.S. stocks. My only care about/curiosity with the DOW is learning when a company is delisted from the index for reasons of poor stock performance or loss of market capitalization. A company can be delisted from that index for other reasons, but I don't care those.
